Matthew

11

1 Pan orffennodd Iesu ddysgu ei ddeuddeg disgybl, symudodd oddi yno er mwyn dysgu a phregethu yn eu trefi hwy.
1It happened that when Jesus had finished directing his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and preach in their cities.
2 Pan glywodd Ioan yn y carchar am weithredoedd Crist, anfonodd trwy ei ddisgyblion
2Now when John heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples
3 a gofyn iddo, "Ai ti yw'r hwn sydd i ddod, ai am rywun arall yr ydym i ddisgwyl?"
3and said to him, “Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?”
4 Ac atebodd Iesu hwy, "Ewch a dywedwch wrth Ioan yr hyn yr ydych yn ei glywed ac yn ei weld.
4Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
5 Y mae'r deillion yn cael eu golwg yn l, y cloffion yn cerdded, y gwahangleifion yn cael eu glanhau a'r byddariaid yn clywed, y meirw yn codi, y tlodion yn cael clywed y newydd da.
5 the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
6 Gwyn ei fyd y sawl na fydd yn cwympo o'm hachos i."
6 Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”
7 Wrth i ddisgyblion Ioan fynd ymaith, dechreuodd Iesu sn am Ioan wrth y tyrfaoedd. "Beth yr aethoch allan i'r anialwch i edrych arno? Ai brwynen yn siglo yn y gwynt?
7As these went their way, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
8 Beth yr aethoch allan i'w weld? Ai un wedi ei wisgo mewn dillad esmwyth? Yn nhai brenhinoedd y mae'r rhai sy'n gwisgo dillad esmwyth.
8 But what did you go out to see? A man in soft clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in king’s houses.
9 Beth yr aethoch allan i'w weld? Ai proffwyd? Ie, meddaf wrthych, a mwy na phroffwyd.
9 But why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
10 Dyma'r un y mae'n ysgrifenedig amdano: 'Wele fi'n anfon fy nghennad o'th flaen, i baratoi'r ffordd ar dy gyfer.'
10 For this is he, of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’
11 Yn wir, 'rwy'n dweud wrthych, ni chododd ymhlith meibion gwragedd neb mwy na Ioan Fedyddiwr; ac eto y mae'r lleiaf yn nheyrnas nefoedd yn fwy nag ef.
11 Most certainly I tell you, among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptizer; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.
12 O ddyddiau Ioan Fedyddiwr hyd yn awr y mae teyrnas nefoedd yn cael ei threisio, a threiswyr sy'n ei chipio hi.
12 From the days of John the Baptizer until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
13 Hyd at Ioan y proffwydodd yr holl broffwydi a'r Gyfraith;
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
14 ac os mynnwch dderbyn hynny, ef yw Elias sydd ar ddod.
14 If you are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come.
15 Y sawl sydd chlustiau ganddo, gwrandawed.
15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
16 " phwy y cymharaf y genhedlaeth hon? Y mae'n debyg i blant yn eistedd yn y marchnadoedd ac yn galw ar ei gilydd:
16 “But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions
17 'Canasom ffliwt i chwi,ac ni ddawnsiasoch; canasom alarnad, ac nid wylasoch.'
17 and say, ‘We played the flute for you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned for you, and you didn’t lament.’
18 Oherwydd daeth Ioan, un nad yw'n bwyta nac yn yfed, ac y maent yn dweud, 'Y mae cythraul ynddo.'
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’
19 Daeth Mab y Dyn, un sy'n bwyta ac yn yfed, ac y maent yn dweud, 'Dyma feddwyn glwth, cyfaill i gasglwyr trethi a phechaduriaid.' Ac eto profir gan ei gweithredoedd fod doethineb Duw yn iawn."
19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.
20 Yna dechreuodd geryddu'r trefi lle y gwnaed y rhan fwyaf o'i wyrthiau, am nad oeddent wedi edifarhau.
20Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent.
21 "Gwae di, Chorasin! Gwae di, Bethsaida! Oherwydd petai'r gwyrthiau a wnaed ynoch chwi wedi eu gwneud yn Tyrus a Sidon, buasent wedi edifarhau erstalwm mewn sachliain a lludw.
21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 Ond 'rwy'n dweud wrthych, caiff Tyrus a Sidon lai i'w ddioddef yn Nydd y Farn na chwi.
22 But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
23 A thithau, Capernaum, 'A ddyrchefir di hyd nef? Byddi'n disgyn hyd Hades.' Oherwydd petai'r gwyrthiau a wnaed ynot ti wedi eu gwneud yn Sodom, buasai'n sefyll hyd heddiw.
23 You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will go down to Hades. For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until this day.
24 Ond 'rwy'n dweud wrthych y caiff tir Sodom lai i'w ddioddef yn Nydd y Farn na thi."
24 But I tell you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom, on the day of judgment, than for you.”
25 Yr amser hwnnw dywedodd Iesu, "Yr wyf yn dy foliannu di, O Dad, Arglwydd nef a daear, am iti guddio'r pethau hyn rhag y doethion a'r deallusion, a'u datguddio i rai bychain;
25At that time, Jesus answered, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants.
26 ie, O Dad, oherwydd felly y rhyngodd dy fodd di.
26 Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.
27 Traddodwyd i mi bob peth gan fy Nhad. Nid oes neb yn adnabod y Mab, ond y Tad, ac nid oes neb yn adnabod y Tad, ond y Mab a'r rhai hynny y mae'r Mab yn dewis ei ddatguddio iddynt.
27 All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.
28 Dewch ataf fi, bawb sy'n flinedig ac yn llwythog, ac fe roddaf fi orffwystra i chwi.
28 “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Cymerwch fy iau arnoch a dysgwch gennyf, oherwydd addfwyn ydwyf a gostyngedig o galon, ac fe gewch orffwystra i'ch eneidiau.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.
30 Y mae fy iau i yn hawdd ei dwyn, a'm baich i yn ysgafn."
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
