1In [the] beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
1 Yn y dechreuad yr oedd y Gair; yr oedd y Gair gyda Duw, a Duw oedd y Gair.
2*He* was in the beginning with God.
2 Yr oedd ef yn y dechreuad gyda Duw.
3All things received being through him, and without him not one [thing] received being which has received being.
3 Daeth pob peth i fod trwyddo ef; hebddo ef ni ddaeth un dim sydd mewn bod.
4In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
4 Ynddo ef yr oedd bywyd, a'r bywyd, goleuni dynion ydoedd.
5And the light appears in darkness, and the darkness apprehended it not.
5 Y mae'r goleuni yn llewyrchu yn y tywyllwch, ac nid yw'r tywyllwch wedi ei drechu ef.
6There was a man sent from God, his name John.
6 Daeth dyn wedi ei anfon oddi wrth Dduw, a'i enw Ioan.
7He came for witness, that he might witness concerning the light, that all might believe through him.
7 Daeth hwn yn dyst, i dystiolaethu am y goleuni, er mwyn i bawb ddod i gredu trwyddo.
8*He* was not the light, but that he might witness concerning the light.
8 Nid ef oedd y goleuni, ond daeth i dystiolaethu am y goleuni.
9The true light was that which, coming into the world, lightens every man.
9 Yr oedd y gwir oleuni, sy'n goleuo pawb, eisoes yn dod i'r byd.
10He was in the world, and the world had [its] being through him, and the world knew him not.
10 Yr oedd yn y byd, a daeth y byd i fod trwyddo, ac nid adnabu'r byd mohono.
11He came to his own, and his own received him not;
11 Daeth i'w gynefin ei hun, ac ni dderbyniodd ei bobl ei hun mohono.
12but as many as received him, to them gave he [the] right to be children of God, to those that believe on his name;
12 Ond cynifer ag a'i derbyniodd, rhoes iddynt hwy, y rhai sy'n credu yn ei enw, hawl i ddod yn blant Duw,
13who have been born, not of blood, nor of flesh's will, nor of man's will, but of God.
13 plant wedi eu geni nid o waed nac o ewyllys cnawd nac o ewyllys gu373?r, ond o Dduw.
14And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we have contemplated his glory, a glory as of an only-begotten with a father), full of grace and truth;
14 A daeth y Gair yn gnawd a phreswylio yn ein plith, yn llawn gras a gwirionedd; gwelsom ei ogoniant ef, ei ogoniant fel unig Fab yn dod oddi wrth y Tad.
15(John bears witness of him, and he has cried, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that comes after me is preferred before me, for he was before me;)
15 Y mae Ioan yn tystio amdano ac yn cyhoeddi: "Hwn oedd yr un y dywedais amdano, 'Y mae'r hwn sy'n dod ar f'l i wedi fy mlaenori i, oherwydd yr oedd yn bod o'm blaen i.'"
16for of his fulness we all have received, and grace upon grace.
16 O'i gyflawnder ef yr ydym ni oll wedi derbyn gras ar ben gras.
17For the law was given by Moses: grace and truth subsists through Jesus Christ.
17 Oherwydd trwy Moses y rhoddwyd y Gyfraith, ond gras a gwirionedd, trwy Iesu Grist y daethant.
18No one has seen God at any time; the only-begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, *he* hath declared [him].
18 Nid oes neb wedi gweld Duw erioed; yr unig Un, ac yntau'n Dduw, yr hwn sydd ym mynwes y Tad, hwnnw a'i gwnaeth yn hysbys.
19And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent from Jerusalem priests and Levites that they might ask him, Thou, who art thou?
19 Dyma dystiolaeth Ioan, pan anfonodd yr Iddewon o Jerwsalem offeiriaid a Lefiaid ato i ofyn iddo, "Pwy wyt ti?"
20And he acknowledged and denied not, and acknowledged, I am not the Christ.
20 Addefodd ac ni wadodd, a dyma a addefodd: "Nid myfi yw'r Meseia."
21And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he says, I am not. Art thou the prophet? And he answered, No.
