¹And Job answered and said,

¹Huan Jobin a dawnga, hichiin a chi a:

²I have heard many such things: grievous comforters are ye all.

³Shall words of wind have an end? or what provoketh thee that thou answerest?

³Thu bangmahlouten tawp a nei ding uam? ahihkeileh dawng dinga nang honhihheh bang ahia?

⁴I also could speak as ye: if your soul were in my soul's stead, I could join together words against you, and shake my head at you;

⁴Nou bangin kei leng ka pai thei sam hi; na kha uh ka kha muna om hileh, noute dema thute kaikhawma, ka lu hon sinkhum thei ding hi vengin.

⁵[But] I would encourage you with my mouth, and the solace of my lips should assuage [your pain].

⁵Himahleh ka kamin nou kon hatsak dinga, ka muka muannain na lungkhamna uh kon nem ding.

⁶If I speak, my pain is not assuaged; and if I forbear, what am I eased?

⁶Thu gen mahleng, ka dahna nepin a om keia: huan doh mahleng, hihnopin ka oma hia?

⁷But now he hath made me weary; ... thou hast made desolate all my family;

⁷Himahleh a honchimtak saktaa: ka lawmte tengteng na hihgamta hi.

⁸Thou hast shrivelled me up! it is become a witness; and my leanness riseth up against me, it beareth witness to my face.

⁸Huan kip takin na honlena, huai tuh kei demna theihpihna ahi: huchiin ka gawnna kei demin a thoua, ka mai tangah a theisak hi.

⁹His anger teareth and pursueth me; he gnasheth with his teeth against me; [as] mine adversary he sharpeneth his eyes at me.

⁹A hehnain kei a honbot keka, a honsawi hi; a ha a hon gawi khuma: ka tungah ka galin a mit a tathiam hi.

¹⁰They gape upon me with their mouth; they smite my cheeks reproachfully; they range themselves together against me.

¹⁰A kam uh lianpiin a honkat khum ua; simmoh takin biang ah a honbeng uh: kei dou dingin a kikai khawm ua.

¹¹ùGod hath delivered me over to the iniquitous man, and hurled me into the hands of the wicked.

¹²I was at rest, but he hath shattered me; he hath taken me by the neck and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark.

¹⁷Although there is no violence in my hands, and my prayer is pure.

¹⁷Ka khut ah hiamgamna omkei mahleh, huan ka thumna siangthou mahleh.

¹⁸O earth, cover not my blood, and let there be no place for my cry!

¹⁸Aw lei, ka sisan khuh ken, huan ka kahnain khawlmun neikei hen.

¹⁹Even now, behold, my Witness is in the heavens, and he that voucheth for me is in the heights.

¹⁹Tu mahmahin, Ngaiin, a hontheihpih van ah a oma, kei hontheihpihpa tungsangah a om hi.

²⁰My friends are my mockers; mine eye poureth out tears unto +God.

²⁰Ka lawmten honnuihsan ua, himahleh ka mitin Pathian lamah khituite a sungkhia hi;

²¹Oh that there were arbitration for a man with +God, as a son of man for his friend!

²¹Huchia Pathian laka mihing dikna a letkip theiha, a inveng laka mihing tapa dikna, a letkip theihna dingin:Kum tawm a hongtun chiangin lah ka kik nawn louhna ding lampi ah ka pai ta ding ahi ngala.

²²For years [few] in number shall pass, -- and I shall go the way [whence] I shall not return.
