¹He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

²I say of Jehovah, My refuge and my fortress; my God, I will confide in him.

²主に言うであろう、「わが避け所、わが城、わが信頼しまつるわが神」と。

³Surely *he* shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from the destructive pestilence.

³主はあなたをかりゅうどのわなと、恐ろしい疫病から助け出されるからである。

⁴He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou find refuge: his truth is a shield and buckler.

⁴主はその羽をもって、あなたをおおわれる。あなたはその翼の下に避け所を得るであろう。そのまことは大盾、また小盾である。

⁵Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, for the arrow that flieth by day,

⁵あなたは夜の恐ろしい物をも、昼に飛んでくる矢をも恐れることはない。

⁶For the pestilence that walketh in darkness, for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

⁶また暗やみに歩きまわる疫病をも、真昼に荒す滅びをも恐れることはない。

⁷A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; [but] it shall not come nigh thee.

⁷たとい千人はあなたのかたわらに倒れ、万人はあなたの右に倒れても、その災はあなたに近づくことはない。

⁸Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold, and see the reward of the wicked.

⁸あなたはただ、その目をもって見、悪しき者の報いを見るだけである。

⁹Because *thou* hast made Jehovah, my refuge, the Most High, thy dwelling-place,

⁹あなたは主を避け所とし、いと高き者をすまいとしたので、

¹⁰There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent.

¹⁰災はあなたに臨まず、悩みはあなたの天幕に近づくことはない。

¹¹For he shall give his angels charge concerning thee, to keep thee in all thy ways:

¹¹これは主があなたのために天使たちに命じて、あなたの歩むすべての道であなたを守らせられるからである。

¹²They shall bear thee up in [their] hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

¹²彼らはその手で、あなたをささえ、石に足を打ちつけることのないようにする。

¹³Thou shalt tread upon the lion and the adder; the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under foot.

¹³あなたはししと、まむしとを踏み、若いししと、へびとを足の下に踏みにじるであろう。

¹⁴Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

¹⁴彼はわたしを愛して離れないゆえに、わたしは彼を助けよう。彼はわが名を知るゆえに、わたしは彼を守る。

¹⁵He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him.

¹⁵彼がわたしを呼ぶとき、わたしは彼に答える。わたしは彼の悩みのときに、共にいて、彼を救い、彼に光栄を与えよう。わたしは長寿をもって彼を満ち足らせ、わが救を彼に示すであろう。

¹⁶With length of days will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
