¹هَلّلِویاه، سپاس به خداوند! خداوند را سپاس گوئید زیرا که او نیکوست و رحمتش تا به ابد.

¹Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

²کیست که بتواند کارهای بزرگ خداوند را بیان کند و ستایش او را آنطوری که شایسته است بشنواند؟

²Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise?

³خوشا به حال آنانی که انصاف را نگاه دارند و آنکه عدالت را در همۀ وقت به عمل آورد.

³Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

⁴ای خداوند به رضامندی ای که با قوم برگزیدۀ خود می داری، مرا یاد کن و به نجات خود از من تفقد نما.

⁴Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;

⁵تا سعادت برگزیدگان تو را ببینم، در خوشی قوم برگزیدۀ تو حصه بگیرم و با میراث تو فخر نمایم.

⁵That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.

⁶ما و پدران ما گناه نموده ایم و خطا کرده، شرارت ورزیده ایم.

⁶We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.

⁷پدران ما معجزات تو را در مصر درک نکردند و رحمت های زیاد تو را به یاد نیاوردند، بلکه در جوار آب یعنی ساحل بحیرۀ احمر فتنه انگیختند.

⁷Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.

⁸با آنهم به خاطر نام خود و برای اینکه قدرت عظیم خود را ظاهر سازد، آن ها را نجات داد.

⁸Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

⁹به فرمان او بحیرۀ احمر خشک گردید و قوم برگزیدۀ خود را از اعماق بحر، گویی از بین صحرا عبور داد.

⁹He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.

¹⁰آن ها را از دست دشمنان نجات داد و از دست بدخواهان رهایی بخشید.

¹⁰And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

¹¹آب دشمنان ایشان را طوری پوشانید که حتی یکی از آن ها هم باقی نماند.

¹¹And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.

¹²آنگاه به کلام او ایمان آوردند و سرود حمد او را سرائیدند.

¹²Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.

¹³اما اعمال او را به زودی فراموش کردند و مشورت او را انتظار نکشیدند.

¹³They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

¹⁴بلکه در آن بیابان به شهوت پرستی پرداختند و در دشت خدا را آزمایش کردند.

¹⁴But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.

¹⁵پس خواست دل شان را بجا آورد، لیکن جان شان را به مرض مهلکی مبتلا ساخت.

¹⁵And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.

¹⁶در بیابان به موسی و به هارون، تقدیس شدۀ خداوند، حسد بردند.

¹⁶They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.

¹⁷آنگاه زمین چاک شد و داتان را در خود فرو برد و همچنین ابیرام و خانوادۀ او را پوشانید.

¹⁷The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan and covered the company of Abiram.

¹⁸بعد آتشی در بین شان افروخته شد و شعلۀ آتش شریران را سوزانید.

¹⁸And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.

¹⁹در حوریب گوساله ای ساختند و آن بت ریخته شده را پرستش کردند.

¹⁹They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.

²⁰تمثال یک گاو علف خور را بر خدای پُر جلال خویش ترجیح دادند.

²⁰Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.

²¹خدای نجات دهندۀ خود را که کارهای عظیمی را در مصر کرده بود، از یاد بردند.

²¹They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;

²²معجزات او را در سرزمین حام و کارهای هولناک او را در بحیرۀ احمر، همه را فراموش کردند.

²²Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.

²³آنگاه خواست ایشان را هلاک کند، اما برگزیدۀ او موسی به شفاعت آن ها برخاست و غضب خدا را فرو نشاند که آن ها هلاک نسازد.

²³Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

²⁴آن ها سرزمین مرغوب را خوار شمردند و به کلام وی اعتماد نکردند.

²⁴Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:

²⁵در خیمه های خود لب به شکایت گشودند و به آواز خداوند گوش ندادند.

²⁵But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.

²⁶پس دست خود را بر ضد آن ها برافراشت که ایشان را در آن بیابان از بین ببرد

²⁶Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:

²⁷و اولادۀ شان را در میان امت ها بیندازد و ایشان را در کشورهای بیگانه پراگنده سازد.

²⁷To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.

²⁸سپس به بتِ بعل فغور پیوستند و قربانی های تقدیم شده به بتها را خوردند.

²⁸They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

²⁹با این اعمال خود خداوند را به خشم آوردند و به مرض کشنده ای گرفتار گردیدند.

²⁹Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.

³⁰آنگاه فینِحاس برخاست و داوری نمود و مرض کشنده از بین برداشته شد.

³⁰Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.

³¹این برای او به عدالت محسوب گردید، نسلاً بعد نسل تا ابدالآباد.

³¹And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.

³²خداوند را نزد آب های مریبه غضبناک ساختند. موسی هم به خاطر آن ها آزار دید

³²They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:

³³و چنان روح او را تلخ ساختند که لب به ناسزا گفتن گشود.

³³Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

³⁴ایشان آن قوم های را که خداوند امر فرموده بود از بین نبردند،

³⁴They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:

³⁵بلکه با آن ها رابطۀ دوستی برقرار کردند و اعمال بت پرستان را آموختند.

³⁵But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.

³⁶بتهای شانرا پرستیدند و با این کار برای خود دام گذاشتند.

³⁶And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.

³⁷پسران و دختران خود را برای ارواح پلید قربانی نمودند.

³⁷Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,

³⁸خون بیگناهان یعنی خون پسران و دختران خود را ریختند و آنرا برای بتهای کنعان قربانی کردند. آن سرزمین از خون آلوده گردید.

³⁸And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

³⁹آن ها به خاطر اعمال خود نجس شدند و بت پرستی آن ها در نظر خداوند حکم زنا را داشت.

³⁹Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.

⁴⁰آنگاه خشم خداوند بر قوم برگزیده اش افروخته شد و او از آن ها بیزار گردید.

⁴⁰Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.

⁴¹پس ایشان را به دست امت ها تسلیم نمود تا آنانی که از ایشان نفرت داشتند، بر آن ها حکمرانی کنند.

⁴¹And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.

⁴²دشمنان شان بر آن ها ظلم کردند و آن ها را زیر دست خود خوار و ذلیل ساختند.

⁴²Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

⁴³خداوند بارها قوم برگزیدۀ خود را نجات داد، اما آن ها هر بار در برابر او فتنه برانگیختند و به خاطر گناه خویش خوار و ذلیل گردیدند.

⁴³Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.

⁴⁴با وجود این، وقتی که فریاد ایشان را شنید، به درماندگی آن ها توجه کرد.

⁴⁴Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:

⁴⁵به خاطر ایشان، پیمان خود را بیاد آورد و به سبب رحمت بی پایان خود، آن ها را مجازات نکرد

⁴⁵And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

⁴⁶و دل اسیرکنندگان ایشان را به رحم آورد.

⁴⁶He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.

⁴⁷ای خداوند، خدای ما، ما را نجات ده! ما را از میان ممالک بیگانه جمع کن، تا نام مقدس تو را حمد گوئیم و ستایش تو افتخار ما باشد.خداوند، خدای اسرائیل از ازل تا به ابد متبارک باد! و تمام قوم بگویند: «آمین!» هَلّلِویاه، سپاس به خداوند!

⁴⁷Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.

⁴⁸خداوند، خدای اسرائیل از ازل تا به ابد متبارک باد! و تمام قوم بگویند: «آمین!» هَلّلِویاه، سپاس به خداوند!

⁴⁸Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.
