1 Wedi iddo orffen llefaru'r holl eiriau hyn wrth y bobl, aeth i mewn i Gapernaum.
1After he had finished speaking in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
2 Yr oedd canwriad ac iddo was, gwerthfawr yn ei olwg, a oedd yn glaf ac ar fin marw.
2A certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and at the point of death.
3 Pan glywodd y canwriad am Iesu anfonodd ato henuriaid o Iddewon, i ofyn iddo ddod ac achub bywyd ei was.
3When he heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and save his servant.
4 Daethant hwy at Iesu ac ymbil yn daer arno: "Y mae'n haeddu iti wneud hyn drosto,
4When they came to Jesus, they begged him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy for you to do this for him,
5 oherwydd y mae'n caru ein cenedl, ac ef a adeiladodd ein synagog i ni."
5for he loves our nation, and he built our synagogue for us.”
6 Pan oedd Iesu ar ei ffordd gyda hwy ac eisoes heb fod ymhell o'r tu375?, anfonodd y canwriad rai o'i gyfeillion i ddweud wrtho, "Paid thrafferthu, syr, oherwydd nid wyf yn deilwng i ti ddod dan fy nho.
6Jesus went with them. When he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I am not worthy for you to come under my roof.
7 Am hynny bernais nad oeddwn i fy hun yn deilwng i ddod atat; ond dywed air, a chaffed fy ngwas ei iachu.
7Therefore I didn’t even think myself worthy to come to you; but say the word, and my servant will be healed.
8 Oherwydd dyn sy'n cael ei osod dan awdurdod wyf finnau, a chennyf filwyr danaf; byddaf yn dweud wrth hwn, 'Dos', ac fe , ac wrth un arall, 'Tyrd', ac fe ddaw, ac wrth fy ngwas, 'Gwna hyn', ac fe'i gwna."
8For I also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
9 Pan glywodd Iesu hyn fe ryfeddodd at y dyn, a chan droi at y dyrfa oedd yn ei ddilyn meddai, "Rwy'n dweud wrthych, ni chefais hyd yn oed yn Israel ffydd mor fawr."
9When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned and said to the multitude who followed him, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel.”
10 Ac wedi i'r rhai a anfonwyd ddychwelyd i'r tu375?, cawsant y gwas yn holliach.
10Those who were sent, returning to the house, found that the servant who had been sick was well.
11 Yn fuan wedyn aeth Iesu i dref a elwir Nain. Gydag ef ar y daith yr oedd ei ddisgyblion a thyrfa fawr.
11It happened soon afterwards, that he went to a city called Nain. Many of his disciples, along with a great multitude, went with him.
12 Pan gyrhaeddodd yn agos at borth y dref, dyma gynhebrwng yn dod allan; unig fab ei fam oedd y marw, a hithau'n wraig weddw. Yr oedd tyrfa niferus o'r dref gyda hi.
12Now when he drew near to the gate of the city, behold, one who was dead was carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. Many people of the city were with her.
13 Pan welodd yr Arglwydd hi, tosturiodd wrthi a dweud, "Paid ag wylo."
13When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her, “Don’t cry.”
14 Yna aeth ymlaen a chyffwrdd 'r elor. Safodd y cludwyr, ac meddai ef, "Fy machgen, rwy'n dweud wrthyt, cod."
14He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I tell you, arise!”
15 Cododd y marw ar ei eistedd a dechrau siarad, a rhoes Iesu ef i'w fam.
15He who was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother.
16 Cydiodd ofn ym mhawb a dech-reusant ogoneddu Duw, gan ddweud, "Y mae proffwyd mawr wedi codi yn ein plith", ac, "Y mae Duw wedi ymweld 'i bobl."
16Fear took hold of all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us!” and, “God has visited his people!”
17 Ac aeth yr hanes hwn amdano drwy Jwdea gyfan a'r holl gymdogaeth.
17This report went out concerning him in the whole of Judea, and in all the surrounding region.
18 Rhoes disgyblion Ioan adroddiad iddo ynglu375?n hyn oll.
18The disciples of John told him about all these things.
