¹The words of Agur the son of Jakeh; the prophecy uttered by the man unto Ithiel, [even] unto Ithiel and Ucal:

¹Massa mi Jakeh tapa Agur thute: Huai miin Ithiel kiangah, Ithiel leh Ukal kiangah:

²Truly *I* am more stupid than any one; and I have not a man's intelligence.

²Chihtaktakin kuamah sangin ka hai jawa, mihing theihsiamna ka neikei:

³I have neither learned wisdom, nor have I the knowledge of the Holy.

³Pilna ka sin naikeia, Mi siangthou theihna leng ka neikei, a chi.

⁴Who hath ascended up into the heavens, and descended? Who hath gathered the wind in his fists? Who hath bound the waters in a mantle? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou knowest?

⁴Van ah kua a kahtoutain a hongkum suka? A khuttun sungah kuan huih a lakhawmtaa? a puansilhin kuan tuite a tuna? Lei tawpna tengteng kuan a hihkiptaa? a min banga hia. huan a tapa min bang ahia, na theih leh?

⁵Every word of +God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

⁵Pathian thu chiteng ettel ahi: amaha muangte adingin lum ahi.

⁶Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

⁶A thute ah behlap ken, a honsal dia, juautheia muhin na om kha ding hi.

⁷Two things do I ask of thee; deny me [them] not before I die:

⁷Thil nih ka hon ngen: ka sih main huaite honkitheihmoh-bawl ken:

⁸Remove far from me vanity and lies; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the bread of my daily need:

⁸Bangmahlou leh juau keia kipan gamlapi ah suan in: Gentheihna hiam hauhsaknate hiam hon pe ken: kei a kiphamoh anin hon vak in.

⁹lest I be full and deny [thee], and say, Who is Jehovah? or lest I be poor and steal, and outrage the name of my God.

⁹Huchilouinjaw ka khamin, nang kon kitheihmawhbawlin, TOUPA kua ahia? Ka chi kha ding hi. Ahihkeileh, ka gentheiin, ka guin, ka pathian min thanghuaitakin ka bawl kha ding hi.

¹⁰Speak not too much about a servant to his master, lest he curse thee, and thou be held guilty.

¹⁰A pu kiangah sikha gense ken, huchilouinjaw nang a honhamsiat dia, mohtansakin na om ding.

¹¹There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother;

¹¹A pa uh hamsiat suan khat a oma, a nu uh vualjawl lou.

¹²there is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, yet are not washed from their filthiness;

¹²Amau mittea siangthou suan khat a oma, ahi alah a nitna ua kipan silsiang louh ahi uh.

¹³there is a generation, -- how lofty are their eyes, how their eyelids are lifted up!

¹³Suan khat aoma, Aw a mitte uh sanghah hina e: huan a mitkhu vunte sansakin a om hi.

¹⁴-- a generation whose teeth are swords, and their jaw-teeth knives, to devour the afflicted from off the earth, and the needy from [among] men.

¹⁴A hate uh namsau bang, leh a hate uh temta bang suan khat a om uh, lei akipan migenthei leh, tasamte mite laka kipana nekbeina dingin.

¹⁵The leech hath two daughters: Give, give. There are three [things] never satisfied; four which say not, It is enough:

¹⁵Votin tanu nih a neia, honpia in, honpia in, chiin kikou ua. Thil thum lungkimsak theih ngeilouh a om uh, ahi, li, Hun e. chi lou:

¹⁶-- Sheol, and the barren womb; the earth which is not filled with water, and the fire which saith not, It is enough.

¹⁶Han; leh sul hut; lei tuia hihlungkima om lou; huan mei, hun e chi lou.

¹⁷The eye that mocketh at a father, and despiseth to obey a mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

¹⁷Mit a pa nuihsan leh, a nu thuman musit, guam vaakten a tawm ding ua, muvanlai nouten a ne ding uh.

¹⁸There are three [things] too wonderful for me, and four that I know not:

¹⁸Thil thum kei adingin lamdang lua a om ua, ahi, ka theih louh li:

¹⁹The way of an eagle in the heavens, the way of a serpent upon a rock, the way of a ship in the midst of the sea, and the way of a man with a maid.

¹⁹Huihkhuaa muvanlai lampi; suangpi tunga gulpi lampi; tuipi laka long lampi leh pasal nungak toh a lampi.

²⁰Such is the way of an adulterous woman: she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.

²⁰Huaimah bangin angkawmhat numei lampi ahi; a nea, zapiin a kamkaa, Gitlouhna ka hih kei, achi hi.

²¹Under three [things] the earth is disquieted, and under four it cannot bear up:

²¹Thil thum jiakin lei a linga, huan thil li a puak zohlouh jiakin;

²²Under a servant when he reigneth, and a churl when he is filled with meat;

²²Sikha kumpipa honghih lai leh mihai an kham lai;

²³under an odious [woman] when she is married, and a handmaid when she is heir to her mistress.

²³Numei huathuaitakin pasal a neiha, sikha nungakin a pi a luahin.

²⁴There are four [things] little upon the earth, and they are exceeding wise:

²⁴Lei tungah aneu thil li a om ua himahleh apil mahmah uh:

²⁵The ants, a people not strong, yet they provide their food in the summer;

²⁵Miksite hatlou mite ahi ua, himahleh nipi laiin a nek ding uh a sutuah ua;

²⁶the rock-badgers are but a feeble folk, yet they make their house in the cliff;

²⁶Kawlsajawte hatlou pawl tak ahi ua, himahleh suangpi hengte ah a in uh a bawl uhi:

²⁷the locusts have no king, yet they go forth all of them by bands;

²⁷Khaukhupten kumpipa a neikei ua, himahleh a honhonin a vekun kilemin a pai uh;

²⁸thou takest hold of the lizard with the hands, yet is she in kings' palaces.

²⁸Inhikte na khuta na tawi theih ahi ua; himahleh kumpipate inpite ah a teng uh.

²⁹There are three [things] which have a stately step, and four are comely in going:

²⁹A paichiang ua thupi thil thum a om ua, ahi, apai chiangua thupi, li:

³⁰The lion, mighty among beasts, which turneth not away for any;

³⁰Humpinelkai, gamsa laklaka hatpenpen, bangmah ma ah a kihei mang kei hi;

³¹a [horse] girt in the loins; or the he-goat; and a king, against whom none can rise up.

³¹Kidouna-sakol; keltal leng; huan kumpipa, a mite maa pai,

³²If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, [lay] the hand upon thy mouth.

³²Na kiletsaka haitaka na gamtat leh, ahihkeileh ngaihtuahna gilou na neih leh, na kam tungah na khut koih in,Nawitui peiin mokhon a omsaka, nak hekin sisan a suahkhe sak: huchimahbangin thangpaihna paisuakin kilaina a omsak hi.

³³For the pressing of milk bringeth forth butter, and the pressing of the nose bringeth forth blood; and the pressing of anger bringeth forth strife.

³³Nawitui peiin mokhon a omsaka, nak hekin sisan a suahkhe sak: huchimahbangin thangpaihna paisuakin kilaina a omsak hi.
