Genesis

48

1 Ar l hyn dywedwyd wrth Joseff, "Y mae dy dad yn wael." Felly cymerodd gydag ef ei ddau fab, Manasse ac Effraim,
1It happened after these things, that someone said to Joseph, “Behold, your father is sick.” He took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.
2 a phan ddywedwyd wrth Jacob, "Y mae dy fab Joseff wedi dod atat", cafodd Israel nerth i godi ar ei eistedd yn y gwely.
2Someone told Jacob, and said, “Behold, your son Joseph comes to you,” and Israel strengthened himself, and sat on the bed.
3 Yna dywedodd Jacob wrth Joseff, "Ymddangosodd Duw Hollalluog i mi yn Lus, yng ngwlad Canaan, a'm bendithio
3Jacob said to Joseph, “God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,
4 a dweud wrthyf, 'Fe'th wnaf di'n ffrwythlon a lluosog, yn gynulliad o bobloedd, a rhof y wlad hon yn etifeddiaeth dragwyddol i'th ddisgynyddion ar dy l.'
4and said to me, ‘Behold, I will make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will make of you a company of peoples, and will give this land to your seed after you for an everlasting possession.’
5 Ac yn awr, fi piau dy ddau fab, a anwyd i ti yng ngwlad yr Aifft cyn i mi ddod atat i'r Aifft. Fi piau Effraim a Manasse; byddant fel Reuben a Simeon i mi.
5Now your two sons, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you into Egypt, are mine; Ephraim and Manasseh, even as Reuben and Simeon, will be mine.
6 Ti fydd piau'r plant a genhedli ar eu hl, ond dan enw eu brodyr y byddant yn etifeddu.
6Your issue, whom you become the father of after them, will be yours. They will be called after the name of their brothers in their inheritance.
7 Oherwydd fel yr oeddwn yn dod o Padan, bu Rachel farw ar y daith yng ngwlad Canaan pan oedd eto dipyn o ffordd i Effrath, a chleddais hi yno ar y ffordd i Effrath, hynny yw Bethlehem."
7As for me, when I came from Paddan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when there was still some distance to come to Ephrath, and I buried her there in the way to Ephrath (the same is Bethlehem).”
8 Pan welodd Israel feibion Joseff, gofynnodd, "Pwy yw'r rhain?"
8Israel saw Joseph’s sons, and said, “Who are these?”
9 Ac atebodd Joseff ei dad, "Dyma fy meibion a roddodd Duw imi yma." Dywedodd yntau, "Tyrd hwy ataf i mi eu bendithio."
9Joseph said to his father, “They are my sons, whom God has given me here.” He said, “Please bring them to me, and I will bless them.”
10 Yr oedd llygaid Israel wedi pylu gan henaint, ac ni allai weld. Felly aeth Joseff hwy yn nes at ei dad, a chusanodd yntau hwy a'u cofleidio.
10Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he couldn’t see. He brought them near to him; and he kissed them, and embraced them.
11 A dywedodd Israel wrth Joseff, "Ni feddyliais y cawn weld dy wyneb byth eto, a dyma Dduw wedi peri imi weld dy blant hefyd."
11Israel said to Joseph, “I didn’t think I would see your face, and behold, God has let me see your seed also.”
12 Derbyniodd Joseff hwy oddi ar lin Jacob, ac ymgrymodd i'r llawr.
12Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth.
13 Yna cymerodd Joseff y ddau ohonynt, Effraim yn ei law dde i fod ar law chwith Israel, a Manasse yn ei law chwith i fod ar law dde Israel, a daeth hwy ato.
13Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them near to him.
14 Estynnodd Israel ei law dde a'i gosod ar ben Effraim, yr ieuengaf, a'i law chwith ar ben Manasse, trwy groesi ei ddwylo, er mai Manasse oedd yr hynaf.
14Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it on Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands knowingly, for Manasseh was the firstborn.
15 Yna bendithiodd Joseff a dweud: "Y Duw y rhodiodd fy nhadau Abraham ac Isaac o'i flaen, y Duw a fu'n fugail imi trwy fy mywyd hyd heddiw,
15He blessed Joseph, and said, “The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has fed me all my life long to this day,
16 yr angel a'm gwaredodd rhag pob drwg, bydded iddo ef fendithio'r llanciau hyn. Bydded arnynt fy enw i ac enw fy nhadau, Abraham ac Isaac, a boed iddynt gynyddu yn niferus ar y ddaear."
16the angel who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads, and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac. Let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.”
17 Gwelodd Joseff fod ei dad wedi gosod ei law dde ar ben Effraim, ac nid oedd yn hoffi hynny. Gafaelodd yn llaw ei dad i'w symud oddi ar ben Effraim a'i gosod ar ben Manasse,
17When Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it displeased him. He held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s head.
18 ac meddai Joseff wrth ei dad, "Nid fel yna, fy nhad; hwn yw'r cyntafanedig, gosod dy law dde ar ei ben ef."
18Joseph said to his father, “Not so, my father; for this is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head.”
19 Ond gwrthododd ei dad gan ddweud, "Mi wn i, fy mab, mi wn i. Bydd yntau hefyd yn bobl, a bydd yn fawr; ond bydd ei frawd ieuengaf yn fwy nag ef, a bydd ei ddisgynyddion yn lliaws o genhedloedd."
19His father refused, and said, “I know, my son, I know. He also will become a people, and he also will be great. However, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his seed will become a multitude of nations.”
20 Felly bendithiodd hwy y dydd hwnnw a dweud: "Ynoch chwi bydd Israel yn bendithio ac yn dweud, 'Gwnaed Duw di fel Effraim a Manasse.'" Felly gosododd Effraim o flaen Manasse.
20He blessed them that day, saying, “In you will Israel bless, saying, ‘God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh’” He set Ephraim before Manasseh.
21 Yna dywedodd Israel wrth Joseff, "Yr wyf yn marw, ond bydd Duw gyda chwi, ac fe'ch dychwel i dir eich hynafiaid.
21Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am dying, but God will be with you, and bring you again to the land of your fathers.
22 A rhoddaf i ti yn hytrach nag i'th frodyr gefnen o dir a gymerais oddi ar yr Amoriaid 'm cleddyf ac 'm bwa."
22Moreover I have given to you one portion above your brothers, which I took out of the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow.”