19 Galwodd yntau ddau o'i ddisgyblion ato a'u hanfon at yr Arglwydd, gan ofyn, "Ai ti yw'r hwn sydd i ddod, ai am rywun arall yr ydym i ddisgwyl?"
19John, calling to himself two of his disciples, sent them to Jesus, saying, “Are you the one who is coming, or should we look for another?”
20 Daeth y ddau ato a dweud, "Anfonodd Ioan Fedyddiwr ni atat, gan ofyn, 'Ai ti yw'r hwn sydd i ddod, ai am rywun arall yr ydym i ddisgwyl?'"
20When the men had come to him, they said, “John the Baptizer has sent us to you, saying, ‘Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?’”
21 Y pryd hwnnw iachaodd ef lawer o afael afiechydon a phlu ac ysbrydion drwg, a rhoes eu golwg i lawer o ddeillion.
21In that hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits; and to many who were blind he gave sight.
22 Ac atebodd ef hwy, "Ewch a dywedwch wrth Ioan yr hyn yr ydych wedi ei weld ac wedi ei glywed. Y mae'r deillion yn cael eu golwg yn l, y cloffion yn cerdded, y gwahangleifion yn cael eu glanhau a'r byddariaid yn clywed, y meirw yn codi, y tlodion yn cael clywed y newydd da.
22Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John the things which you have seen and heard: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
23 Gwyn ei fyd y sawl na ddaw cwymp iddo o'm hachos i."
23 Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”
24 Wedi i neges-yddion Ioan ymadael, dechreuodd Iesu sn am Ioan wrth y tyrfaoedd. "Beth yr aethoch allan i'r anialwch i edrych arno? Ai brwynen yn siglo yn y gwynt?
24When John’s messengers had departed, he began to tell the multitudes about John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
25 Beth yr aethoch allan i'w weld? Ai rhywun wedi ei wisgo mewn dillad esmwyth? Ym mhlasau brenhinoedd y mae gweld dynion moethus mewn gwisgoedd ysblennydd.
25 But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft clothing? Behold, those who are gorgeously dressed, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts.
26 Beth yr aethoch allan i'w weld? Ai proffwyd? Ie, meddaf wrthych, a mwy na phroffwyd.
26 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
27 Dyma'r un y mae'n ysgrifenedig amdano: 'Wele fi'n anfon fy nghennad o'th flaen, i baratoi'r ffordd ar dy gyfer.'
27 This is he of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’ Malachi 3:1
28 Rwy'n dweud wrthych, nid oes ymhlith meibion gwragedd neb mwy na Ioan; ac eto y mae'r lleiaf yn nheyrnas Dduw yn fwy nag ef."
28 “For I tell you, among those who are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptizer, yet he who is least in the Kingdom of God is greater than he.”
29 (A chydnabod cyfiawnder Duw a wnaeth yr holl bobl a glywodd, a'r casglwyr trethi hefyd, oherwydd yr oeddent wedi derbyn bedydd Ioan;
29When all the people and the tax collectors heard this, they declared God to be just, having been baptized with John’s baptism.
30 ond troi heibio fwriad Duw ar eu cyfer a wnaeth y Phariseaid ac athrawon y Gyfraith, oherwydd yr oeddent hwy wedi gwrthod cael eu bedyddio ganddo.)
30But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God, not being baptized by him themselves.
31 " phwy gan hynny y cymharaf bobl y genhedlaeth hon? I bwy y maent yn debyg?
31 TR adds “But the Lord said,” “To what then will I liken the people of this generation? What are they like?
32 Y maent yn debyg i'r plant sy'n eistedd yn y farchnad ac yn galw ar ei gilydd fel hyn: 'Canasom ffliwt i chwi, ac ni ddawnsiasoch; canasom alarnad, ac nid wylasoch.'
32 They are like children who sit in the marketplace, and call one to another, saying, ‘We piped to you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned, and you didn’t weep.’
33 Oherwydd y mae Ioan Fedyddiwr wedi dod, un nad yw'n bwyta bara nac yn yfed gwin, ac yr ydych yn dweud, 'Y mae cythraul ynddo.'
