1 Yn y dyddiau hynny, a'r dyrfa unwaith eto'n fawr a heb ddim i'w fwyta, galwodd ei ddisgyblion ato, ac meddai wrthynt,
1In those days, when there was a very great multitude, and they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to himself, and said to them,
2 "Yr wyf yn tosturio wrth y dyrfa, oherwydd y maent wedi bod gyda mi dridiau erbyn hyn, ac nid oes ganddynt ddim i'w fwyta.
2 “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have stayed with me now three days, and have nothing to eat.
3 Ac os anfonaf hwy adref ar eu cythlwng, llewygant ar y ffordd; y mae rhai ohonynt wedi dod o bell."
3 If I send them away fasting to their home, they will faint on the way, for some of them have come a long way.”
4 Atebodd ei ddisgyblion ef, "Sut y gall neb gael digon o fara i fwydo'r rhain mewn lle anial fel hyn?"
4His disciples answered him, “From where could one satisfy these people with bread here in a deserted place?”
5 Gofynnodd iddynt, "Pa sawl torth sydd gennych?" "Saith," meddent hwythau.
5He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven.”
6 Gorch-mynnodd i'r dyrfa eistedd ar y ddaear. Yna cymerodd y saith torth, ac wedi diolch fe'u torrodd a'u rhoi i'w ddisgyblion i'w gosod gerbron; ac fe'u gosodasant gerbron y dyrfa.
6He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground, and he took the seven loaves. Having given thanks, he broke them, and gave them to his disciples to serve, and they served the multitude.
7 Ac yr oedd ganddynt ychydig o bysgod bychain; ac wedi eu bendithio, dywedodd am osod y rhain hefyd ger eu bron.
7They had a few small fish. Having blessed them, he said to serve these also.
8 Bwytasant a chael digon, a chodasant y tameidiau oedd yn weddill, lond saith cawell.
8They ate, and were filled. They took up seven baskets of broken pieces that were left over.
9 Yr oedd tua phedair mil ohonynt. Gollyngodd hwy ymaith.
9Those who had eaten were about four thousand. Then he sent them away.
10 Ac yna aeth i mewn i'r cwch gyda'i ddisgyblion, a daeth i ardal Dalmanwtha.
10Immediately he entered into the boat with his disciples, and came into the region of Dalmanutha.
11 Daeth y Phariseaid allan a dechrau dadlau ag ef. Yr oeddent yn ceisio ganddo arwydd o'r nef, i roi prawf arno.
11The Pharisees came out and began to question him, seeking from him a sign from heaven, and testing him.
12 Ochneidiodd yn ddwys ynddo'i hun. "Pam," meddai, "y mae'r genhedlaeth hon yn ceisio arwydd? Yn wir, rwy'n dweud wrthych, ni roddir arwydd i'r genhedlaeth hon."
12He sighed deeply in his spirit, and said, “Why does this generation The word translated “generation” here (genea) could also be translated “people,” “race,” or “family.” seek a sign? Most certainly I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation.”
13 A gadawodd hwy a mynd i'r cwch drachefn a hwylio ymaith i'r ochr draw.
13He left them, and again entering into the boat, departed to the other side.
14 Yr oeddent wedi anghofio dod bara, ac nid oedd ganddynt ond un dorth gyda hwy yn y cwch.
14They forgot to take bread; and they didn’t have more than one loaf in the boat with them.
15 A dechreuodd eu siarsio, gan ddweud, "Gwyliwch, ymogelwch rhag surdoes y Phariseaid a surdoes Herod."
15He warned them, saying, “Take heed: beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod.”
16 Ac yr oeddent yn trafod ymhlith ei gilydd y ffaith nad oedd ganddynt fara.
16They reasoned with one another, saying, “It’s because we have no bread.”
17 Deallodd yntau hyn, ac meddai wrthynt, "Pam yr ydych yn trafod nad oes gennych fara? A ydych eto heb weld na deall? A yw eich meddwl wedi troi'n ystyfnig?
17Jesus, perceiving it, said to them, “Why do you reason that it’s because you have no bread? Don’t you perceive yet, neither understand? Is your heart still hardened?
18 A llygaid gennych, onid ydych yn gweld, ac a chlustiau gennych, onid ydych yn clywed? Onid ydych yn cofio?
18 Having eyes, don’t you see? Having ears, don’t you hear? Don’t you remember?
19 Pan dorrais y pum torth i'r pum mil, pa sawl basgedaid lawn o dameidiau a godasoch?" Meddent wrtho, "Deuddeg."
19 When I broke the five loaves among the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” They told him, “Twelve.”
20 "Pan dorrais y saith i'r pedair mil, llond pa sawl cawell o dameidiau a godasoch?" "Saith," meddent.
