1 "Gwneuthum gytundeb 'm llygaid i beidio llygadu merch.
1“I made a covenant with my eyes, how then should I look lustfully at a young woman?
2 Beth yw fy nhynged gan Dduw oddi uchod, a'm cyfran gan yr Hollalluog o'r uchelder?
2For what is the portion from God above, and the heritage from the Almighty on high?
3 Oni ddaw dinistr ar y twyllodrus, ac aflwydd i'r drygionus?
3Is it not calamity to the unrighteous, and disaster to the workers of iniquity?
4 Onid yw ef yn sylwi ar fy ffyrdd, ac yn cyfrif fy nghamau?
4Doesn’t he see my ways, and number all my steps?
5 A euthum ar l oferedd, a phrysuro fy ngherddediad i dwyllo?
5“If I have walked with falsehood, and my foot has hurried to deceit
6 Pwyser fi mewn cloriannau cywir i Dduw gael gweld fy nghywirdeb.
6(let me be weighed in an even balance, that God may know my integrity);
7 Os gwyrodd fy ngham oddi ar y ffordd, a'm calon yn dilyn fy llygaid, neu os glynodd unrhyw aflendid wrth fy nwylo,
7if my step has turned out of the way, if my heart walked after my eyes, if any defilement has stuck to my hands,
8 yna caiff arall fwyta'r hyn a heuais, a diwreiddir yr hyn a blennais.
8then let me sow, and let another eat. Yes, let the produce of my field be rooted out.
9 "Os denwyd fy nghalon gan ddynes, ac os bm yn llercian wrth ddrws fy nghymydog,
9“If my heart has been enticed to a woman, and I have laid wait at my neighbor’s door,
10 yna caiff fy ngwraig innau falu blawd i arall, a chaiff dieithryn orwedd gyda hi.
10then let my wife grind for another, and let others sleep with her.
11 Oherwydd byddai hynny'n anllad, ac yn drosedd i'r barnwyr;
11For that would be a heinous crime. Yes, it would be an iniquity to be punished by the judges:
12 byddai fel tn yn difa'n llwyr, ac yn dinistrio fy holl gynnyrch.
12For it is a fire that consumes to destruction, and would root out all my increase.
13 "Os diystyrais achos fy ngwas neu fy morwyn pan oedd ganddynt gu373?yn yn fy erbyn,
13“If I have despised the cause of my male servant or of my female servant, when they contended with me;
14 beth a wnaf pan gyfyd Duw? Beth a atebaf pan ddaw i'm cyhuddo?
14What then shall I do when God rises up? When he visits, what shall I answer him?
15 Onid ef a'n gwnaeth ni'n dau yn y groth, a'n creu yn y bru?
15Didn’t he who made me in the womb make him? Didn’t one fashion us in the womb?
16 "Os rhwystrais y tlawd rhag cael ei ddymuniad, neu siomi disgwyliad y weddw;
16“If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
17 os bwyteais fy mwyd ar fy mhen fy hun, a gwrthod ei rannu 'r amddifad
17or have eaten my morsel alone, and the fatherless has not eaten of it
18 yn wir bm fel tad yn ei fagu o'i ieuenctid, ac yn ei arwain o adeg ei eni
18(no, from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, her have I guided from my mother’s womb);
19 os gwelais grwydryn heb ddillad, neu dlotyn heb wisg,
19if I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or that the needy had no covering;
20 a'i lwynau heb fy mendithio am na chynheswyd ef gan gnu fy u373?yn;
20if his heart hasn’t blessed me, if he hasn’t been warmed with my sheep’s fleece;
21 os codais fy llaw yn erbyn yr amddifad am fy mod yn gweld cefnogaeth imi yn y porth;
21if I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, because I saw my help in the gate,
22 yna disgynned f'ysgwydd o'i lle, a thorrer fy mraich o'i chyswllt.
22then let my shoulder fall from the shoulder blade, and my arm be broken from the bone.
23 Yn wir y mae ofn dinistr Duw arnaf, ac ni allaf wynebu ei fawredd.
23For calamity from God is a terror to me. Because his majesty, I can do nothing.
24 "Os rhoddais fy hyder ar aur, a meddwl am ddiogelwch mewn aur coeth;
24“If I have made gold my hope, and have said to the fine gold, ‘You are my confidence;’
25 os llawenychais am fod fy nghyfoeth yn fawr, a bod cymaint yn fy meddiant;
25If I have rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because my hand had gotten much;
26 os edrychais ar yr haul yn tywynnu, a'r lleuad tra parhi'n ddisglair,
26if I have seen the sun when it shined, or the moon moving in splendor,
27 ac os cafodd fy nghalon ei hudo'n ddirgel, a chusanu fy llaw mewn gwrogaeth;
27and my heart has been secretly enticed, and my hand threw a kiss from my mouth,
28 byddai hyn hefyd yn drosedd i'm barnwr, oherwydd imi wadu Duw uchod.
28this also would be an iniquity to be punished by the judges; for I should have denied the God who is above.
29 "A lawenychais am drychineb fy ngelyn, ac ymffrostio pan ddaeth drwg arno?
29“If I have rejoiced at the destruction of him who hated me, or lifted up myself when evil found him;
30 Ni adewais i'm tafod bechu trwy osod ei einioes dan felltith.
30(yes, I have not allowed my mouth to sin by asking his life with a curse);
31 Oni ddywedodd y dynion yn fy mhabell, 'Pwy sydd na ddigonwyd ganddo bwyd?'?
31if the men of my tent have not said, ‘Who can find one who has not been filled with his meat?’
32 Ni chafodd y dieithryn gysgu allan; agorais fy nrws i'r crwydryn.
32(the foreigner has not lodged in the street, but I have opened my doors to the traveler);
33 A guddiais fy nhroseddau fel y gwna eraill, trwy gadw fy nghamwedd yn fy mynwes,
33if like Adam I have covered my transgressions, by hiding my iniquity in my heart,
34 am fy mod yn ofni'r dyrfa, a bod dirmyg cymdeithas yn fy nychryn, a minnau'n cadw'n dawel heb fynd allan?
34because I feared the great multitude, and the contempt of families terrified me, so that I kept silence, and didn’t go out of the door—
35 O na fyddai rhywun yn gwrando arnaf! Deuthum i'r terfyn; caiff yr Hollalluog yn awr fy ateb, a chaiff fy ngwrthwynebwr ysgrifennu'r wu375?s.
35oh that I had one to hear me! (behold, here is my signature, let the Almighty answer me); let the accuser write my indictment!
36 Yn wir dygaf hi ar f'ysgwyddau, a'i gwisgo fel coron ar fy mhen.
36Surely I would carry it on my shoulder; and I would bind it to me as a crown.
37 Rhof gyfrif iddo o'm camau, a nesu ato fel tywysog.
37I would declare to him the number of my steps. as a prince would I go near to him.
38 Os gwaeddodd fy nhir yn f'erbyn, a'i gwysi i gyd yn wylo;
38If my land cries out against me, and its furrows weep together;
39 os bwyteais ei gynnyrch heb dalu amdano, ac ennyn atgasedd ei berchenogion;
39if I have eaten its fruits without money, or have caused its owners to lose their life,
40 yna tyfed mieri yn lle gwenith, a chwyn yn lle haidd." Dyma derfyn geiriau Job.
40let briars grow instead of wheat, and stinkweed instead of barley.” The words of Job are ended.