33 For John the Baptizer came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’
34 Y mae Mab y Dyn wedi dod, un sy'n bwyta ac yn yfed, ac yr ydych yn dweud, 'Dyma feddwyn glwth, cyfaill i gasglwyr trethi a phechaduriaid.'
34 The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man, and a drunkard; a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’
35 Ac eto profir gan bawb o'i phlant fod doethineb Duw yn gywir."
35 Wisdom is justified by all her children.”
36 Gwahoddodd un o'r Phariseaid Iesu i bryd o fwyd gydag ef. Aeth ef i du375?'r Pharisead a chymryd ei le wrth y bwrdd.
36One of the Pharisees invited him to eat with him. He entered into the Pharisee’s house, and sat at the table.
37 A dyma wraig o'r dref oedd yn bechadures yn dod i wybod ei fod wrth bryd bwyd yn nhu375?'r Pharisead. Daeth ffiol alabastr o ennaint,
37Behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that he was reclining in the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster jar of ointment.
38 a sefyll y tu l iddo wrth ei draed gan wylo. Yna dechreuodd wlychu ei draed 'i dagrau a'u sychu gwallt ei phen; ac yr oedd yn cusanu ei draed ac yn eu hiro 'r ennaint.
38Standing behind at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, and she wiped them with the hair of her head, kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
39 Pan welodd hyn dywedodd y Pharisead oedd wedi ei wahodd wrtho'i hun, "Pe bai hwn yn broffwyd, byddai'n gwybod pwy yw'r wraig sy'n cyffwrdd ag ef, a sut un yw hi. Pechadures yw hi."
39Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he said to himself, “This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what kind of woman this is who touches him, that she is a sinner.”
40 Atebodd Iesu ef, "Simon, y mae gennyf rywbeth i'w ddweud wrthyt." Meddai yntau, "Dywed, Athro."
40Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.” He said, “Teacher, say on.”
41 "Yr oedd gan fenthyciwr arian ddau ddyledwr," meddai Iesu. "Pum cant o ddarnau arian oedd dyled un, a hanner cant oedd ar y llall.
41 “A certain lender had two debtors. The one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
42 Gan nad oeddent yn gallu talu'n l, diddymodd y benthyciwr eu dyled i'r ddau. Prun ohonynt, gan hynny, fydd yn ei garu fwyaf?"
42 When they couldn’t pay, he forgave them both. Which of them therefore will love him most?”
43 Atebodd Simon, "Fe dybiwn i mai'r un y diddymwyd y ddyled fwyaf iddo." "Bernaist yn gywir," meddai ef wrtho.
43Simon answered, “He, I suppose, to whom he forgave the most.” He said to him, “You have judged correctly.”
44 A chan droi at y wraig, meddai wrth Simon, "A weli di'r wraig hon? Deuthum i mewn i'th du375?, ac ni roddaist ddu373?r imi at fy nhraed; ond hon, gwlychodd hi fy nhraed 'i dagrau a'u sychu 'i gwallt.
44Turning to the woman, he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, and you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head.
45 Ni roddaist gusan imi; ond nid yw hon wedi peidio chusanu fy nhraed byth er pan ddeuthum i mewn.
45 You gave me no kiss, but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss my feet.
46 Nid iraist fy mhen ag olew; ond irodd hon fy nhraed ag ennaint.
46 You didn’t anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment.
47 Am hynny rwy'n dweud wrthyt, y mae ei phechodau, er cynifer ydynt, wedi eu maddau; oherwydd y mae ei chariad yn fawr. Os mai ychydig a faddeuwyd i rywun, ychydig yw ei gariad."
47 Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”
48 Ac wrth y wraig meddai, "Y mae dy bechodau wedi eu maddau."
48He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
49 Yna dechreuodd y gwesteion eraill ddweud wrthynt eu hunain, "Pwy yw hwn sydd hyd yn oed yn maddau pechodau?"
49Those who sat at the table with him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
50 Ac meddai ef wrth y wraig, "Y mae dy ffydd wedi dy achub di; dos mewn tangnefedd."
50He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
