¹{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} The king shall joy in thy strength, Jehovah; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice.

²Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.

³For thou hast met him with the blessings of goodness; thou hast set a crown of pure gold on his head.

³あなたは大いなる恵みをもって彼を迎え、そのかしらに純金の冠をいただかせられる。

⁴He asked life of thee; thou gavest [it] him, length of days for ever and ever.

⁴彼がいのちを求めると、あなたはそれを彼にさずけ、世々限りなくそのよわいを長くされた。

⁵His glory is great through thy salvation; majesty and splendour hast thou laid upon him.

⁵あなたの助けによって彼の栄光は大きい。あなたは誉と威厳とを彼に与えられる。

⁶For thou hast made him to be blessings for ever; thou hast filled him with joy by thy countenance.

⁶まことに、あなたは彼をとこしえに恵まれた者とし、み前に喜びをもって楽しませられる。

⁷For the king confideth in Jehovah: and through the loving-kindness of the Most High he shall not be moved.

⁷王は主に信頼するゆえ、いと高き者のいつくしみをこうむって、動かされることはない。

⁸Thy hand shall find out all thine enemies; thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

⁸あなたの手はもろもろの敵を尋ね出し、あなたの右の手はあなたを憎む者を尋ね出すであろう。

⁹Thou shalt make them as a fiery furnace in the time of thy presence; Jehovah shall swallow them up in his anger, and the fire shall devour them:

⁹あなたが怒る時、彼らを燃える炉のようにするであろう。主はみ怒りによって彼らをのみつくされる。火は彼らを食いつくすであろう。

¹⁰Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.

¹⁰あなたは彼らのすえを地から断ち、彼らの種を人の子らの中から滅ぼすであろう。

¹¹For they intended evil against thee; they imagined a mischievous device, which they could not execute.

¹¹たとい彼らがあなたにむかって悪い事を企て、悪いはかりごとを思いめぐらしても、なし遂げることはできない。

¹²For thou wilt make them turn their back; thou wilt make ready thy bowstring against their face.

¹²あなたは彼らを逃げ走らせ、あなたの弓弦を張って、彼らの顔をねらうであろう。主よ、力をあらわして、みずからを高くしてください。われらはあなたの大能をうたい、かつほめたたえるでしょう。

¹³Be thou exalted, Jehovah, in thine own strength: we will sing and celebrate thy power.