21 Yna gofynasant iddo: "Beth, ynteu? Ai ti yw Elias?" "Nage," meddai. "Ai ti yw'r Proffwyd?" "Nage," atebodd eto.
22They said therefore to him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to those who sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
22 Ar hynny dywedasant wrtho, "Pwy wyt ti? Rhaid i ni roi ateb i'r rhai a'n hanfonodd ni. Beth sydd gennyt i'w ddweud amdanat dy hun?"
23He said, I [am] [the] voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the path of [the] Lord, as said Esaias the prophet.
23 "Myfi," meddai, "yw 'Llais un yn galw yn yr anialwch: "Unionwch ffordd yr Arglwydd"' fel y dywedodd y proffwyd Eseia."
24And they were sent from among the Pharisees.
24 Yr oeddent wedi eu hanfon gan y Phariseaid,
25And they asked him and said to him, Why baptisest thou then, if thou art not the Christ, nor Elias, nor the prophet?
25 a holasant ef a gofyn iddo, "Pam, ynteu, yr wyt yn bedyddio, os nad wyt ti na'r Meseia nac Elias na'r Proffwyd?"
26John answered them saying, I baptise with water. In the midst of you stands, whom ye do not know,
26 Atebodd Ioan hwy: "Yr wyf fi'n bedyddio du373?r, ond y mae yn sefyll yn eich plith un nad ydych chwi'n ei adnabod,
27he who comes after me, the thong of whose sandal I am not worthy to unloose.
27 yr un sy'n dod ar f'l i, nad wyf fi'n deilwng i ddatod carrai ei sandal."
28These things took place in Bethany, across the Jordan, where John was baptising.
28 Digwyddodd hyn ym Methania, y tu hwnt i'r Iorddonen, lle'r oedd Ioan yn bedyddio.
29On the morrow he sees Jesus coming to him, and says, Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.
29 Trannoeth gwelodd Iesu'n dod tuag ato, a dywedodd, "Dyma Oen Duw, sy'n cymryd ymaith bechod y byd!
30He it is of whom I said, A man comes after me who takes a place before me, because he *was* before me;
30 Hwn yw'r un y dywedais i amdano, 'Ar f'l i y mae gu373?r yn dod sydd wedi fy mlaenori i, oherwydd yr oedd yn bod o'm blaen i.'
31and I knew him not; but that he might be manifested to Israel, therefore have I come baptising with water.
31 Nid oeddwn innau'n ei adnabod, ond deuthum i yn bedyddio du373?r er mwyn hyn, iddo ef gael ei amlygu i Israel."
32And John bore witness, saying, I beheld the Spirit descending as a dove from heaven, and it abode upon him.
32 A thystiodd Ioan fel hyn: "Gwelais yr Ysbryd yn disgyn o'r nef fel colomen, ac fe arhosodd arno ef.
33And I knew him not; but he who sent me to baptise with water, *he* said to me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and abiding on him, he it is who baptises with [the] Holy Spirit.
33 Nid oeddwn innau'n ei adnabod, ond yr un a'm hanfonodd i fedyddio du373?r, dywedodd ef wrthyf, 'Pwy bynnag y gweli di'r Ysbryd yn disgyn ac yn aros arno, hwn yw'r un sy'n bedyddio 'r Ysbryd Gln.'
34And I have seen and borne witness that this is the Son of God.
34 Yr wyf finnau wedi gweld ac wedi dwyn tystiolaeth mai Mab Duw yw hwn."
35Again, on the morrow, there stood John and two of his disciples.
35 Trannoeth yr oedd Ioan yn sefyll eto gyda dau o'i ddisgyblion,
36And, looking at Jesus as he walked, he says, Behold the Lamb of God.
36 ac wrth wylio Iesu'n cerdded heibio meddai, "Dyma Oen Duw!"
37And the two disciples heard him speaking, and followed Jesus.
37 Clywodd ei ddau ddisgybl ef yn dweud hyn, ac aethant i ganlyn Iesu.
38But Jesus having turned, and seeing them following, says to them, What seek ye? And *they* said to him, Rabbi (which, being interpreted, signifies Teacher), where abidest thou?
