Job

5

1 "Galw'n awr; a oes rhywun a'th etyb? At ba un o'r rhai sanctaidd y gelli droi?
1“Call now; is there any who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn?
2 Y mae dicter yn lladd yr ynfyd, a chenfigen yn dwyn angau i'r ffl.
2For resentment kills the foolish man, and jealousy kills the simple.
3 Gwelais yr ynfyd yn magu gwraidd, ond ar fyrder melltithiwyd ei drigfan;
3I have seen the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
4 ac aeth ei blant y tu hwnt i ymwared, wedi eu sathru yn y porth, heb neb i'w hachub.
4His children are far from safety. They are crushed in the gate. Neither is there any to deliver them,
5 Y mae'r newynog yn bwyta'i gynhaeaf ef, ac yn ei gymryd hyd yn oed o blith y drain; ac y mae'r sychedig yn dyheu am eu cyfoeth.
5whose harvest the hungry eats up, and take it even out of the thorns. The snare gapes for their substance.
6 Canys nid o'r pridd y daw gofid, nac o'r ddaear orthrymder;
6For affliction doesn’t come forth from the dust, neither does trouble spring out of the ground;
7 ond genir dynion i orthrymder, cyn sicred ag y tasga'r gwreichion.
7but man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
8 "Ond myfi, ceisio Duw a wnawn i, a gosod fy achos o'i flaen ef,
8“But as for me, I would seek God. I would commit my cause to God,
9 yr un a gyflawna weithredoedd mawr ac anchwiliadwy, rhyfeddodau dirifedi.
9who does great things that can’t be fathomed, marvelous things without number;
10 Ef sy'n tywallt y glaw ar y ddaear, a'r dyfroedd ar y meysydd.
10who gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields;
11 Y mae'n codi'r rhai isel i fyny, a dyrchefir y galarwyr i ddiogelwch.
11so that he sets up on high those who are low, those who mourn are exalted to safety.
12 Y mae'n diddymu cynllwynion y cyfrwys; ni all eu dwylo wneud dim o fudd.
12He frustrates the devices of the crafty, So that their hands can’t perform their enterprise.
13 Y mae ef yn dal y doethion yn eu cyfrwystra, a buan y diflanna cynllun y dichellgar.
13He takes the wise in their own craftiness; the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.
14 Brwydrant thywyllwch hyd yn oed liw dydd, ac ymbalfalant ganol dydd fel yn y nos.
14They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope at noonday as in the night.
15 Ond gwared ef yr anghenus o'u gafael, a'r truan o afael y cryf.
15But he saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty.
16 Am hynny y mae gobaith i'r tlawd, ac anghyfiawnder yn cau ei safn.
16So the poor has hope, and injustice shuts her mouth.
17 "Dedwydd y sawl a gerydda Duw, ac na wrthyd ddisgyblaeth yr Hollalluog.
17“Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
18 Ef a ddoluria, ac ef hefyd a rwyma'r dolur; ef a archolla, ond rhydd ei ddwylo feddyginiaeth.
18For he wounds, and binds up. He injures, and his hands make whole.
19 Fe'th wared di rhag chwe chyfyngder; ac mewn saith, ni ddaw drwg arnat.
19He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven no evil shall touch you.
20 Fe'th achub di rhag marw mewn newyn, a rhag y cleddyf mewn brwydr.
20In famine he will redeem you from death; in war, from the power of the sword.
21 Cei loches rhag ffrewyll y tafod, ac nid ofni'r dinistr pan ddaw.
21You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, neither shall you be afraid of destruction when it comes.
22 Chwerddi ar ddinistr a newyn, ac ni'th ddychrynir gan fwystfil gwyllt.
22At destruction and famine you shall laugh, neither shall you be afraid of the animals of the earth.
23 Byddi mewn cynghrair cherrig y tir, a bydd y bwystfil gwyllt mewn heddwch thi.
23For you shall be allied with the stones of the field. The animals of the field shall be at peace with you.
24 Yna gweli fod dy babell yn ddiogel, a phan rifi dy ddiadell, ni bydd un ar goll.
24You shall know that your tent is in peace. You shall visit your fold, and shall miss nothing.
25 Canfyddi hefyd mai niferus yw dy dylwyth, a'th epil fel gwellt y maes.
25You shall know also that your seed shall be great, Your offspring as the grass of the earth.
26 Ei i'r bedd mewn henaint teg, fel y cesglir ysgub yn ei phryd.
26You shall come to your grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.
27 Chwiliasom hyn yn ddyfal, ac y mae'n wir; gwrando dithau arno, a deall drosot dy hun."
27Look this, we have searched it, so it is. Hear it, and know it for your good.”
