1And afterwards Moses and Aaron went in, and said to Pharaoh, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Let my people go that they may celebrate a feast to me in the wilderness.
1അതിന്റെശേഷം മോശെയും അഹരോനും ചെന്നു ഫറവോനോടുമരുഭൂമിയില് എനിക്കു ഉത്സവം കഴിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ ജനത്തെ വിട്ടയക്കേണം എന്നിപ്രകാരം യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
2And Pharaoh said, Who is Jehovah, to whose voice I am to hearken to let Israel go? I do not know Jehovah, neither will I let Israel go.
2അതിന്നു ഫറവോന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ വിട്ടയപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് ആര്? ഞാന് യഹോവയെ അറികയില്ല; ഞാന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ വിട്ടയക്കയുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
3And they said, The God of the Hebrews has met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to Jehovah our God; lest he fall upon us with pestilence or with sword.
3അതിന്നു അവര്എബ്രായരുടെ ദൈവം ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായ്വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് മഹാമാരിയാലോ വാളാലോ ഞങ്ങളെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങള് മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തെ വഴി മരുഭൂമിയില് പോയി, ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4And the king of Egypt said to them, Why do ye, Moses and Aaron, wish to have the people go off from their works? Away, to your burdens!
4മിസ്രയീംരാജാവു അവരോടുമോശേ, അഹരോനേ, നിങ്ങള് ജനങ്ങളെ വേല മിനക്കെടുത്തുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഊഴിയ വേലെക്കു പോകുവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
5And Pharaoh said, Behold the people of the land are now many, and ye wish to make them rest from their burdens.
5ദേശത്തു ജനം ഇപ്പോള് വളരെ ആകുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് അവരെ അവരുടെ ഊഴിയവേല മിനക്കെടുത്തുന്നു എന്നും ഫറവോന് പറഞ്ഞു.
6And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people, and their officers, saying,
6അന്നു ഫറവോന് ജനത്തിന്റെ ഊഴിയ വിചാരകന്മാരോടും പ്രമാണികളോടും കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാല്
7Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves.
7ഇഷ്ടിക ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാന് ജനത്തിന്നു മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ ഇനി വൈക്കോല് കൊടുക്കരുതു; അവര് തന്നേ പോയി വൈക്കോല് ശേഖരിക്കട്ടെ.
8And the number of the bricks they have made heretofore shall ye lay upon them: ye shall not diminish any of it, for they are idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go [and] sacrifice to our God.
8എങ്കിലും ഇഷ്ടികയുടെ കണകൂ മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ അവരുടെ മേല് ചുമത്തേണം; ഒട്ടും കുറെക്കരുതു. അവര് മടിയന്മാര്; അതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നുഞങ്ങള് പോയി ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു യാഗം കഴിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു നിലവിളിക്കുന്നതു.
9Let them put heavier labour on the men, that they may be taken up with it, and not regard vain words.
9അവരുടെ വേല അതിഭാരമായിരിക്കട്ടെ; അവര് അതില് കഷ്ടപ്പെടട്ടെ;
10And the taskmasters of the people and their officers went out and spoke to the people, saying, Thus says Pharaoh: I will not give you straw:
10അവരുടെ വ്യാജവാക്കുകള് കേള്ക്കരുതു. അങ്ങനെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഊഴിയവിചാരകന്മാരും പ്രമാണികളും ചെന്നു ജനത്തോടുനിങ്ങള്ക്കു വൈക്കോല് തരികയില്ല,
11go ye, get yourselves straw where ye may find it; but none of your work shall be diminished.
11നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ പോയി കിട്ടുന്നേടത്തുനിന്നു വൈക്കോല് ശേഖരിപ്പിന് ; എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ വേലയില് ഒട്ടും കുറെക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഫറവോന് കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
12And the people were scattered abroad throughout the land of Egypt to gather stubble for straw.