38 Troes Iesu, ac wrth eu gweld yn canlyn, dywedodd wrthynt, "Beth yr ydych yn ei geisio?" Dywedasant wrtho, "Rabbi," (ystyr hyn, o'i gyfieithu, yw Athro) "ble'r wyt ti'n aros?"
39He says to them, Come and see. They went therefore, and saw where he abode; and they abode with him that day. It was about the tenth hour.
39 Dywedodd wrthynt, "Dewch i weld." Felly aethant a gweld lle'r oedd yn aros; a'r diwrnod hwnnw arosasant gydag ef. Yr oedd hi tua phedwar o'r gloch y prynhawn.
40Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard [this] from John and followed him.
40 Andreas, brawd Simon Pedr, oedd un o'r ddau a aeth i ganlyn Iesu ar l gwrando ar Ioan.
41He first finds his own brother Simon, and says to him, We have found the Messias (which being interpreted is Christ).
41 Y peth cyntaf a wnaeth hwn oedd cael hyd i'w frawd, Simon, a dweud wrtho, "Yr ydym wedi darganfod y Meseia" (hynny yw, o'i gyfieithu, Crist).
42And he led him to Jesus. Jesus looking at him said, Thou art Simon, the son of Jonas; thou shalt be called Cephas (which interpreted is stone).
42 Daeth ag ef at Iesu. Edrychodd Iesu arno a dywedodd, "Ti yw Simon fab Ioan; dy enw fydd Ceffas" (enw a gyfieithir Pedr).
43On the morrow he would go forth into Galilee, and Jesus finds Philip, and says to him, Follow me.
43 Trannoeth, penderfynodd Iesu ymadael a mynd i Galilea. Cafodd hyd i Philip, ac meddai wrtho, "Canlyn fi."
44And Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter.
44 Gu373?r o Bethsaida, tref Andreas a Pedr, oedd Philip.
45Philip finds Nathanael, and says to him, We have found him of whom Moses wrote in the law, and the prophets, Jesus, the son of Joseph, who is from Nazareth.
45 Cafodd Philip hyd i Nathanael a dweud wrtho, "Yr ydym wedi darganfod y gu373?r yr ysgrifennodd Moses yn y Gyfraith amdano, a'r proffwydi hefyd, Iesu fab Joseff o Nasareth."
46And Nathanael said to him, Can anything good come out of Nazareth? Philip says to him, Come and see.
46 Dywedodd Nathanael wrtho, "A all dim da ddod o Nasareth?" "Tyrd i weld," ebe Philip wrtho.
47Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and says of him, Behold [one] truly an Israelite, in whom there is no guile.
47 Gwelodd Iesu Nathanael yn dod tuag ato, ac meddai amdano, "Dyma Israeliad gwerth yr enw, heb ddim twyll ynddo."
48Nathanael says to him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said to him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig-tree, I saw thee.
48 Gofynnodd Nathanael iddo, "Sut yr wyt yn f'adnabod i?" Atebodd Iesu ef: "Gwelais di cyn i Philip alw arnat, pan oeddit dan y ffigysbren."
49Nathanael answered and said to him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God, thou art the King of Israel.
49 "Rabbi," meddai Nathanael wrtho, "ti yw Mab Duw, ti yw Brenin Israel."
50Jesus answered and said to him, Because I said to thee, I saw thee under the fig-tree, believest thou? Thou shalt see greater things than these.
50 Atebodd Iesu ef: "A wyt yn credu oherwydd i mi ddweud wrthyt fy mod wedi dy weld dan y ffigysbren? Cei weld pethau mwy na hyn."
51And he says to him, Verily, verily, I say to you, Henceforth ye shall see the heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of man.
51 Ac meddai wrtho, "Yn wir, yn wir, rwy'n dweud wrthych, cewch weld y nef wedi agor, ac angylion Duw yn esgyn ac yn disgyn ar Fab y Dyn."
