¹{To the chief Musician. Upon the Gittith. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.} How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Jehovah of hosts!

¹ ای خداوند متعال، چه دلپذیر است خانهٔ تو!

²My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of Jehovah; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living ùGod.

² چقدر دلم می‌خواهد که در آنجا باشم، و چقدر آرزو دارم که در صحن خانهٔ تو ساکن باشم و با تمام وجودم سرود شادمانی برای خدای زنده بسرایم.

³Yea, the sparrow hath found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she layeth her young, thine altars, O Jehovah of hosts, my King and my God.

³ حتّی گنجشکان در آنجا برای خود لانه‌ای و پرستوها آشیانه‌ای ساخته‌اند تا جوجه‌های خود را در پناه قربانگاه تو بگذارند، ای خدای متعال، ای پادشاه من و ای خداوند من.

⁴Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be constantly praising thee. Selah.

⁴ خوشا به حال کسانی‌که در خانهٔ تو ساکنند و همیشه سرود حمد و سپاس برای تو می‌خوانند.

⁵Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee, -- they, in whose heart are the highways.

⁵ خوشا به حال آنانی که از تو نیرو می‌یابند و آرزوی زیارت کوه صهیون را دارند.

⁶Passing through the valley of Baca, they make it a well-spring; yea, the early rain covereth it with blessings.

⁶ وقتی‌که از صحرای خشک بكاء گذر می‌کنند، آنجا را چشمه‌سار می‌سازند و بارانِ پاییزی آنجا را سیراب می‌سازد.

⁷They go from strength to strength: [each one] will appear before God in Zion.

⁷ هرقدر پیشتر می‌روند، زیادتر قوّت می‌گیرند و خدای خدایان را در صهیون زیارت می‌کنند.

⁸Jehovah, God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

⁸ ای خداوند و ای خدای متعال، دعای مرا اجابت کن. ای خدای یعقوب، به من گوش بده!

⁹Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.

⁹ خدایا، پادشاه ما را برکت بده، پادشاهی که خودت او را برگزیده‌ای.

¹⁰For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God, than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

¹⁰ یک روز در صحن خانهٔ تو بودن، بهتر است از هزار روز در جای دیگر بودن. دربانی خانه تو را بر زندگی در کاخ شریران ترجیح می‌دهم.

¹¹For Jehovah Elohim is a sun and shield: Jehovah will give grace and glory; no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

¹¹ زیرا خداوند، نور و پشتیبان ماست. ما را به لطف برکت خویش افتخار می‌بخشد. او هیچ چیز نیکو را از کسانی‌که به راه راست می‌روند دریغ نمی‌کند. ای خداوند متعال، خوشا به حال کسی‌که بر تو توکّل می‌کند.

¹²Jehovah of hosts, blessed is the man that confideth in thee!
