1And Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
1Huchiin Elipha Teman miin a dawng a, hichiin a chi a:
2Should a wise man answer with windy knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind,
2Mi pilin theihna bangmahlou toh dawnna a bawlin, suahlam huihin a gilpi a dimsak sak diam?
3Reasoning with unprofitable talk, and with speeches which do no good?
3Houlimna phatuamlou toh thu a ngaihtuahin, ahihkeileh hoih a hih theihna louh dinga thugente a ngaihtuah diam?
4Yea, thou makest piety of none effect, and restrainest meditation before ùGod.
4A hi, launa na hihmanga, huan Pathian maa kipiakzohna na dal lai hi.
5For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou hast chosen the tongue of the crafty.
5Na thulimlouhnain lah na kam a sinsaka, zekhemhat mi lei na tel ngal a.
6Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I; and thy lips testify against thee.
6Nang mahmah kamin nang siamlouh ahontang saka, kei hilouin; ahi, nang demin nangmah mukte mahmahin a hontheihpih hi.
7Art thou the first man that was born? and wast thou brought forth before the hills?
7A piang mihing masapen na hi ahia? ahihkeileh tangte maa lakkhiaka om na hi maw?
8Hast thou listened in the secret council of +God? And hast thou absorbed wisdom for thyself?
8Pathian thuhilh guk na za ta hia? huan pilna na kikoih hoih hia?
9What knowest thou that we know not? [what] understandest thou which is not in us?
9Ka theih louh uh bang na theia? koua omlou bang na theisiama?
10Both the greyheaded and the aged are with us, older than thy father.
10Ka lak uah samkang leh mi upa mahmah a om tuaktuak, na pa sanga nakpia upajawte.
11Are the consolations of ùGod too small for thee? and the word gently spoken to thee?
11Pathian nepnate leh siamtaka honhilh thute nang adia neu lua uhia?
12Why doth thy heart carry thee away? and why do thine eyes wink?
12Bangdia na lungtangin nang honpi mang ahia? Bang dia na mitte phia ahia?
13That thou turnest thy spirit against ùGod, and lettest words go out of thy mouth?
13Huchia Pathian dema na lungsim na heia, na kam akipana huchibang thute na pawtkhiak sak.
14What is man, that he should be pure? and he that is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
14Mihing bang ahia, a sian ding? numei apan piang amah kua ahia a diktat ding?
15Behold, he putteth no trust in his holy ones, and the heavens are not pure in his sight:
15Ngaiin, a mi siangthoute ah muanna a koih keia: ahi, a mitmuhin vante a siang kei uhi.
16How much less the abominable and corrupt, -- man, that drinketh unrighteousness like water!
16Mi kihhuai leh sia, mi thulimlouhna tui banga dawn, nak sian keina semin chia:
17I will shew thee, listen to me; and what I have seen I will declare;
17Ka honensak ding, honja in; huan ka muhsa ka phuang ding:
18Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hidden;
18(Huai tuh mi pilten a pipute ua kipan na gen ua, a im kei uh;
19Unto whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them.
19Amau kiangah kia gam tuh piakin a oma, huan mikhual kuamah a lak uah a pai kei uh: )
20All his days the wicked man is tormented, and numbered years are allotted to the violent.
20Mi gilouin a damsung ni tengin natna a thuaka, nuaisiahhatmi adia khawlkhawm kumte zah mahmah.
21The sound of terrors is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer cometh upon him.
21Launa ging a bil ah a oma; hauhlaiin lokmi a tungah a hongpai ding hi:
22He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is singled out for the sword.
22Khomial akipan a hongkik ding chih a um keia, huan namsaua ngakin a om hi.
23He wandereth abroad for bread, -- where may it be? He knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
23Tanghou zongin a tamvaka, Koia om ahia? chiin. Khomial ni a kiang chinah mansain a om chih a theikei hi.
24Distress and anguish make him afraid; they prevail against him, as a king ready for the battle.
24Dahna leh haksatnain amah a lausaka; kumpipa galdou dia mansa bangin, amah a zou uhi.
25For he hath stretched out his hand against ùGod, and strengthened himself against the Almighty:
25Pathian dou dinga a khut a likkhiak jiakin, Thilbangkimhihthei dou dinga kisathei taka a oma,
26He runneth against him, with [outstretched] neck, with the thick bosses of his bucklers;
26A lum, a tuamna sahtaknei toh amah doua a tai teitei jiakin;
27For he hath covered his face with his fatness, and gathered fat upon [his] flanks.
27A thaua a maitang a khuha, a gila thau a kholkhawma,
28And he dwelleth in desolate cities, in houses that no man inhabiteth, which are destined to become heaps.
28Khopi tulsaa a tena, kuamah ten tuak louhna inte, segawp ngiingei dingte a luah jiakin;
29He shall not become rich, neither shall his substance continue, and their possessions shall not extend upon the earth.
29A hau kei dinga, a neihlehlam a om gige kei dinga; amah leiah zung a kai kei ding;
30He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches; and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.
30Khomial akipan a suakta kei dinga, meikuangin a selnoute a kangkeu dinga, a paklunlaite huchin a mut mang ding.
31Let him not trust in vanity: he is deceived, for vanity shall be his recompense;
31Amah kikhemin, banglou ah muang kei hen: bangmahlou lah a thukna hi ding ahi ngala.
32It shall be complete before his day, and his branch shall not be green.
32A hun main hihzohin a om dia, huan ahiang nou kei ding hi.
33He shall shake off his unripe grapes as a vine, and shall cast his flower as an olive.
33Grepgui bangin a gah min lou a singpulh dia, oliv bangin a pak a pai khe ding.
34For the family of the ungodly shall be barren, and fire shall consume the tents of bribery.
34Pathianlimsaklou kithuahpihna lah hut ding ahia, golhna puaninte lah meiin kangmang ding ahi ngala.Siatna a pai ua, thulimlouhna a suakkhe sak uh, huan a lungtang un khemna a opkeuh uh.
35They conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
35Siatna a pai ua, thulimlouhna a suakkhe sak uh, huan a lungtang un khemna a opkeuh uh.
