¹And all Israel were registered by genealogy; and behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel. And Judah was carried away to Babylon because of their transgression.

¹このようにすべてのイスラエルびとは系図によって数えられた。これらはイスラエルの列王紀にしるされている。ユダはその不信のゆえにバビロンに捕囚となった。

²And the inhabitants that were first in their possessions in their cities were the Israelites, the priests, the Levites, and the Nethinim.

²その領地の町々に最初に住んだものはイスラエルびと、祭司、レビびとおよび宮に仕えるしもべたちであった。

³And in Jerusalem dwelt of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim, and Manasseh:

³またエルサレムにはユダの子孫、ベニヤミンの子孫およびエフライムとマナセの子孫が住んでいた。

⁴Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Pherez the son of Judah.

⁴すなわちユダの子ペレヅの子孫のうちではアミホデの子ウタイ。アミホデはオムリの子、オムリはイムリの子、イムリはバニの子である。

⁵And of the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn, and his sons.

⁵シロびとのうちでは長子アサヤとそのほかの子たち。

⁶And of the sons of Zerah: Jeuel; and their brethren, six hundred and ninety.

⁶ゼラの子孫のうちではユエルとその兄弟六百九十人。

⁷And of the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah,

⁷ベニヤミンの子孫のうちではハセヌアの子ホダビヤの子であるメシュラムの子サル、

⁸and Jibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri, and Meshullam the son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Jibnijah;

⁸エロハムの子イブニヤ、ミクリの子であるウジの子エラおよびイブニヤの子リウエルの子であるシパテヤの子メシュラム、

⁹and their brethren, according to their generations, nine hundred and fifty-six. All these men were chief fathers in their fathers' houses.

⁹ならびに彼らの兄弟たちで、その系図によれば合わせて九百五十六人。これらの人々は皆その氏族の長であった。

¹⁰And of the priests: Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, and Jachin,

¹¹and Azariah the son of Hilkijah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of the house of God;

¹¹およびヒルキヤの子アザリヤ、ヒルキヤはメシュラムの子、メシュラムはザドクの子、ザドクはメラヨテの子、メラヨテはアヒトブの子である。アザリヤは神の宮のつかさである。

¹²and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah, and Masai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;

¹²またエロハムの子アダヤ、エロハムはパシュルの子、パシュルはマルキヤの子である。またアデエルの子はマアセヤ、アデエルはヤゼラの子、ヤゼラはメシュラムの子、メシュラムはメシレモテの子、メシレモテはインメルの子である。

¹³and their brethren, heads of their fathers' houses, a thousand and seven hundred and sixty; able men for the work of the service of the house of God.

¹³そのほかに彼らの兄弟たちもあった。これらはその氏族の長で、合わせて一千七百六十人、みな神の宮の務をするのに、はなはだ力のある人々であった。

¹⁴And of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;

¹⁴レビびとのうちではハシュブの子シマヤ、ハシュブはアズリカムの子、アズリカムはハシャビヤの子で、これらはメラリの子孫である。

¹⁵and Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal; and Mattaniah the son of Micah, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;

¹⁵またバクバッカル、ヘレシ、ガラル、およびアサフの子ジクリの子であるミカの子マッタニヤ、

¹⁶and Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun; and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.

¹⁶ならびにエドトンの子ガラルの子であるシマヤの子オバデヤおよびエルカナの子であるアサの子ベレキヤ、エルカナはネトパびとの村里に住んだ者である。

¹⁷And the doorkeepers: Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren; Shallum was the chief.

¹⁷門を守るものはシャルム、アックブ、タルモン、アヒマンおよびその兄弟たちで、シャルムはその長であった。

¹⁸And they have been hitherto in the king's gate eastward: they were the doorkeepers in the camps of the children of Levi.

¹⁸彼は今日まで東の方にある王の門を守っている。これらはレビの子孫で営の門を守る者である。

¹⁹And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent, and their fathers, set over the camp of Jehovah, were keepers of the entrance.

¹⁹コラの子エビヤサフの子であるコレの子シャルムおよびその氏族の兄弟たちなどのコラびとは幕屋のもろもろの門を守る務をつかさどった。その先祖たちは主の営をつかさどり、その入口を守る者であった。

²⁰And Phinehas the son of Eleazar was the ruler over them formerly; Jehovah was with him.

²⁰エレアザルの子ピネハスが、むかし彼らのつかさであった。主は彼とともにおられた。

²¹Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was doorkeeper at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

²¹メシレミヤの子ゼカリヤは会見の幕屋の門を守る者であった。

²²All these chosen to be doorkeepers at the thresholds were two hundred and twelve. These were registered by genealogy according to their villages: David and Samuel the seer had instituted them in their trust.

