1But it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census should be made of all the habitable world.
1 Yn y dyddiau hynny aeth gorchymyn allan oddi wrth Cesar Awgwstus i gofrestru'r holl Ymerodraeth.
2The census itself first took place when Cyrenius had the government of Syria.
2 Digwyddodd y cofrestru cyntaf hwn pan oedd Cyrenius yn llywodraethu ar Syria.
3And all went to be inscribed in the census roll, each to his own city:
3 Aeth pawb felly i'w gofrestru, pob un i'w dref ei hun.
4and Joseph also went up from Galilee out of the city Nazareth to Judaea, to David's city, the which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,
4 Oherwydd ei fod yn perthyn i du375? a theulu Dafydd, aeth Joseff i fyny o dref Nasareth yng Ngalilea i Jwdea, i dref Dafydd a elwir Bethlehem,
5to be inscribed in the census roll with Mary who was betrothed to him [as his] wife, she being great with child.
5 i ymgofrestru ynghyd Mair ei ddyweddi; ac yr oedd hi'n feichiog.
6And it came to pass, while they were there, the days of her giving birth [to her child] were fulfilled,
6 Pan oeddent yno, cyflawnwyd yr amser iddi esgor,
7and she brought forth her first-born son, and wrapped him up in swaddling-clothes and laid him in the manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
7 ac esgorodd ar ei mab cyntafanedig; a rhwymodd ef mewn dillad baban a'i osod mewn preseb, am nad oedd lle iddynt yn y gwesty.
8And there were shepherds in that country abiding without, and keeping watch by night over their flock.
8 Yn yr un ardal yr oedd bugeiliaid allan yn y wlad yn gwarchod eu praidd liw nos.
9And lo, an angel of [the] Lord was there by them, and [the] glory of [the] Lord shone around them, and they feared [with] great fear.
9 A safodd angel yr Arglwydd yn eu hymyl a disgleiriodd gogoniant yr Arglwydd o'u hamgylch; a daeth arswyd arnynt.
10And the angel said to them, Fear not, for behold, I announce to you glad tidings of great joy, which shall be to all the people;
10 Yna dywedodd yr angel wrthynt, "Peidiwch ag ofni, oherwydd wele, yr wyf yn cyhoeddi i chwi y newydd da am lawenydd mawr a ddaw i'r holl bobl:
11for to-day a Saviour has been born to you in David's city, who is Christ [the] Lord.
11 ganwyd i chwi heddiw yn nhref Dafydd, Waredwr, yr hwn yw'r Meseia, yr Arglwydd;
12And this is the sign to you: ye shall find a babe wrapped in swaddling-clothes, and lying in a manger.
12 a dyma'r arwydd i chwi: cewch hyd i'r un bach wedi ei rwymo mewn dillad baban ac yn gorwedd mewn preseb."
13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying,
13 Yn sydyn ymddangosodd gyda'r angel dyrfa o'r llu nefol, yn moli Duw gan ddweud:
14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good pleasure in men.
14 "Gogoniant yn y goruchaf i Dduw, ac ar y ddaear tangnefedd ymhlith y rhai sydd wrth ei fodd."
15And it came to pass, as the angels departed from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, Let us make our way then now as far as Bethlehem, and let us see this thing that is come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.
15 Wedi i'r angylion fynd ymaith oddi wrthynt i'r nef, dechreuodd y bugeiliaid ddweud wrth ei gilydd, "Gadewch inni fynd i Fethlehem a gweld yr hyn sydd wedi digwydd, y peth yr hysbysodd yr Arglwydd ni amdano."
16And they came with haste, and found both Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in the manger;
16 Aethant ar frys, a chawsant hyd i Fair a Joseff, a'r baban yn gorwedd yn y preseb;
17and having seen [it] they made known about the country the thing which had been said to them concerning this child.
17 ac wedi ei weld mynegasant yr hyn oedd wedi ei lefaru wrthynt am y plentyn hwn.
18And all who heard [it] wondered at the things said to them by the shepherds.
18 Rhyfeddodd pawb a'u clywodd at y pethau a ddywedodd y bugeiliaid wrthynt;
19But Mary kept all these things [in her mind], pondering [them] in her heart.