20 “When the seven loaves fed the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” They told him, “Seven.”
21 Ac meddai ef wrthynt, "Onid ydych eto'n deall?"
21He asked them, “Don’t you understand, yet?”
22 Daethant i Bethsaida. A dyma hwy'n dod dyn dall ato, ac yn erfyn arno i gyffwrdd ag ef.
22He came to Bethsaida. They brought a blind man to him, and begged him to touch him.
23 Gafaelodd yn llaw'r dyn dall a mynd ag ef allan o'r pentref, ac wedi poeri ar ei lygaid rhoes ei ddwylo arno a gofynnodd iddo, "A elli di weld rhywbeth?"
23He took hold of the blind man by the hand, and brought him out of the village. When he had spit on his eyes, and laid his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything.
24 Edrychodd i fyny, ac meddai, "Yr wyf yn gweld pobl, maent yn edrych fel coed yn cerdded oddi amgylch."
24He looked up, and said, “I see men; for I see them like trees walking.”
25 Yna rhoes ei ddwylo drachefn ar ei lygaid ef. Craffodd yntau, ac adferwyd ef; yr oedd yn gweld popeth yn eglur o bell.
25Then again he laid his hands on his eyes. He looked intently, and was restored, and saw everyone clearly.
26 Anfonodd ef adref, gan ddweud, "Paid mynd i mewn i'r pentref."
26He sent him away to his house, saying, “Don’t enter into the village, nor tell anyone in the village.”
27 Aeth Iesu a'i ddisgyblion allan i bentrefi Cesarea Philipi, ac ar y ffordd holodd ei ddisgyblion: "Pwy," meddai wrthynt, "y mae pobl yn dweud ydwyf fi?"
27Jesus went out, with his disciples, into the villages of Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked his disciples, “Who do men say that I am?”
28 Dywedasant hwythau wrtho, "Mae rhai'n dweud Ioan Fedyddiwr, ac eraill Elias, ac eraill drachefn, un o'r proffwydi."
28They told him, “John the Baptizer, and others say Elijah, but others: one of the prophets.”
29 Gofynnodd ef iddynt, "A chwithau, pwy meddwch chwi ydwyf fi?" Atebodd Pedr ef, "Ti yw'r Meseia."
29He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ.”
30 Rhybuddiodd hwy i beidio dweud wrth neb amdano.
30He commanded them that they should tell no one about him.
31 Yna dechreuodd eu dysgu bod yn rhaid i Fab y Dyn ddioddef llawer, a chael ei wrthod gan yr henuriaid a'r prif offeiriaid a'r ysgrifenyddion, a'i ladd, ac ymhen tridiau atgyfodi.
31He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
32 Yr oedd yn llefaru'r gair hwn yn gwbl agored. A chymerodd Pedr ef ato a dechrau ei geryddu.
32He spoke to them openly. Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.
33 Troes yntau, ac wedi edrych ar ei ddisgyblion ceryddodd Pedr. "Dos ymaith o'm golwg, Satan," meddai, "oherwydd nid ar bethau Duw y mae dy fryd ond ar bethau dynol."
33But he, turning around, and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, and said, “Get behind me, Satan! For you have in mind not the things of God, but the things of men.”
34 Galwodd ato'r dyrfa ynghyd 'i ddisgyblion a dywedodd wrthynt, "Os myn neb ddod ar fy l i, rhaid iddo ymwadu ag ef ei hun a chodi ei groes a'm canlyn i.
34He called the multitude to himself with his disciples, and said to them, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
35 Oherwydd pwy bynnag a fyn gadw ei fywyd, fe'i cyll, ond pwy bynnag a gyll ei fywyd er fy mwyn i a'r Efengyl, fe'i ceidw.
35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the sake of the Good News will save it.
36 Pa elw a gaiff rhywun o ennill yr holl fyd a fforffedu ei fywyd?
36 For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life?
37 Oherwydd beth a all rhywun ei roi'n gyfnewid am ei fywyd?
37 For what will a man give in exchange for his life?
38 Pwy bynnag fydd chywilydd ohonof fi ac o'm geiriau yn y genhedlaeth annuwiol a phechadurus hon, bydd ar Fab y Dyn hefyd gywilydd ohonynt hwy, pan ddaw yng ngogoniant ei Dad gyda'r angylion sanctaidd."
38 For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