12അങ്ങനെ ജനം വൈക്കോലിന്നു പകരം താളടി ശേഖരിപ്പാന് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു എല്ലാടവും ചിതറി നടന്നു.
13And the taskmasters urged [them], saying, Fulfil your labours, the daily work, as when there was straw.
13ഊഴിയ വിചാരകന്മാര് അവരെ ഹേമിച്ചുവൈക്കോല് കിട്ടിവന്നപ്പോള് ഉള്ളതിന്നു ശരിയായി നിങ്ങളുടെ നിത്യവേല ദിവസവും തികെക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
14And the officers of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh's taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, [and] it was said, Why have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick, both yesterday and to-day, as heretofore?
14ഫറവോന്റെ ഊഴിയവിചാരകന്മാര് യിസ്രായേല് മക്കളുടെ മേല് ആക്കിയിരുന്ന പ്രമാണികളെ അടിച്ചുനിങ്ങള് ഇന്നലെയും ഇന്നും മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ ഇഷ്ടിക തികെക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
15Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried to Pharaoh, saying, Why dost thou deal thus with thy bondmen?
15അതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ പ്രാമണികള് ചെന്നു ഫറവോനോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അടിയങ്ങളോടു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു?
16There is no straw given to thy bondmen, and they say to us, Make brick; and behold, thy bondmen are beaten, but it is the fault of thy people.
16അടിയങ്ങള്ക്കു വൈക്കോല് തരാതെ ഇഷ്ടിക ഉണ്ടാക്കുവിന് എന്നു അവര് പറയുന്നു; അടിയങ്ങളെ തല്ലുന്നു; അതു നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു പാപമാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
17And he said, Ye are idle, idle! therefore ye say, Let us go and sacrifice to Jehovah.
17അതിന്നു അവന് മടിയന്മാരാകുന്നു നിങ്ങള്, മടിയന്മാര്; അതുകൊണ്ടുഞങ്ങള് പോയി യഹോവേക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നു.
18And now go -- work! and straw shall not be given you, and ye shall deliver the measure of bricks.
18പോയി വേല ചെയ്വിന് ; വൈക്കോല് തരികയില്ല, ഇഷ്ടിക കണകൂപോലെ ഏല്പിക്കേണംതാനും എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
19And the officers of the children of Israel saw [that] it stood ill with them, because it was said, Ye shall not diminish anything from your bricks, the daily work.
19ദിവസംതോറുമുള്ള ഇഷ്ടികക്കണക്കില് ഒന്നും കുറെക്കരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചപ്പോള് തങ്ങള് വിഷമത്തിലായി എന്നു യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ പ്രാമണികള് കണ്ടു.
20And they met Moses and Aaron, who stood there to meet them, as they came out from Pharaoh.
20അവര് ഫറവോനെ വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോള് മോശെയും അഹരോനും വഴിയില് നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു,
21And they said to them, Jehovah look upon you and judge, that ye have made our odour to stink in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his bondmen, putting a sword into their hand to kill us!
21അവരോടു നിങ്ങള് ഫറവോന്റെയും അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ ഞങ്ങളെ നാറ്റി, ഞങ്ങളെ കൊല്ലുവാന് അവരുടെ കയ്യില് വാള് കൊടുത്തതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ നോക്കി ന്യായം വിധിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
22And Moses returned to Jehovah, and said, Lord, why hast thou done evil to this people? why now hast thou sent me?
22അപ്പോള് മോശെ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുകര്ത്താവേ, നീ ഈ ജനത്തിന്നു ദോഷം വരുത്തിയതു എന്തു? നീ എന്നെ അയച്ചതു എന്തിന്നു?
23For ever since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all!
23ഞാന് നിന്റെ നാമത്തില് സംസാരിപ്പാന് ഫറവോന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നതുമുതല് അവന് ഈ ജനത്തോടു ദോഷം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ ജനത്തെ നീ വിടുവിച്ചതുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