19 ond yr oedd Mair yn cadw'r holl bethau hyn yn ddiogel yn ei chalon ac yn myfyrio arnynt.
20And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all things which they had heard and seen, as it had been said to them.
20 Dychwelodd y bugeiliaid gan ogoneddu a moli Duw am yr holl bethau a glywsant ac a welsant, yn union fel y llefarwyd wrthynt.
21And when eight days were fulfilled for circumcising him, his name was called Jesus, which was the name given by the angel before he had been conceived in the womb.
21 Pan ddaeth yr amser i enwaedu arno ymhen wyth diwrnod, galwyd ef Iesu, yr enw a roddwyd iddo gan yr angel cyn i'w fam feichiogi arno.
22And when the days were fulfilled for their purifying according to the law of Moses, they brought him to Jerusalem to present [him] to the Lord
22 Pan ddaeth amser eu puredigaeth yn l Cyfraith Moses, cymerodd ei rieni ef i fyny i Jerwsalem i'w gyflwyno i'r Arglwydd,
23(as it is written in the law of [the] Lord: Every male that opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord),
23 yn unol 'r hyn sydd wedi ei ysgrifennu yng Nghyfraith yr Arglwydd: "Pob gwryw cyntafanedig, fe'i gelwir yn sanctaidd i'r Arglwydd";
24and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of [the] Lord: A pair of turtle doves, or two young pigeons.
24 ac i roi offrwm yn unol 'r hyn sydd wedi ei ddweud yng Nghyfraith yr Arglwydd: "Pr o durturod neu ddau gyw colomen."
25And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was just and pious, awaiting the consolation of Israel, and [the] Holy Spirit was upon him.
25 Yn awr yr oedd dyn yn Jerwsalem o'r enw Simeon; dyn cyfiawn a duwiol oedd hwn, yn disgwyl am ddiddanwch Israel; ac yr oedd yr Ysbryd Gln arno.
26And it was divinely communicated to him by the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death before he should see [the] Lord's Christ.
26 Yr oedd wedi cael datguddiad gan yr Ysbryd Gln na welai farwolaeth cyn gweld Meseia'r Arglwydd.
27And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and as the parents brought in the child Jesus that they might do for him according to the custom of the law,
27 Daeth i'r deml dan arweiniad yr Ysbryd; a phan ddaeth y rhieni 'r plentyn Iesu i mewn, i wneud ynglu375?n ag ef yn unol ag arfer y Gyfraith,
28*he* received him into his arms, and blessed God, and said,
28 cymerodd Simeon ef i'w freichiau a bendithiodd Dduw gan ddweud:
29Lord, now thou lettest thy bondman go, according to thy word, in peace;
29 "Yn awr yr wyt yn gollwng dy was yn rhydd, O Arglwydd, mewn tangnefedd yn unol 'th air;
30for mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
30 oherwydd y mae fy llygaid wedi gweld dy iachawdwriaeth,
31which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples;
31 a ddarperaist yng ngu373?ydd yr holl bobloedd:
32a light for revelation of [the] Gentiles and [the] glory of thy people Israel.
32 goleuni i fod yn ddatguddiad i'r Cenhedloedd ac yn ogoniant i'th bobl Israel."
33And his father and mother wondered at the things which were said concerning him.
33 Yr oedd ei dad a'i fam yn rhyfeddu at y pethau oedd yn cael eu dweud amdano.
34And Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary his mother, Lo, this [child] is set for the fall and rising up of many in Israel, and for a sign spoken against;
34 Yna bendithiodd Simeon hwy, a dywedodd wrth Fair ei fam, "Wele, gosodwyd hwn er cwymp a chyfodiad llawer yn Israel, ac i fod yn arwydd a wrthwynebir;
35(and even a sword shall go through thine own soul;) so that [the] thoughts may be revealed from many hearts.
35 a thithau, trywenir dy enaid di gan gleddyf; felly y datguddir meddyliau calonnau lawer."
