¹And Job answered and said,

¹Huan Jobin a dawnga, hichiin a chi a:

²How long will ye vex my soul, and crush me with words?

²Bangtan ka kha hihbuaia, thutea honhihjan gawp ding na hi ua?

³These ten times have ye reproached me; ye are not ashamed to stupefy me.

³Hiai sawmvei tak na honkouta ua: ka tunga giloutaka na hih uh na zum kei ua.

⁴And be it [that] I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.

⁴Huan na na paikhialta mawng leng maw, keimah kianga ka diklouhna om gige hi.

⁵If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and prove against me my reproach,

⁵Kei demin nou kiliansak petmah ve nuchin, ka minsiatna ka tungah gen ven uchin:

⁶Know now that +God hath overthrown me, and hath surrounded me with his net.

⁶Pathianin ka thu ah honzouta chih tuin thei un, huan a lenin a honum suak hi.

⁷Behold, I cry out of wrong, and I am not heard; I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.

⁷Ngai un, Hiamgamna, chiin ka kikou khiaa, himahleh jakin ka om kei: panpih deihin ka kikoua, himahleh vaihawmna a om kei hi.

⁸He hath hedged up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.

⁸Ka pai theihlouhna dingin ka lampi a um a, huan ka paina dingte ah khomial a koih hi.

⁹He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.

⁹Ka thupina honsuahsaka, ka lu akipan lallukhu a la.

¹⁰He breaketh me down on every side, and I am gone; and my hope hath he torn up as a tree.

¹⁰Ning chitengah a hon hihniama, ka mangta hi: huan, sing bangin ka lametna a bot khia.

¹¹And he hath kindled his anger against me, and hath counted me unto him as one of his enemies.

¹¹Ka tungah a hehna leng a soua, amah adingin a galte laka khat bangin a honsim hi.

¹²His troops have come together and cast up their way against me, and have encamped round about my tent.

¹²A sepaihpawlte a hongkuan khawm ua, ka siatna dingin a lampi uh a bawl uh, huan ka puanin kimvelin puanin a kai uh.

¹³He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are quite estranged from me.

¹³Kei akipanin ka unaute gamlapi ah a koiha, ka mel-theihte kei akipanin a mituam vekta uh.

¹⁴My kinsfolk have failed, and my known friends have forgotten me.

¹⁴Ka tanauten a honjuausanta ua, huan ka lawm theihngeiten a honmangngilhta uh.

¹⁵The sojourners in my house and my maids count me as a stranger; I am an alien in their sight.

¹⁵Ka in tengte leh, ka sikhanuten, mikhual a honsa ua: a mitmuh un namdangmi ka hi.

¹⁶I called my servant, and he answered not; I entreated him with my mouth.

¹⁶Ka sikha ka sama, a hondawng kei, ka kamin amah khem mahleng leng.

¹⁷My breath is strange to my wife, and my entreaties to the children of my [mother's] womb.

¹⁷Ka ji adingin muhthadahhuai ka hia, ka nu tate adingin, kihhuai.

¹⁸Even young children despise me; I rise up, and they speak against me.

¹⁸Naupang neute nangawnin a honsimmoh ua; ka thoh leh, ka siatna dingin thu a gen uhi.

¹⁹All my intimate friends abhor me, and they whom I loved are turned against me.

¹⁹Ka lawm gilte tengtengin kei a honhua ua: huan amau ka itte ka tungah a hel uh.

²⁰My bones cleave to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.

²⁰Ka guh ka vun ah leh ka sa ah a belh bikbeka, huan ka ha vun toh ka suakta hi.

²¹Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, ye my friends; for the hand of +God hath touched me.

²¹Honhehpih un, honhehpih un, Aw nou ka lawmte; Pathian khutin kei a honkhoihta ngala.

²²Why do ye persecute me as ùGod, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

²²Bangdia Pathian banga nou honsawi na hi ua, ka saa bangdia lungkim lou na hi ua?

²³Oh would that my words were written! oh that they were inscribed in a book!

²³Aw ka thute tuin gelhin om le uh aw; Aw laibu ah kigelh lut le aw;

²⁴That with an iron style and lead they were graven in the rock for ever!

²⁴Sik leh ngen gelhna zumin khantawn adingin suangpia gelh hile uh aw;

²⁵And [as for] me, I know that my Redeemer liveth, and the Last, he shall stand upon the earth;

²⁵Himahleh ka Tanpa a hing chih leh, leitungah a tawp chiangin a ding ding chih ka thei hi:

²⁶And [if] after my skin this shall be destroyed, yet from out of my flesh shall I see +God;

²⁶Huan ka vun huchibanga hihsiata a om khit nungin, himahleh ka sa akipan Pathian ka mu ding hi:

²⁷Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another: -- my reins are consumed within me.

²⁷Keimah adingin amah keimahmahin ka mu dia, huan ka miten a en dia, midang hi louin. Ka sungah ka lungtang a sidangta hi!

²⁸If ye say, How shall we persecute him? when the root of the matter is found in me,

²⁸Amah bangchibangin i sawi ta phet diamah; na chih uleh, kei ah thu bul muhin a om chih theiin;Namsau kihta un: hehnain lah namsau gawtnate a hontun ngala, huchia vaihawmna a om chih na theih theihna ding un.

²⁹Be ye yourselves afraid of the sword! for the sword is fury against misdeeds, that ye may know there is a judgment.
