1 Dyma ddiarhebion Solomon: Y mae mab doeth yn gwneud ei dad yn llawen, ond mab ff�l yn dwyn gofid i'w fam.
1The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father; but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.
2 Nid oes elw o drysorau a gaed mewn drygioni, ond y mae cyfiawnder yn amddiffyn rhag marwolaeth.
2Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but righteousness delivers from death.
3 Nid yw'r ARGLWYDD yn gadael i'r cyfiawn newynu, ond y mae'n siomi chwant y rhai drwg.
3Yahweh will not allow the soul of the righteous to go hungry, but he thrusts away the desire of the wicked.
4 Y mae llaw segur yn dwyn tlodi, ond llaw ddiwyd yn peri cyfoeth.
4He becomes poor who works with a lazy hand, but the hand of the diligent brings wealth.
5 Y mae mab sy'n cywain yn yr haf yn ddeallus, ond un sy'n cysgu trwy'r cynhaeaf yn dod � chywilydd.
5He who gathers in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during the harvest is a son who causes shame.
6 Bendithion sy'n disgyn ar y cyfiawn, ond y mae genau'r drwg yn cuddio trais.
6Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
7 Y mae cofio'r cyfiawn yn dwyn bendith, ond y mae enw'r drwg yn diflannu.
7The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot.
8 Y mae'r doeth yn derbyn gorchymyn, ond y ff�l ei siarad yn cael ei ddifetha.
8The wise in heart accept commandments, but a chattering fool will fall.
9 Y mae'r un sy'n byw'n uniawn yn cerdded yn ddiogel, ond darostyngir yr un sy'n gwyrdroi ei ffyrdd.
9He who walks blamelessly walks surely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out.
10 Y mae wincio �'r llygad yn achosi helbul, ond cerydd agored yn peri heddwch.
10One winking with the eye causes sorrow, but a chattering fool will fall.
11 Ffynnon bywyd yw geiriau'r cyfiawn, ond y mae genau'r drwg yn cuddio trais.
11The mouth of the righteous is a spring of life, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
12 Y mae casineb yn achosi cynnen, ond y mae cariad yn cuddio pob trosedd.
12Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all wrongs.
13 Ar wefusau'r deallus ceir doethineb, ond rhoddir gwialen ar gefn y disynnwyr.
13Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has discernment, but a rod is for the back of him who is void of understanding.
14 Y mae'r doeth yn trysori deall, ond dwyn dinistr yn agos a wna siarad ff�l.
14Wise men lay up knowledge, but the mouth of the foolish is near ruin.
15 Golud y cyfoethog yw ei ddinas gadarn, ond dinistr y tlawd yw ei dlodi.
15The rich man’s wealth is his strong city. The destruction of the poor is their poverty.
16 Cyflog y cyfiawn yw bywyd, ond cynnyrch y drwg yw pechod.
16The labor of the righteous leads to life. The increase of the wicked leads to sin.
17 Y mae derbyn disgyblaeth yn arwain i fywyd, ond gwrthod cerydd yn arwain ar ddisberod.
17He is in the way of life who heeds correction, but he who forsakes reproof leads others astray.
18 Y mae gwefusau twyllodrus yn anwesu casineb, a ff�l yw'r un sy'n enllibio.
18He who hides hatred has lying lips. He who utters a slander is a fool.
19 Pan amlheir geiriau nid oes ball ar dramgwyddo, ond y mae'r deallus yn atal ei eiriau.
19In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience, but he who restrains his lips does wisely.
20 Y mae tafod y cyfiawn fel arian dethol, ond diwerth yw calon yr un drwg.
20The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver. The heart of the wicked is of little worth.
21 Y mae geiriau'r cyfiawn yn cynnal llawer, ond y mae ffyliaid yn marw o ddiffyg synnwyr.
21The lips of the righteous feed many, but the foolish die for lack of understanding.
22 Bendith yr ARGLWYDD sy'n rhoi cyfoeth, ac nid yw'n ychwanegu gofid gyda hi.
22Yahweh’s blessing brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.
23 Gwneud anlladrwydd sy'n ddifyrrwch i'r ff�l, ond doethineb yw hyfrydwch y deallus.
23It is a fool’s pleasure to do wickedness, but wisdom is a man of understanding’s pleasure.
24 Yr hyn a ofna a ddaw ar y drygionus, ond caiff y cyfiawn ei ddymuniad.
24What the wicked fear, will overtake them, but the desire of the righteous will be granted.
25 Ar �l y storm, ni bydd s�n am y drygionus, ond y mae sylfaen y cyfiawn yn dragwyddol.
25When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more; but the righteous stand firm forever.
26 Fel finegr i'r dannedd, neu fwg i'r llygaid, felly y mae'r diogyn i'w feistr.
26As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to those who send him.
27 Y mae ofn yr ARGLWYDD yn estyn dyddiau, ond mae blynyddoedd y rhai drygionus yn cael eu byrhau.
27The fear of Yahweh prolongs days, but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28 Y mae gobaith y cyfiawn yn troi'n llawenydd, ond derfydd gobaith y drygionus.
28The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hope of the wicked will perish.
29 Y mae ffordd yr ARGLWYDD yn noddfa i'r uniawn, ond yn ddinistr i'r rhai a wna ddrwg.
29The way of Yahweh is a stronghold to the upright, but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.
30 Ni symudir y cyfiawn byth, ond nid erys y drygionus ar y ddaear.
30The righteous will never be removed, but the wicked will not dwell in the land.
31 Y mae genau'r cyfiawn yn llefaru doethineb, ond torrir ymaith y tafod twyllodrus.
31The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut off.
32 Gu373?yr gwefusau'r cyfiawn beth sy'n gymeradwy, ond twyllodrus yw genau'r drygionus.
32The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked is perverse.