36And there was a prophetess, Anna, daughter of Phanuel, of [the] tribe of Asher, who was far advanced in years, having lived with [her] husband seven years from her virginity,
36 Yr oedd proffwydes hefyd, Anna merch Phanuel o lwyth Aser. Yr oedd hon yn oedrannus iawn, wedi byw saith mlynedd gyda'i gu373?r ar l priodi,
37and herself a widow up to eighty-four years; who did not depart from the temple, serving night and day with fastings and prayers;
37 ac wedi parhau'n weddw nes ei bod yn awr yn bedair a phedwar ugain oed. Ni byddai byth yn ymadael 'r deml, ond yn addoli gan ymprydio a gweddo ddydd a nos.
38and she coming up the same hour gave praise to the Lord, and spoke of him to all those who waited for redemption in Jerusalem.
38 A'r awr honno safodd hi gerllaw a moli Duw, a llefaru am y plentyn wrth bawb oedd yn disgwyl rhyddhad Jerwsalem.
39And when they had completed all things according to the law of [the] Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own city Nazareth.
39 Wedi iddynt gyflawni popeth yn unol Chyfraith yr Arglwydd, dychwelsant i Galilea, i Nasareth eu tref eu hunain.
40And the child grew and waxed strong [in spirit], filled with wisdom, and God's grace was upon him.
40 Yr oedd y plentyn yn tyfu yn gryf ac yn llawn doethineb; ac yr oedd ffafr Duw arno.
41And his parents went yearly to Jerusalem at the feast of the passover.
41 Byddai ei rieni yn teithio i Jerwsalem bob blwyddyn ar gyfer gu373?yl y Pasg.
42And when he was twelve years old, and they went up [to Jerusalem] according to the custom of the feast
42 Pan oedd ef yn ddeuddeng mlwydd oed, aethant i fyny yn unol 'r arfer ar yr u373?yl,
43and had completed the days, as they returned, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, and his parents knew not [of it];
43 a chadw ei dyddiau yn gyflawn. Ond pan oeddent yn dychwelyd, arhosodd y bachgen Iesu yn Jerwsalem yn ddiarwybod i'w rieni.
44but, supposing him to be in the company that journeyed together, they went a day's journey, and sought him among their relations and acquaintances:
44 Gan dybio ei fod gyda'u cyd-deithwyr, gwnaethant daith diwrnod cyn dechrau chwilio amdano ymhlith eu perthnasau a'u cydnabod.
45and not having found him they returned to Jerusalem seeking him.
45 Wedi methu cael hyd iddo, dychwelsant i Jerwsalem gan chwilio amdano.
46And it came to pass, after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers and hearing them and asking them questions.
46 Ymhen tridiau daethant o hyd iddo yn y deml, yn eistedd yng nghanol yr athrawon, yn gwrando arnynt ac yn eu holi;
47And all who heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
47 ac yr oedd pawb a'i clywodd yn rhyfeddu mor ddeallus oedd ei atebion.
48And when they saw him they were amazed: and his mother said to him, Child, why hast thou dealt thus with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee distressed.
48 Pan welodd ei rieni ef, fe'u syfrdanwyd, ac meddai ei fam wrtho, "Fy mhlentyn, pam y gwnaethost hyn inni? Dyma dy dad a minnau yn llawn pryder wedi bod yn chwilio amdanat."
49And he said to them, Why [is it] that ye have sought me? did ye not know that I ought to be [occupied] in my Father's business?
49 Meddai ef wrthynt, "Pam y buoch yn chwilio amdanaf? Onid oeddech yn gwybod mai yn nhu375? fy Nhad y mae'n rhaid i mi fod?"
50And they understood not the thing that he said to them.
50 Ond ni ddeallasant hwy y peth a ddywedodd wrthynt.
51And he went down with them and came to Nazareth, and he was in subjection to them. And his mother kept all these things in her heart.
51 Yna aeth ef i lawr gyda hwy yn l i Nasareth, a bu'n ufudd iddynt. Cadwodd ei fam y cyfan yn ddiogel yn ei chalon.
52And Jesus advanced in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men.
52 Ac yr oedd Iesu yn cynyddu mewn doethineb, a maintioli, a ffafr gyda Duw a'r holl bobl.
