1 Y mae gwythen i arian, a gwely i'r aur a burir.
1“Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place for gold which they refine.
2 Tynnir yr haearn o'r ddaear, a thoddir y garreg yn gopr.
2Iron is taken out of the earth, and copper is smelted out of the ore.
3 Rhydd dyn derfyn ar dywyllwch, a chwilio hyd yr eithaf am y mwyn yn y tywyllwch dudew.
3Man sets an end to darkness, and searches out, to the furthest bound, the stones of obscurity and of thick darkness.
4 Agorir pyllau yn y cymoedd ymhell oddi wrth bawb; fe'u hanghofiwyd gan y teithwyr. Y maent yn hongian ymhell o olwg pobl, gan siglo'n l ac ymlaen.
4He breaks open a shaft away from where people live. They are forgotten by the foot. They hang far from men, they swing back and forth.
5 Ceir bwyd o'r ddaear, eto oddi tani y mae wedi ei chynhyrfu fel gan dn.
5As for the earth, out of it comes bread; Underneath it is turned up as it were by fire.
6 Y mae ei cherrig yn ffynhonnell y saffir, a llwch aur sydd ynddi.
6Sapphires come from its rocks. It has dust of gold.
7 Y mae llwybr na u373?yr hebog amdano, ac nas gwelwyd gan lygad barcud,
7That path no bird of prey knows, neither has the falcon’s eye seen it.
8 ac nas troediwyd gan anifeiliaid rhodresgar, ac na theithiodd y llew arno.
8The proud animals have not trodden it, nor has the fierce lion passed by there.
9 Estyn dyn ei law am y gallestr, a thry'r mynyddoedd yn bendramwnwgl.
9He puts forth his hand on the flinty rock, and he overturns the mountains by the roots.
10 Egyr dwnelau yn y creigiau, a gwl ei lygaid bopeth gwerthfawr.
10He cuts out channels among the rocks. His eye sees every precious thing.
11 Gesyd argae i rwystro lli'r afonydd, a dwg i oleuni yr hyn a guddiwyd ynddynt.
11He binds the streams that they don’t trickle. The thing that is hidden he brings forth to light.
12 Ond pa le y ceir doethineb? a pha le y mae trigfan deall?
12“But where shall wisdom be found? Where is the place of understanding?
13 Ni u373?yr neb ble mae ei chartref, ac nis ceir yn nhir y byw.
13Man doesn’t know its price; Neither is it found in the land of the living.
14 Dywed y dyfnder, "Nid yw gyda mi"; dywed y mr yntau, "Nid yw ynof fi."
14The deep says, ‘It isn’t in me.’ The sea says, ‘It isn’t with me.’
15 Ni ellir rhoi aur yn dl amdani, na phwyso'i gwerth mewn arian.
15It can’t be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for its price.
16 Ni ellir mesur ei gwerth ag aur Offir, nac ychwaith 'r onyx gwerthfawr na'r saffir.
16It can’t be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire or, lapis lazuli .
17 Ni ellir cymharu ei gwerth ag aur neu risial, na'i chyfnewid am unrhyw lestr aur.
17Gold and glass can’t equal it, neither shall it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.
18 Ni bydd sn am gwrel a grisial; y mae meddu doethineb yn well na gemau.
18No mention shall be made of coral or of crystal. Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies.
19 Ni ellir cymharu ei gwerth 'r topas o Ethiopia, ac nid ag aur coeth y prisir hi.
19The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, Neither shall it be valued with pure gold.
20 O ble y daw doethineb? a phle mae trigfan deall?
20Where then does wisdom come from? Where is the place of understanding?
21 Cuddiwyd hi oddi wrth lygaid popeth byw, a hefyd oddi wrth adar y nefoedd.
21Seeing it is hidden from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the birds of the sky.
22 Dywedodd Abadon a marwolaeth, "Clywsom 'n clustiau sn amdani."
22Destruction and Death say, ‘We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.’
23 Duw sy'n deall ei ffordd; y mae ef yn gwybod ei lle.
23“God understands its way, and he knows its place.
24 Oherwydd gall ef edrych i derfynau'r ddaear, a gweld popeth sy dan y nefoedd.
24For he looks to the ends of the earth, and sees under the whole sky.
25 Pan roddodd ef ei bwysau i'r gwynt, a rhannu'r dyfroedd mesur,
25He establishes the force of the wind. Yes, he measures out the waters by measure.
26 a gosod terfyn i'r glaw, a ffordd i'r mellt a'r taranau,
26When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder;
27 yna fe'i gwelodd hi a'i mynegi, fe'i sefydlodd hi a'i chwilio allan.
27then he saw it, and declared it. He established it, yes, and searched it out.
28 A dywedodd wrth ddynolryw, "Ofn yr ARGLWYDD yw doethineb, a chilio oddi wrth ddrwg yw deall."
28To man he said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” , that is wisdom. To depart from evil is understanding.’”
