1My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
1 Fy mab, cadw fy ngeiriau, a thrysora fy ngorchmynion.
2Keep my commandments, and live; and my teaching, as the apple of thine eye.
2 Cadw fy ngorchmynion, iti gael byw, a boed fy nghyfarwyddyd fel cannwyll dy lygad.
3Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the tablet of thy heart.
3 Rhwym hwy am dy fysedd, ysgrifenna hwy ar lech dy galon.
4Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister, and call intelligence [thy] kinswoman:
4 Dywed wrth ddoethineb, "Fy chwaer wyt ti", a chyfarch ddeall fel c�r,
5that they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger who flattereth with her words.
5 i'th gadw dy hun rhag y wraig ddieithr, a rhag yr estrones a'i geiriau gwenieithus.
6For at the window of my house, I looked forth through my lattice,
6 Yr oeddwn yn ffenestr fy nhu375?, yn edrych allan trwy'r dellt
7and I beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the sons, a young man void of understanding,
7 ac yn gwylio'r rhai ifainc gwirion; a gwelais yn eu plith un disynnwyr
8passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
8 yn mynd heibio i gornel y stryd, ac yn troi i gyfeiriad ei thu375?
9in the twilight, in the evening of the day, in the blackness of night and the darkness.
9 yn y cyfnos, yn hwyr y dydd, pan oedd yn dechrau nosi a thywyllu.
10And behold, there met him a woman in the attire of a harlot, and subtle of heart.
10 Daeth dynes i'w gyfarfod, wedi ei gwisgo fel putain, ac yn llawn ystryw �
11She is clamorous and unmanageable; her feet abide not in her house:
11 un benchwiban a gwamal, nad yw byth yn aros gartref,
12now without, now in the broadways, -- and she lieth in wait at every corner.
12 weithiau ar y stryd, weithiau yn y sgw�r, yn llercian ym mhob cornel �
13And she caught him and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,
13 y mae'n cydio ynddo ac yn ei gusanu, ac yn ddigon wynebgaled i ddweud wrtho,
14I have peace-offerings with me; this day have I paid my vows:
14 "Roedd yn rhaid imi offrymu heddoffrymau, ac rwyf newydd gyflawni f'addewid;
15therefore came I forth to meet thee, to seek earnestly thy face, and I have found thee.
15 am hynny y deuthum allan i'th gyfarfod ac i chwilio amdanat, a dyma fi wedi dy gael.
16I have decked my bed with tapestry coverlets of variegated linen from Egypt;
16 Taenais ar fy ngwely gwrlid o frethyn lliwgar yr Aifft;
17I have perfumed my couch with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
17 ac rwyf wedi persawru fy ngwely � myrr, aloes a sinamon.
18Come, let us revel in love until the morning, let us delight ourselves with loves.
18 Tyrd, gad inni ymgolli mewn cariad tan y bore, a chael mwynhad wrth garu.
19For the husband is not at home, he is gone a long journey;
19 Oherwydd nid yw'r gu373?r gartref; fe aeth ar daith bell.
20he hath taken the money-bag with him, he will come home on the day of the full moon.
20 Cymerodd god o arian gydag ef, ac ni fydd yn �l nes y bydd y lleuad yn llawn."
21With her much enticement she beguiled him; with the smoothness of her lips she constrained him.
21 Y mae'n ei ddenu �'i phersw�d, ac yn ei hudo �'i geiriau gwenieithus.
22He went after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, and as stocks [serve] for the correction of the fool;
22 Y mae yntau'n ei dilyn heb oedi, fel ych yn mynd i'r lladd-dy, fel carw yn neidio i'r rhwyd
23till an arrow strike through his liver: as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for its life.
23 cyn i'r saeth ei drywanu i'r byw, fel aderyn yn hedeg yn syth i'r fagl heb wybod fod ei einioes mewn perygl.
24And now, ye sons, hearken unto me, and attend to the words of my mouth.
24 Yn awr, blant, gwrandewch arnaf, a rhowch sylw i'm geiriau.
25Let not thy heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths:
25 Paid � gadael i'th galon dy ddenu i'w ffyrdd, a phaid � chrwydro i'w llwybrau;
26for she hath cast down many wounded, and all slain by her were strong.
26 oherwydd y mae wedi taro llawer yn gelain, a lladdwyd nifer mawr ganddi.
27Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death.
27 Ffordd i Sheol yw ei thu375?, yn arwain i lawr i neuaddau marwolaeth.
