1{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} In thee, Jehovah, do I trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
1主よ、わたしはあなたに寄り頼みます。とこしえにわたしをはずかしめず、あなたの義をもってわたしをお助けください。
2Incline thine ear to me, deliver me speedily; be a strong rock to me, a house of defence to save me.
2あなたの耳をわたしに傾けて、すみやかにわたしをお救いください。わたしのためにのがれの岩となり、わたしを救う堅固な城となってください。
3For thou art my rock and my fortress; and, for thy name's sake, thou wilt lead me and guide me.
3まことに、あなたはわたしの岩、わたしの城です。み名のためにわたしを引き、わたしを導き、
4Draw me out of the net that they have hidden for me; for thou art my strength.
4わたしのためにひそかに設けた網からわたしを取り出してください。あなたはわたしの避け所です。
5Into thy hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, Jehovah, [thou] ùGod of truth.
5わたしは、わが魂をみ手にゆだねます。主、まことの神よ、あなたはわたしをあがなわれました。
6I have hated them that observe lying vanities; and as for me, I have confided in Jehovah.
6あなたはむなしい偶像に心を寄せる者を憎まれます。しかしわたしは主に信頼し、
7I will be glad and rejoice in thy loving-kindness, for thou hast seen mine affliction; thou hast known the troubles of my soul,
7あなたのいつくしみを喜び楽しみます。あなたがわたしの苦しみをかえりみ、わたしの悩みにみこころをとめ、
8And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large place.
8わたしを敵の手にわたさず、わたしの足を広い所に立たせられたからです。
9Be gracious unto me, Jehovah, for I am in trouble: mine eye wasteth away with vexation, my soul and my belly.
9主よ、わたしをあわれんでください。わたしは悩み苦しんでいます。わたしの目は憂いによって衰え、わたしの魂も、からだもまた衰えました。
10For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing; my strength faileth through mine iniquity, and my bones are wasted.
10わたしのいのちは悲しみによって消えゆき、わたしの年は嘆きによって消えさり、わたしの力は苦しみによって尽き、わたしの骨は枯れはてました。
11More than to all mine oppressors, I am become exceedingly a reproach, even to my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that see me without flee from me.
11わたしはすべてのあだにそしられる者となり、隣り人には恐れられ、知り人には恐るべき者となり、ちまたでわたしを見る者は避けて逃げます。
12I am forgotten in [their] heart as a dead man; I am become like a broken vessel.
12わたしは死んだ者のように人の心に忘れられ、破れた器のようになりました。
13For I have heard the slander of many -- terror on every side -- when they take counsel together against me: they plot to take away my life.
13まことに、わたしは多くの人のささやくのを聞きます、「至る所に恐るべきことがある」と。彼らはわたしに逆らってともに計り、わたしのいのちを取ろうと、たくらむのです。
14But I confided in thee, Jehovah; I said, thou art my God.
14しかし、主よ、わたしはあなたに信頼して、言います、「あなたはわたしの神である」と。
15My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from my persecutors.
15わたしの時はあなたのみ手にあります。わたしをわたしの敵の手と、わたしを責め立てる者から救い出してください。
16Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; save me in thy loving-kindness.
16み顔をしもべの上に輝かせ、いつくしみをもってわたしをお救いください。
17Jehovah, let me not be ashamed; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, let them be silent in Sheol.
17主よ、わたしはあなたに呼ばわります、わたしをはずかしめないでください。悪しき者に恥をうけさせ、彼らに声をあげさせずに陰府に行かせてください。
18Let the lying lips become dumb, which speak insolently against the righteous in pride and contempt.
18高ぶりと侮りとをもって正しい者をみだりにそしる偽りのくちびるをつぐませてください。
19[Oh] how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee, [which] thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee, before the sons of men!
19あなたを恐れる者のためにたくわえ、あなたに寄り頼む者のために人の子らの前に施されたあなたの恵みはいかに大いなるものでしょう。
20Thou keepest them concealed in the secret of thy presence from the conspiracies of man; thou hidest them in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
20あなたは彼らをみ前のひそかな所に隠して人々のはかりごとを免れさせ、また仮屋のうちに潜ませて舌の争いを避けさせられます。
21Blessed be Jehovah; for he hath shewn me wondrously his loving-kindness in a strong city.
21主はほむべきかな、包囲された町のようにわたしが囲まれたとき、主は驚くばかりに、いつくしみをわたしに示された。
22As for me, I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes; nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.
22わたしは驚きあわてて言った、「わたしはあなたの目の前から断たれた」と。しかしわたしがあなたに助けを呼び求めたとき、わたしの願いを聞きいれられた。
23Love Jehovah, all ye his saints. Jehovah preserveth the faithful, and plentifully requiteth the proud doer.
23すべての聖徒よ、主を愛せよ。主は真実な者を守られるが、おごりふるまう者にはしたたかに報いられる。すべて主を待ち望む者よ、強くあれ、心を雄々しくせよ。
24Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all ye that hope in Jehovah.
