1My son, attend unto my wisdom, incline thine ear to my understanding;

2that thou mayest keep reflection, and that thy lips may preserve knowledge.
2Hiheveranao tsara ny fisainana mazava Sy hitandreman'ny molotrao ny fahalalana.
3For the lips of the strange woman drop honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil;
3Fa ny molotry ny vehivavy jejo dia mitete toy ny tantely avy amin'ny tohotra, Ary ny vavany dia malama noho ny diloilo;[Heb. vehivavy tsy vadiny]
4but her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
4Nefa ny farany mangidy tahaka ny hazo mahafaty Ary maranitra hoatra ny sabatra roa lela.
5Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on Sheol.
5Ny tongony midina ho any amin'ny fahafatesana, Ary ny diany mizotra ho any amin'ny fiainan-tsi-hita. [Heb. Sheola]
6Lest she should ponder the path of life, her ways wander, she knoweth not [whither].
6Tsy mahazo mandia ny lalan'aina mihitsy izy, Fa manjenjena, ka tsy fantany akory izay halehany.
7And now, children, hearken unto me, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
7Koa mihainoa ahy, ry zanaka, Ary aza miala amin'ny teny aloaky ny vavako.
8Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
8Ampanalaviro azy ny alehanao, Ary aza manakaiky ny varavaran'ny tranony;
9lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel;
9Fandrao omenao ho an'ny sasany ny voninahitrao, Ary ny taonanao ho an'izay lozabe;
10lest strangers be filled with thy wealth, and the fruits of thy toil [come] into the house of a stranger;
10Fandrao hivokisan'ny vahiny ny fanananao; Ary izay nisasaranao ho tonga ao an-tranon'ny vahiny;
11and thou mourn in thine end, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed;
11Ka dia hitoloko ianao any am-parany, Raha mihalevona ny nofonao sy ny tenanao;
12and thou say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof!
12Dia hanao hoe ianao: Nahoana re no nankahala famaizana aho? Ary nahoana no naniratsira fanaranana ny foko,
13and I have not hearkened unto the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to those that instructed me;
13Ka tsy nihaino ny tenin'ny mpanoro hevitra ahy, Ary tsy nanongilana ny sofiko hihaino ny mpampianatra ahy?
14I was well nigh in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
14Efa saiky azon'ny ratsy rehetra aho Tao amin'ny fiangonana sy ny fivoriana.
15Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
15Misotroa rano avy amin'ny lavaka famorian-dranonao ihany Sy rano miboiboika avy amin'ny fantsakanao.
16Thy fountains shall be poured forth, as water-brooks in the broadways.
16Hipasaka eny ivelany va ny rano avy amin'ny loharanonao, Ary eny an-dalambe ny rano velonao?
17Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.
17Aoka ho anao irery ihany izany, Fa aza iombonana amin'ny hafa.
18Let thy fountain be blessed; and have joy of the wife of thy youth.
18Aoka hotahina ny loharanonao, Ary mifalia amin'ny vadin'ny fahatanoranao.
19As a lovely hind and a graceful roe, let her breasts satisfy thee at all times: be thou ravished continually with her love.
19Fa dieravavy mahate-ho-tia sy osi-dia tsara bika izy, Dia aoka ny tratrany no hahafeno fifaliana anao mandrakariva, Ary aoka ho feno faharavoravoana lalandava amin'ny fitiavany ianao.
20And why shouldest thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
20Nahoana ianao, anaka, no ho renoka amin'ny fitiavana vehivavy jejo Ka hanohona ny tratran'ny vahiny janga? [Heb. vehivavy tsy vadiny]
21For the ways of man are before the eyes of Jehovah, and he pondereth all his paths.
21Fa eo imason'i Jehovah ny alehan'ny olona, Ary ny diany rehetra dia dinihiny avokoa.
22His own iniquities shall take the wicked, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.
22Ny heloky ny ratsy fanahy dia mahazo ny tenany ihany, Ary ny kofehin'ny fahotany no itanana azyMaty noho ny tsi-fahazoany famaizana izy, Eny, mikorapaka noho ny haben'ny fahadalany.
23He shall die for want of discipline; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
