1And Job answered and said,
1Huan Jonin a dawnga, hichiin a chi a:
2Hear attentively my speech, and let this replace your consolations.
2Ka thugen hoihtakin ngaikhia unla, hiai na khamuanna thu uh hihen.
3Suffer me and I will speak; and after I have spoken, mock on!
3Honthuak teitei unla, ka hon-gen ding a, ka gen khit chiangin nuihsan na nu teh.
4As for me, is my complaint to a man? or wherefore should not my spirit be impatient?
4Kei phunna mihing tungah ahi ahia? Bangdia kuhkalloua omlou ding ka hia?
5Mark me, and be astonished, and lay the hand upon the mouth.
5Honen unla, lamdang sa unla, khutin na kam uh hum un.
6Even when I think [thereon], I am affrighted, and trembling taketh hold of my flesh.
6Ka ngaihtuahin ka lung a donga, linnain ka sa a man nak.
7Wherefore do the wicked live, grow old, yea, become mighty in power?
7Bangjiakin ahia migilou a hina, tekkuna a dama, a hong thupikhiak?
8Their seed is established with them in their sight, and their offspring before their eyes.
8A suante uh a kiang uah a mitmuh uah a hihkipa, a gil ua gahte a mai ma uah.
9Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of +God upon them.
9A inleloute uh lauhuai lakah a bita, Pathian chiang a tunguah a ke kei hi.
10Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
10A bawngtal un chi a khah a, a juau ngeikei, a bawngpi un nou a nei a, a nou a siat ngeikei.
11They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
11Ganhon bangin a taneute uh a pawtsak ua, a tate uh a lam uh.
12They shout to the tambour and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the pipe.
12A pekging uleh kaihging toh kituakin la a sa ua, a tamngai ging uah a kipak uh.
13They spend their days in prosperity, and in a moment go down to Sheol.
13A nite uh lamzangtakin a zang ua, lungmuangin Seol ah a paisuk uh.
14And they say unto ùGod, Depart from us, for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways!
14Huan, Pathian kiangah, Honpaisan in, na lampite theih ka kilawp kei uh.
15What is the Almighty that we should serve him? and what are we profited if we pray unto him?
15Bangkimhihthei banga a hih, a na ka sep ding uh, A kianga ka thum un punna banga ka muh ding uh? a chi uh.
16Behold, their prosperity is not in their hand. The counsel of the wicked be far from me!
16Ngaiin; a lamzanna uh a khut ua om ahi kei ahia? Migilou lemtheihna kei akipana gamlapia om ahi.
17How often is the lamp of the wicked put out, and cometh their calamity upon them? Doth he distribute sorrows [to them] in his anger?
17Migilou meisel bangzah vei tak a mita, vangtahna a tung ua a tuna, a thangpaihnaa Pathianin lungkhamna a piak chiat?
18Do they become as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away?
18Bangzah vei ahia buhpawl huih mut bang a hihua, buhsi huihpi mutmang bang a hih uh?
19+God layeth up [the punishment of] his iniquity for his children; he rewardeth him, and he shall know [it]:
19Pathianin gitlouhnate a tate uh adingin a kholkhawm, na chi ua, amau tungah tungsak le ake, a theihsiam nadingun.
20His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the fury of the Almighty.
20Amau mit ngeiin a siatna uh mu uhenla, Bangkimhihthei thangpaihna dawn uhen.
21For what pleasure should he have in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off?
21Aman nungin a in uh amau adin banga ahih, a kha zah uh hihtawp a hih nungin?
22Can any teach ùGod knowledge? And he it is that judgeth those that are high.
22Kuan ahia Pathian theihna sinsak ding? aman lah sangpia omte vai a hawmsak ngala.
23One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet;
23A lutlaiin mi a si a, nuamsa leh bittaka om in.
24His sides are full of fat, and the marrow of his bones is moistened;
24A sa thauin a dima, a guhngekte leng nawnnain a dim hi.
25And another dieth in bitterness of soul, and hath not tasted good:
25Midang lungkhamtakin a si a, hoihna himhim chiam ngei louin.
26Together they lie down in the dust, and the worms cover them.
26Vutlak ah kibangin a lum ua, thanin a pumtuam hi.
27Lo, I know your thoughts, and the devices ye wrongfully imagine against me.
27Ngaiin, na ngaihtuahte uh ka thei, dikloupia ka tunga na sawmte uh.
28For ye say, Where is the house of the noble? and where the tent of the dwellings of the wicked?
28Koiah ahia kumpi in a om, migilou tenna puanin koiah a om a? na chi uh.
29Have ye not asked the wayfarers? and do ye not regard their tokens:
29Zinzin mite na dong ngeikei ua hia? A gente uh na pom kei ua hia?
30That the wicked is reserved for the day of calamity? They are led forth to the day of wrath.
30Migilou tuh vangtah niin hawiin a om a, thangpaih niin amah hotkhiakin a om, chih.
31Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?
31Kua ahia a maitang a a lampi pulak dinga, kua ahia a thilhih banga amah din ding?
32Yet is he carried to the graves, and watch is kept over the tomb.
32Han lama puak ahih laiin, a han ven ahi.
33The clods of the valley are sweet unto him; and every man followeth suit after him, as there were innumerable before him.
33Luiguama leitangte amah adin a nuama; mi tengteng in a nung a jui ua, amah maa napaite simsenglouh ahi uh.Bangchiin thumumal omlou piin hon khamuan ding na hia? Na dawnnate uah juauthu loungal bangmah a om kei hi.
34How then comfort ye me in vain? Your answers remain perfidious.
34Bangchiin thumumal omlou piin hon khamuan ding na hia? Na dawnnate uah juauthu loungal bangmah a om kei hi.
