Nehemiah

6

1And it came to pass when Sanballat, and Tobijah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had built the wall, and that there was no breach left in it (though at that time I had not set up the doors in the gates),
1Huan huchi ahia, kulhbang ka lamkhina, huaiah khangkham a om nawnta kei chih, Sanballat leh Tobia leh, Gesem Arabia mi leh, i melma dangdangte kianga a kitut laiin; (huai hun tanin leng kongpi kongkhakte tung nai kei mahleng; )
2that Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, Come, let us meet together in the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief.
2Sanballat leh Gesemin ka kiangah mi a honsawl ua, Hongpaiin, Ona phaijanga khuate laka khat ah kimuh khawmna i nei ding, chiin. Himahleh ka tunga gilou hih a ngaihtuah ua.
3And I sent messengers to them, saying, I am doing a great work, and I cannot come down. Why should the work cease, whilst I leave it and come down to you?
3Huchiin a kiang uah sawltakte ka sawla, Na thupi ka sep lai ahia, huchiin ka hongpai suk theikei: bangdia ka nut siata, na kiang ua ka hong suk jiaka, nasep khawl ding ahi oi? Ka chi a.
4And they sent to me four times after this sort; and I answered them in the same manner.
4Huan hichibang ngenin li vei ka kiangah mi a honsawl ua; huan a ngeingeiin amaute ka dawng jel hi.
5Then sent Sanballat his servant to me in this manner the fifth time, with an open letter in his hand,
5Huan Sanballatin ka kiangah hichibangin a ngaveina dingin a sikha a khuta laikhak honsa toh a honsawla;
6in which was written: It is reported among the nations, and Gashmu says [it, that] thou and the Jews think to rebel, for which cause thou buildest the wall, and according to these words thou wilt become their king.
6Huaiah, Namte lak ah a kigena, Gasmuin a chi a, nang leh Judaten hel na tum uh; huai adingin kulhbang na lam hi: huchiin nang a kumpipa uh hi dingin, hiai thute dungjuiin,
7And thou hast also appointed prophets to proclaim concerning thee at Jerusalem saying, There is a king in Judah! And now it will be reported to the king according to these words. Come now therefore, and let us take counsel together.
7Jerusalema nang tanchin gen dingin jawlneite leng na sepa, Juda ah kumpipa a om, chiin: huchiin tuin hiai thute dungjuiin kumpipa kianga tut ding ahi; Hucaijiakin hongkuan inla, kihouna i nei ding, chiin.
8And I sent to him, saying, There are no such things done as thou sayest, but thou feignest them out of thine own heart.
8A kiangah mi ka sawla, Na gen banga huchibang thil hih a om keia, himahleh na lungtang akipan na lawmtawm ahi, chiin.
9For they all would have made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be slackened from the work, that it be not carried out. -- Now therefore strengthen my hands!
9Amau lah, Hih louh a hihna dingin, nasepna akipan a khutte uh hatlouhsakin a om ding, chia honlausak a ut chiat ngal ua. Himahleh tuin Aw Pathian, nang ka khutte hatsakin.
10And I came to the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah, the son of Mehetabeel, who had shut himself up. And he said, Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us shut the doors of the temple; for they are coming to kill thee; even in the night are they coming to kill thee.
10Khuma om, Mehetabel tapa Delai tapa Semai in ah ka hoha; huan aman, Biakin sungah, Pathian in ah i kikhawm dia, huchiin biakin kongkhakte i khak ding: nang that dia hong ding uh lah ahi ngal ua; ahi, janin nang that ding a hong ding uh, a chi a.
11And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, could go into the temple, and live? I will not go in.
11Huan ken, Mi kei bang a tai ding maw? Huan kua ahia, huchia om kei bang, a hinna humbitna dia biakin sunga hoh nuam ding? Ka lut kei ding, ka chi a.
12And I perceived, and behold, God had not sent him; for he pronounced this prophecy against me; and Tobijah and Sanballat had hired him.
12Huan ka ngaihtuaha, huchiin, ngaiin, Pathianin amah a sawl keia; himahleh ka siatna dingin hiai genkholhna a genkheta hi: Tobia leh Sanballatin amah a guai uh.
13Therefore was he hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and that they might have wherewith to spread an evil report, that they might reproach me.
13Hiai adinga goih ahi, ka launa ding leh, huchi banga hiha, khiala, thutut gilou dinga thubuai a neih theihna ding ua, kei a honsimmoh theihna ding un.
14My God, remember Tobijah and Sanballat according to these their works, and also the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets who would have put me in fear.
14Aw ka Pathian, Tobia leh Sanballat hiai nasepte uh bangjel leh jawlneinu Noadi leh, jawlnei dangte, lausak hontumte, theigige in.
15So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth of Elul, in fifty-two days.
15Huchiin Elul kha ni sawmnih leh ni nganiin kulh bang zohin a omta hi, ni sawmnga leh nihin.
16And it came to pass that when all our enemies heard [of it], all the nations that were about us were afraid and were much cast down in their own eyes, and they perceived that this work was wrought by our God.
16Huan hichi ahi a, i melmate tengtengin huai a jak un, i kim i vel ua om khovelmi tengteng a lauta ua, a mitmuh ngei uah nakpi takin a lunglelta uhi: hiai nasep lah i Pathian uh hih ahi chih a thei ngal ua.
17Moreover in those days the nobles of Judah sent many letters to Tobijah, and those of Tobijah came to them.
17Huailouin huai laiin Juda milianten laikhak tampi Tobia kiangah a khak ua, amau kiangah Tobia laikhakte a hongtung hi.
18For there were many in Judah sworn to him; for he was a son-in-law of Shechaniah the son of Arah; and his son Johanan had taken the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berechiah.
18Amah Arah tapa Sekania tanu pasal a hih jiakin, Juda ah mi tampi amah lama kichiam lah a om ngal ua; huan a tapa Jehohananin Berekia tapa Mesulam tanu jiin a nei hi.Huailou leng ka maah a thil hoih hihte a gen ua, amah kiangah ka thute a tun jel uhi. Huchiin Tobiain laikhakte kei honlausak dingin a khak hi.
19Also they spoke of his good deeds before me, and reported my words to him. [And] Tobijah sent letters to put me in fear.
19Huailou leng ka maah a thil hoih hihte a gen ua, amah kiangah ka thute a tun jel uhi. Huchiin Tobiain laikhakte kei honlausak dingin a khak hi.
