Job

11

1 Atebodd Soffar y Naamathiad:
1Then Zophar, the Naamathite, answered,
2 "Oni ddylid ateb y pentyrru hwn ar eiriau? A gyfiawnheir rhywun siaradus?
2“Shouldn’t the multitude of words be answered? Should a man full of talk be justified?
3 A wneir pawb yn fud gan dy faldorddi? A gei di watwar heb neb i'th geryddu?
3Should your boastings make men hold their peace? When you mock, shall no man make you ashamed?
4 Dywedaist, 'Y mae f'athrawiaeth yn bur, a dilychwin wyf yn d'olwg.'
4For you say, ‘My doctrine is pure. I am clean in your eyes.’
5 O na lefarai Duw, ac agor ei wefusau i siarad thi,
5But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against you,
6 a hysbysu iti gyfrinachau doethineb, a bod dwy ochr i ddeall! Yna gwybydd fod Duw yn anghofio peth o'th gamwedd.
6that he would show you the secrets of wisdom! For true wisdom has two sides. Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.
7 A elli di ddarganfod dirgelwch Duw, neu gyrraedd at gyflawnder yr Hollalluog?
7“Can you fathom the mystery of God? Or can you probe the limits of the Almighty?
8 Y mae'n uwch na'r nefoedd. Beth a wnei di? Y mae'n is na Sheol. Beth a wyddost ti?
8They are high as heaven. What can you do? They are deeper than Sheol . What can you know?
9 Y mae ei fesur yn hwy na'r ddaear, ac yn ehangach na'r mr.
9Its measure is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
10 "Os daw ef heibio, i garcharu neu i alw llys barn, pwy a'i rhwystra?
10If he passes by, or confines, or convenes a court, then who can oppose him?
11 Oherwydd y mae ef yn adnabod pobl dwyllodrus, a phan wl ddrygioni, onid yw'n sylwi arno?
11For he knows false men. He sees iniquity also, even though he doesn’t consider it.
12 A ddaw'r dwl yn ddeallus asyn gwyllt yn cael ei eni'n ddyn?
12An empty-headed man becomes wise when a man is born as a wild donkey’s colt.
13 "Os cyfeiri dy feddwl yn iawn, fe estynni dy ddwylo tuag ato;
13“If you set your heart aright, stretch out your hands toward him.
14 ac os oes drygioni ynot, bwrw ef ymhell oddi wrthyt, ac na thriged anghyfiawnder yn dy bebyll;
14If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away. Don’t let unrighteousness dwell in your tents.
15 yna gelli godi dy olwg heb gywilydd, a byddi'n gadarn a di-ofn.
15Surely then you shall lift up your face without spot; Yes, you shall be steadfast, and shall not fear:
16 Fe anghofi orthrymder; fel du373?r a giliodd y cofi amdano.
16for you shall forget your misery. You shall remember it as waters that are passed away.
17 Bydd gyrfa bywyd yn oleuach na chanol dydd, a'r gwyll fel boreddydd.
17Life shall be clearer than the noonday. Though there is darkness, it shall be as the morning.
18 Byddi'n hyderus am fod gobaith, ac wedi edrych o'th gwmpas, fe orweddi'n ddiogel.
18You shall be secure, because there is hope. Yes, you shall search, and shall take your rest in safety.
19 Fe orffwysi heb neb i'th ddychryn; a bydd llawer yn ceisio dy ffafr.
19Also you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. Yes, many shall court your favor.
20 Palla llygaid y drygionus, diflanna ymwared oddi wrthynt, a'u gobaith yw'r anadl olaf."
20But the eyes of the wicked shall fail. They shall have no way to flee. Their hope shall be the giving up of the spirit.”
