¹ای جان من، خداوند را ستایش کن. ای خداوند، خدای من، تو بسیار عظیم و به عزت و جلال ملبس هستی.

¹Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.

²خویشتن را به نور پوشانیده و آسمان را مثل خیمه برافراشته ای.

²Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:

³خانۀ او بر فراز ابر ها بنا شده و ابر ها را عرادۀ خود ساخته و بر بالهای باد سوار می شود.

³Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:

⁴بادها را پیام رسان خود و شعله های آتش را خادمان خود می گرداند.

⁴Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:

⁵زمین را بر بنیاد آن استوار کرده که تا به ابد جنبش نخورد.

⁵Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

⁶اوقیانوسها زمین را همچون جامه ای پوشاند و آب، کوهها را در بر گرفت.

⁶Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

⁷از عتاب تو آبها به جریان آمدند و با صدای رعد تو به همه جا پراگنده شدند.

⁷At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.

⁸فراز کوهها را پوشاندند، در دره ها سرازیر گردیدند و به مکانی که مهیا ساختی جاری شدند.

⁸They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.

⁹برای آن ها حدودی را معین کردی تا از آن نگذرند و بار دیگر زمین را آب نپوشاند.

⁹Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

¹⁰چشمه ها را در وادی ها جاری ساخت تا در میان کوهها روان شوند،

¹⁰He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.

¹¹تمام حیوانات صحرا را سیراب می سازند و گوره خرها تشنگی خود را رفع می کنند.

¹¹They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.

¹²پرندگان بر شاخه های درختان نزدیک آب آشیانه می سازند و نغمه سرایی می کنند.

¹²By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.

¹³با بارانی که از آسمان می فرستد، کوهها را سیراب می کند و از ثمرات اعمال تو زمین سیر می گردد.

¹³He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.

¹⁴برای مواشی علف و برای انسانها نباتات را می رویاند تا غذای خود را از آن ها به دست آورند.

¹⁴He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

¹⁵همچنان ثمرۀ تاک که دل انسان را شادمان می کند و روغن که چهرۀ او را شاداب می سازد و وجود انسان را به نان قوی می گرداند.

¹⁵And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.

¹⁶درختان خداوند شاداب می گردند، یعنی سروهای آزاد لبنان که او غرس کرده است.

¹⁶The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;

¹⁷پرندگان در آن ها آشیانه می سازند و اما درخت صنوبر لانۀ لگ لگ ها می باشد.

¹⁷Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.

¹⁸کوههای بلند پناهگاه بزهای کوهی و صخره ها لانۀ موشهای صحرائی هستند.

¹⁸The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.

¹⁹ماه را برای تعیین وقت ها ساخت و آفتاب زمان غروب خود را می داند.

¹⁹He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

²⁰شب را بوجود می آوری، تا در تاریکی آن، حیوانات وحشی جنگل بخرامند.

²⁰Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.

²¹شیر بچگان برای شکار خود غُرش می کنند و خوراک خویش را از خدا می خواهند.

²¹The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.

²²در وقت طلوع آفتاب دوباره به بیشۀ خود می آیند و استراحت می کنند.

²²The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.

²³آنگاه انسان برای کسب و کار خود بیرون می رود و تا شامگاه به وظیفۀ خود مشغول می باشد.

²³Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.

²⁴ای خداوند اعمال تو چه بسیار است. همۀ آن ها را از روی حکمت انجام داده ای. زمین از مخلوقات تو پُر است.

²⁴O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

²⁵در آن بحر وسیع و بزرگی که آفریده ای، جانورانِ بی شمار و حیوانات بزرگ و کوچک زندگی می کنند.

²⁵So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.

²⁶کشتی ها بر سطح آن روانند و لِویاتان، یعنی جانور بحری را که آفریده ای، در آن بازی می کند.

²⁶There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.

²⁷تمام مخلوقات تو منتظر اند تا تو روزی آن ها را بدهی.

²⁷These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.

²⁸آنچه را که به آن ها می دهی، آن ها جمع می کنند. دست خود را باز می کنی، پس از چیزهای نیکو سیر می شوند.

²⁸That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.

²⁹وقتی از آن ها رو بر می گردانی، به وحشت می افتند و هنگامیکه جان شان را می گیری، می میرند و به خاک بر می گردند.

²⁹Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

³⁰چون روح خود را می فرستی، مخلوقات آفریده می شوند و روی زمین تازه می گردد.

³⁰Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

³¹جلال خداوند تا به ابد است. خداوند از اعمال خلقت خود خوشنود باشد.

³¹The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.

³²وقتی بر زمین نگاه می کند، زمین بلرزه می آید و چون کوهها را لمس می کند، آتشفشان می شوند.

³²He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.

³³تا زنده ام خداوند را با سرود پرستش خواهم کرد و تا زمانی که وجود دارم خدای خود را ستایش خواهم نمود.

³³I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

³⁴باشد که تفکر دلم مورد پسند او واقع گردد و من در خداوند شادمانی خواهم کرد.گناهکاران از روی زمین محو گردند و شریران دیگر یافت نشوند. ای جان من خداوند را ستایش کن! هَلّلِویاه، سپاس به خداوند.

³⁴My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.

³⁵گناهکاران از روی زمین محو گردند و شریران دیگر یافت نشوند. ای جان من خداوند را ستایش کن! هَلّلِویاه، سپاس به خداوند.

³⁵Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.