²²これらは皆選ばれて門を守る者で、合わせて二百十二人あった。彼らはその村々で系図によって数えられた者で、ダビデと先見者サムエルが彼らを職に任じたのである。

²³And they and their sons were at the gates of the house of Jehovah, the house of the tent, to keep watch there.

²³こうして彼らとその子孫は監守人として、主の家である幕屋の家の門をつかさどった。

²⁴At the four quarters were the doorkeepers, toward the east, west, north, and south.

²⁴門を守る者は東西南北の四方にいた。

²⁵And their brethren, in their villages, were to come after [every] seven days from time to time with them.

²⁵またその村々にいる兄弟たちは七日ごとに代り、来て彼らを助けた。

²⁶For in their trust these four were the chief doorkeepers: they were Levites; and they were over the chambers and over the treasuries of the house of God;

²⁶門を守る者の長である四人のレビびとは神の家のもろもろの室と宝とをつかさどった。

²⁷for they stayed round about the house of God during the night, because the charge was upon them, and the opening thereof every morning [pertained] to them.

²⁷彼らは神の家を守る身であるから、そのまわりに宿った。そして朝ごとにこれを開くことをした。

²⁸And [part] of them had the charge of the instruments of service, for by number they brought them in and by number they brought them out.

²⁸そのうちに務の器をつかさどる者があった。彼らはその数を調べて携え入り、またその数を調べて携え出した。

²⁹[Part] of them also were appointed over the vessels, and over all the holy instruments, and over the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.

²⁹またそのほかの品、すべての聖なる器および麦粉、ぶどう酒、油、乳香、香料をつかさどる者があった。

³⁰And it was [some one] of the sons of the priests who compounded the ointment of the spices.

³⁰また祭司のともがらのうちに香料を混ぜる者があった。

³¹And Mattithiah of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, was in trust over the things that were made in the pans.

³¹コラびとシャルムの長子でレビびとのひとりであるマタテヤはせんべいを造る勤めをつかさどった。

³²And [some] of the sons of the Kohathites, their brethren, were over the loaves to be set in rows, to prepare them every sabbath.

³²またコハテびとの子孫であるその兄弟たちのうちに供えのパンをつかさどって、安息日ごとにこれを整える者どもがあった。

³³And these were the singers, chief fathers of the Levites, [who were] in the chambers free from service; for they were employed day and night.

³³レビびとの氏族の長であるこれらの者は歌うたう者であって、宮のもろもろの室に住み、ほかの務はしなかった。彼らは日夜自分の務に従ったからである。

³⁴These are the chief fathers of the Levites, heads according to their families; these dwelt in Jerusalem.

³⁴これらはレビびとの歴代の氏族の長であって、かしらたる人々であった。彼らはエルサレムに住んだ。

³⁵And at Gibeon dwelt the father of Gibeon, Jeiel, and his wife's name was Maachah.

³⁵ギベオンの父エヒエルはギベオンに住んでいた。その妻の名はマアカといった。

³⁶And his son, the firstborn, was Abdon, and Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab,

³⁶彼の長子はアブドン、次はツル、キシ、バアル、ネル、ナダブ、

³⁷and Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloth;

³⁷ゲドル、アヒオ、ゼカリヤ、ミクロテである。

³⁸and Mikloth begot Shimeam. And they also dwelt beside their brethren in Jerusalem, with their brethren.

³⁸ミクロテはシメアムを生んだ。彼らもその兄弟たちとともにエルサレムに住んで、その兄弟たちと向かいあっていた。

³⁹And Ner begot Kish; and Kish begot Saul; and Saul begot Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Esh-baal.

³⁹ネルはキシを生み、キシはサウルを生み、サウルはヨナタン、マルキシュア、アビナダブ、エシバアルを生んだ。

⁴⁰And the son of Jonathan was Merib-Baal; and Merib-Baal begot Micah.

⁴⁰ヨナタンの子はメリバアルで、メリバアルはミカを生んだ。

⁴¹And the sons of Micah: Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea.

⁴¹ミカの子らはピトン、メレク、タレアおよびアハズである。

⁴²And Ahaz begot Jarah: and Jarah begot Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri begot Moza;

⁴²アハズはヤラを生み、ヤラはアレメテ、アズマウテおよびジムリを生み、ジムリはモザを生み、

⁴³and Moza begot Binea; and Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.

⁴³モザはビネアを生んだ。ビネアの子はレパヤ、その子はエレアサ、その子はアゼルである。アゼルに六人の男の子があった。その名はアズリカム、ボケル、イシマエル、シャリヤ、オバデヤ、ハナン。これらはみなアゼルの子らであった。

⁴⁴And Azel had six sons, and these are their names: Azrikam, Bochru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan; these were the sons of Azel.

⁴⁴アゼルに六人の男の子があった。その名はアズリカム、ボケル、イシマエル、シャリヤ、オバデヤ、ハナン。これらはみなアゼルの子らであった。
