¹Give ye thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; for his loving-kindness [endureth] for ever.

¹Oslavujte Hospodina, lebo je dobrý, lebo jeho milosť trvá na veky.

²Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the oppressor,

²Nech tak povedia vykúpení Hospodinovi, ktorý ich vykúpil z ruky protivníka.

³And gathered out of the countries, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.

³A shromaždil ich zo zemí, od východu a od západu, od polnoci aj od mora.

⁴They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way, they found no city of habitation;

⁴Blúdili po púšti, po pustej ceste, kde nenašli mesta na bývanie.

⁵Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them:

⁵Boli hladní i smädní; ich duša omdlievala v nich.

⁶Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he delivered them out of their distresses,

⁶A keď kričali vo svojom súžení na Hospodina, vytrhnul ich z ich úzkosti

⁷And he led them forth by a right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

⁷a viedol ich po rovnej ceste, aby išli do mesta na bývanie.

⁸Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

⁸Nech oslavujú Hospodina pre jeho milosť a pre jeho divy pred synmi človeka,

⁹For he hath satisfied the longing soul and filled the hungry soul with good.

⁹(lebo nasycuje práhnúcu dušu a hladovitú dušu naplňuje dobrým)

¹⁰Such as inhabit darkness and the shadow of death, bound in affliction and iron,

¹⁰tí, ktorí sedeli vo tme a v tôni smrti, spútaní biedou a železom,

¹¹Because they had rebelled against the words of ùGod, and had despised the counsel of the Most High; ...

¹¹pretože odporovali rečiam silného Boha a opovrhli radou Najvyššieho,

¹²And he bowed down their heart with labour; they stumbled, and there was none to help:

¹²a preto zohnul ich srdce trápením; klesli, a nebolo toho, kto by bol pomohol.

¹³Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he saved them out of their distresses;

¹³A keď volali na Hospodina vo svojom súžení, zachránil ich z ich úzkosti.

¹⁴He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder.

¹⁴Vyviedol ich zo tmy a z tône smrti a ich povrazy potrhal.

¹⁵Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

¹⁵Nech oslavujú Hospodina pre jeho milosť a pre jeho divy pred synmi človeka,

¹⁶For he hath broken the gates of bronze, and cut asunder the bars of iron.

¹⁶pretože polámal medené dvere a posekal železné závory.

¹⁷Fools, because of their way of transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted;

¹⁷Nesmyselní, trápili sa pre cestu svojho prestúpenia a pre svoje neprávosti!

¹⁸Their soul abhorreth all manner of food, and they draw near unto the gates of death:

¹⁸Ich duša si ošklivila každý pokrm, a priblížili sa až k bránam smrti.

¹⁹Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he saveth them out of their distresses;

¹⁹Ale keď kričali na Hospodina vo svojom súžení, zachránil ich z ich úzkostí.

²⁰He sendeth his word, and healeth them, and delivereth them from their destructions.

²⁰Znova a znova poslal svoje slovo a uzdravoval ich a vyslobodzoval z ich mnohej záhuby.

²¹Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men,

²¹Nech oslavujú Hospodina pre jeho milosť a pre jeho divy pred synmi človeka!

²²And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works in joyful song.

²²Nech obetujú obeti chvály a rozprávajú jeho skutky s plesaním.

²³They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters,

²³Tí, ktorí sa plavia po mori na lodiach, ktorí pracujú na veľkých vodách,

²⁴These see the works of Jehovah, and his wonders in the deep.

²⁴tí vidia skutky Hospodinove a jeho divy v hlbine.

²⁵For he speaketh, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof:

²⁵Lebo keď len povie, spôsobí to, že povstane búrlivý vietor, ktorý do vysoka dvíha jeho vlny.

²⁶They mount up to the heavens, they go down to the depths; their soul is melted because of trouble;

²⁶Hneď vystupujú akoby do neba, hneď zase sostupujú do priepasti; ich duša sa rozplýva v nebezpečenstve.

²⁷They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and they are at their wits' end:

²⁷Motajú a klátia sa jako opilý, a všetka ich múdrosť je tam!

²⁸Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses;

²⁸A keď kričia na Hospodina vo svojom súžení, vyvodí ich z ich úzkostí.

²⁹He maketh the storm a calm, and the waves thereof are still:

²⁹Zastavuje búrku a obracia ju na tíšinu, a umĺkajú ich vlny.

³⁰And they rejoice because they are quiet; and he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

³⁰Plavci sa radujú, že utíchly, a on ich vedie do prístavu ich želania.

³¹Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

³¹Nech oslavujú Hospodina pre jeho milosť a pre jeho divy pred synmi človeka.

³²Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the session of the elders.

³²Nech ho vyvyšujú v shromaždení ľudu, a nech ho chvália v zasadnutí starcov.

³³He maketh rivers into a wilderness, and water-springs into dry ground;

³³Obracia rieky na púšť a vodné pramene na vypráhlu sušinu,

³⁴A fruitful land into a plain of salt, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

³⁴úrodnú zem na slatinu pre zlosť obyvateľov, ktorí bývajú v nej.

³⁵He maketh the wilderness into a pool of water, and the dry land into water-springs;

³⁵Obracia púšť na jazero vody a vypráhlu zem na pramene vôd.

³⁶And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation;

³⁶Osadzuje tam hladných, a postavia si tam mesto na bývanie.

³⁷And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase;

³⁷A posievajú polia, sadia vinice a nadobúdajú plodu úrody.

³⁸And he blesseth them, so that they are multiplied greatly; and he suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

³⁸Žehná im, a množia sa veľmi, a ich dobytka neumenšuje.

³⁹And they are diminished and brought low, through oppression, adversity, and sorrow:

³⁹A zase, keď chce, ubúda ich a bývajú snížení od sovrenia, všelijakého strádania a od žiaľu.

⁴⁰He poureth contempt upon nobles, and causeth them to wander in a pathless waste;

⁴⁰Vylieva opovrženie na kniežatá a dáva, aby blúdili po pustine, kde nieto cesty.

⁴¹But he secureth the needy one on high from affliction, and maketh [him] families like flocks.

⁴¹Povyšuje chudobného z trápenia a rozmnožuje rodiny jako stádo oviec.

⁴²The upright shall see it, and rejoice; and all unrighteousness shall stop its mouth.

⁴²Uvidia to úprimní a budú sa radovať, ale každá neprávosť zapchá svoje ústa.

⁴³Whoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them understand the loving-kindnesses of Jehovah.

⁴³Kto je múdry, bude to ostríhať, a takí porozumejú rôznej milosti Hospodinovej.
