1And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
1Vtedy odpovedal Bildad Šuchský a riekol:
2How long wilt thou speak these things? and the words of thy mouth be a strong wind?
2Dokedy budeš hovoriť také veci, a dokedy budú slová tvojich úst ako víchor?
3Doth ùGod pervert judgment, and the Almighty pervert justice?
3Či azda silný Bôh prevráti súd, alebo či Všemohúci prevráti spravedlivosť?
4If thy children have sinned against him, he hath also given them over into the hand of their transgression.
4Ak zhrešili tvoji synovia proti nemu, nuž zahnal ich v ruke ich prestúpenia.
5If thou seek earnestly unto ùGod, and make thy supplication to the Almighty,
5Keby si ty naozaj hľadal silného Boha a pokorne volal ku Všemohúcemu,
6If thou be pure and upright, surely now he will awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous;
6keby si bol čistý a spravedlivý, doista by sa teraz zobudil za teba a pokojným by učinil príbytok tvojej spravedlivosti.
7And though thy beginning was small, yet thine end shall be very great.
7A keby tvoj počiatok bol býval malý a chatrný, tvoj koniec by vzrástol veľmi.
8For inquire, I pray thee, of the former generation, and attend to the researches of their fathers;
8Lebo nože sa spýtaj drievneho pokolenia a uváž, čo vyzkúmali ich otcovia. -
9For we are [but] of yesterday, and know nothing, for our days upon earth are a shadow.
9Lebo my sami sme jako od včera a nevieme ničoho, lebo naše dni sú na zemi jako tieň -
10Shall not they teach thee, [and] tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
10Či ťa azda oni nenaučia a nepovedia ti a nevynesú slov zo svojho srdca?
11Doth the papyrus shoot up without mire? doth the reed-grass grow without water?
11Či porastie trstina bez bahna? Či vyrastie rákos bez vody?
12Whilst it is yet in its greenness [and] not cut down, it withereth before any [other] grass.
12Ešte je vo svojom kvete, nevytrhli ho, a usychá prv než ktorákoľvek iná tráva.
13So are the paths of all that forget ùGod; and the profane man's hope shall perish,
13Také sú stezky všetkých tých, ktorí zabúdajú na silného Boha, a nádeja pokrytca zahynie,
14Whose confidence shall be cut off, and his reliance is a spider's web.
14ktorého dôvera sa odreže, a jeho nádej bude jako dom pavúka.
15He shall lean upon his house, and it shall not stand; he shall lay hold on it, but it shall not endure.
15Spoľahne sa na svoj dom, ale neobstojí; chytí sa ho, ale sa mu zvalí.
16He is full of sap before the sun, and his sprout shooteth forth over his garden;
16Má i vlahu pred slnkom, a jeho výhonok vyniká nad jeho zahradu;
17His roots are entwined about the stoneheap; he seeth the place of stones.
17na hŕbe skál sú pozapletané jeho korene, a hľadí po dome kamenia.
18If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him: I have not seen thee!
18Ale ak ho pohltia z jeho miesta, vtedy ho zaprie a povie: Nevidelo som ťa.
19Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the dust shall others grow.
19Hľa, to je radosť jeho cesty, a z prachu vyrastajú iní. -
20Behold, ùGod will not cast off a perfect man, neither will he take evil-doers by the hand.
20Hľa, silný Bôh nezavrhne bezúhonného ani neuchopí za ruku zlostníkov,
21Whilst he would fill thy mouth with laughing and thy lips with shouting,
21zatým však naplní tvoje ústa smiechom a tvoje rty radostným pokrikovaním.
22They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked be no more.
22Tí, ktorí ťa nenávidia, odejú sa hanbou, a stánu bezbožných ľudí nebude.
