Proverbs

2

1My son, if thou receivest my words, and layest up my commandments with thee,
1Ka tapa, ka thute na sana, ka thupiakte nanga na khol khawm leh;
2so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom [and] thou apply thy heart to understanding;
2Huchia pilna lama na bil na doha, theihsiamna lama na lung na suk leh;
3yea, if thou criest after discernment [and] liftest up thy voice to understanding;
3Ahi, theihkakna na sap a, theihsiamna dinga na aw na suah leh;
4if thou seekest her as silver and searchest for her as for hidden treasures:
4Dangka banga huai na zona, gou sel banga huai na zon leh;
5then shalt thou understand the fear of Jehovah, and find the knowledge of God.
5Huchiin Toupa kihtakna na theisiam dinga, Pathian theihna na mu ding hi.
6For Jehovah giveth wisdom; out of his mouth [come] knowledge and understanding.
6Toupan lah pilna a pe ngala; a kam akipanin theihna leh theihsiamna a hong pai.
7He layeth up sound wisdom for the upright; [he] is a shield to them that walk in integrity;
7Midika dingin pilna hoih a khol khawma, muanhuainaa omte amaute ading in lum ahi;
8guarding the paths of just judgment and keeping the way of his godly ones.
8Vaihawmna lampite a ven theihna dingin, a misiangthoute lampi ahawi theihna dingin.
9Then shalt thou understand righteousness and judgment and equity: every good path.
9Huchiin diktatna leh vaihawmna na theisiam dia, huan, hawmsiamna, ahi, lampi hoih chiteng.
10When wisdom entereth into thy heart and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul,
10Na lungtang sungah pilna a honglut sin ngala, huan na kha adingin theihna a nuam ding hi;
11discretion shall keep thee, understanding shall preserve thee:
11Ngentelnain nang a honveng dia, theihsiamnain nang a honkem ding hi.
12To deliver thee from the way of evil, from the man that speaketh froward things;
12Gilou lampi akipan honhun khe ding, mi thil hoihlou gente akipan;
13[from those] who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
13Tanna lampite mangngilh, khomial lampite a pai ding;
14who rejoice to do evil, [and] delight in the frowardness of evil;
14Gilou hih ding kipaka, gilou hoihlouhnaa nuamsa;
15whose paths are crooked, and who are perverted in their course:
15A lampite ua kawia, a lampite ua diklou te;
16To deliver thee from the strange woman, from the stranger who flattereth with her words;
16Numei lamdang akipan nang honhun ding, mikhualnu a thute toha maitangphatnu akipan mahmahin;
17who forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God;
17Aman a tuailai lawm a nusia, a Pathian thukhun a mangngilh hi:
18-- for her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead;
18A inn in lah sihna lam a doha, a lampiten misite lam:
19none that go unto her return again, neither do they attain to the paths of life:
19Amah kiang hoh kuamah a kik nawn kei ua, kuamahin hinna lampite a pha zou sam kei uhi:
20-- that thou mayest walk in the way of the good, and keep the paths of the righteous.
20Mi hoihte lampia na pai theiha, mi diktatte lampi na zuih theihna dingin.
21For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it;
21Mi tangte gamsunga teng ding ahi ua, huan a sungah mi hoihkimte a om tawntung ding uh.Himahleh giloute gam akipan satkhiakin a om ding ua, huan lepchiah taka hihte huai akipan zungkalh khiakin a om ding uh.
22but the wicked shall be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful shall be plucked up out of it.
22Himahleh giloute gam akipan satkhiakin a om ding ua, huan lepchiah taka hihte huai akipan zungkalh khiakin a om ding uh.
