¹And Zophar the Naamathite answered and said,

¹Huan zophar Naamanmi in a dawnga, huchiin a chi a:

²Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man of much talk be justified?

²Thu tampite dawn louh ding ahia hia? huan mi houlimnaa dim siamtansak ding hia?

³Should thy fictions make men hold their peace? and shouldest thou mock, and no one make [thee] ashamed?

³Na kisaktheihnaten mite daisak ding hia? huan na simmoh chiangin, kuamahin nang honzahlaksak lou ding uhia?

⁴For thou sayest, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.

⁴Ka thuhilh a siangthoua, huan na mit uah ka siang hi, na chi ngala.

⁵But oh that +God would speak, and open his lips against thee;

⁵Himahleh Pathianin thugen maijen le jaw, nang demin a mukte hongleh;

⁶And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, how that they are the double of what is realised; and know that +God passeth by [much] of thine iniquity!

⁶Huchin pilna thugukte nang a honensak dinga, a theihna ah thuah tampi ahi chih: huaijiakin na thulimlouhna gun sanga tawmjaw na lakah Pathianin nang a honphut chih theiin.

⁷Canst thou by searching find out +God? canst thou find out the Almighty to perfection?

⁷Zonin Pathian na mu thei diam; hoihkimna ah Thilbangkimhihthei na mu thei diam?

⁸[It is as] the heights of heaven; what wilt thou do? deeper than Sheol; what canst thou know?

⁸Van bangin a sanga; bang na hih thei dia? Seol sangin a thuka; bang na thei thei dia?

⁹The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

⁹Huaia tehna lei sangin a saujawa, tuipi sangin a zajaw hi.

¹⁰If he pass by, and shut up, and call to judgment, who can hinder him?

¹⁰Paisuak henla, man henla, huan vaihawmna ah sam leh, huchiin kuan amah a dal thei dia?

¹¹For he knoweth vain men, and seeth wickedness when [man] doth not consider it;

¹¹Aman lah mi bangmahloute a thei ngala: ngaihtuah kei mahleh, thu limlouhna leng a mu hi.

¹²Yet a senseless man will make bold, though man be born [like] the foal of a wild ass.

¹³If thou prepare thy heart and stretch out thy hands toward him,

¹³Na lungtang na koih dika, amah lama na khutte na jak leh;

¹⁴If thou put far away the iniquity which is in thy hand, and let not wrong dwell in thy tents;

¹⁴Na khuta thulimlouhna a oma, gamlapia na koihkhiaka, gitlouhna na puanina na tensak kei leh;

¹⁵Surely then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot, and thou shalt be stedfast and shalt not fear:

¹⁵Huchiin gensiatna ding omlouin na mai na daksak taktak dinga; ahi, na kip dinga, na lau kei ding:

¹⁶For thou shalt forget misery; as waters that are passed away shalt thou remember it;

¹⁶Na haksatna na mangngilh ding jiakin; tui luang mangsa bangin na theigige ding hi:

¹⁷And life shall arise brighter than noonday; though thou be enshrouded in darkness, thou shalt be as the morning,

¹⁷Huan sunlai sangin na hinna a telzo dinga; khomial om mahleh, jingsang bang ahi ding hi.

¹⁸And thou shalt have confidence, because there shall be hope; and having searched about [thee], thou shalt take rest in safety.

¹⁸Huan lametna a om jiakin, na kipta ding hi; ahi, amah tanchin na zong dinga, muangin na khawlta ding hi.

¹⁹Yea, thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; and many shall seek thy favour.

¹⁹Lup leng na lum lai dinga, huan kuamahin nang honlausak kei ding uhi; ahi, mi tampiin nang a honzong ding uhi.Himahleh gilou mitte a juausuak dinga, taina ding lampi a neikei ding ua, huan a lametna uh kha khah ahi ding hi.

²⁰But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and [all] refuge shall vanish from them, and their hope [shall be] the breathing out of life.
