¹The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the housetops?

¹ Bangandiyaŋ gooro boŋ sanni neeya: Ifo ka du nin sohõ kaŋ araŋ jama kulu kaaru cinarey boŋ?

²Thou that wast full of stir, a town of tumult, a joyous city: thy slain men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.

² Ya nin, gallu kusuumakoy kaŋ to da kosongu, Nin, faada kaŋ ga farhã, Ni borey kaŋ i wi kulu, manti takuba no k'i wi, Manti mo wongu ra no i bu bo.

³All thy rulers have fled together, they are taken prisoners without the bow: all that are found of thee are made prisoners together; they were fleeing far off.

³ Ni mayraykoyey kulu, care banda no i zuru, Tongo koyey no k'i haw. Ni borey kulu kaŋ i di, i n'i haw care gaa, Baa kaŋ i zuru ka koy nangu mooro.

⁴Therefore said I, Look away from me; let me weep bitterly: labour not to comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people.

⁴ Woodin sabbay se no ay ne: «Ma ni mo kaa ay do haray. Naŋ ay ma hẽeni korno te. Ma si kookari ka ne ni g'ay suurandi ay jama ize wayo halaciyaŋo sabbay se.»

⁵For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity, from the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, in the valley of vision; [a day of] breaking down the wall, and of crying to the mountain:

⁶-- Elam beareth the quiver with chariots of men [and] horsemen; and Kir uncovereth the shield.

⁶ Elam go ga tonga jare, A gonda wongu torkoyaŋ da boroyaŋ da bari-kariyaŋ. Cir mo na koray feeri.

⁷And it shall come to pass [that] thy choicest valleys shall be full of chariots, and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.

⁷ A ciya mo ni gooru suubanantey to da wongu torkoyaŋ, Bari-karey mo na daaga sinji birni meyo gaa.

⁸And he uncovereth the covering of Judah: and thou didst look in that day to the armour in the house of the forest;

⁸ Rabbi na Yahuda kosara kaa a gaa. Ni mo, han din hane ni naanay wongu jinay gaa, Kaŋ yaŋ go tuuri zugay faada ra.

⁹and ye have seen the breaches of the city of David, that they are many; and ye have gathered together the waters of the lower pool;

⁹ Araŋ di kaŋ Dawda gallo kortimey ga baa gumo. Araŋ na ganda bango haro margu-margu nangu folloŋ.

¹⁰and ye have numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and have broken down the houses to fortify the wall;

¹⁰ Araŋ na Urusalima windey kabu, Araŋ na windi fooyaŋ zeeri ka birni cinaro gaabandi nd'ey.

¹¹and ye have made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool: but ye have not had regard unto the maker thereof, neither have ye looked unto him that fashioned it long ago.

¹²And in that day did the Lord Jehovah of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth;

¹² Woodin sabbay se no, Han din Rabbi Kundeykoyo ga ce ka ne araŋ ma hẽ ka bu baray te, k'araŋ boŋey cabu, Ka bufu zaara haw cante gaa.

¹³and behold joy and rejoicing, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: -- Let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we die.

¹³ A binde araŋ go ga farhã da bine kaani gumo, Da haw da feeji wiyaŋ, da ham ŋwaari da duvan* haŋyaŋ. Araŋ go ga ne: «Iri ma ŋwa, iri ma haŋ, Zama suba no iri ga bu.»

¹⁴And it was revealed in mine ears by Jehovah of hosts: Assuredly this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.

¹⁴ Amma Rabbi Kundeykoyo na woone bangandi ay se ay hangey ra. A ne: Daahir ay si taalo din yaafa araŋ se kala araŋ ma bu. Yaadin no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci.

¹⁵Thus saith the Lord Jehovah of hosts: Go, get thee in unto this steward, unto Shebna, who is over the house, [and say,]

¹⁵ Yaa no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci: Ma koy bora kaŋ ga bonkoono arzaka jisiyaŋ windo dabari do, Kaŋ ga ti Sebna. Ma ne a se:

¹⁶What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewn thee out a sepulchre here, [as] he that heweth out his sepulchre on high, cutting out in the rock a habitation for himself?

¹⁶ «Ifo no ni se neewo? May no ni se mo nango, Kaŋ se ni na saaray jabu ni boŋ se nango wo ra?» (A go ga fijiyaŋ do jabu nga boŋ se tondo boŋ, A goono ga nangoray jabu nga boŋ se tondi ra.)

¹⁷Behold, Jehovah will hurl thee with the force of a mighty man, and will cover thee entirely.

¹⁷ A go, Rabbi ga ba ka ni jindaw da gaabi, Nin boro gaabikoono. Oho, a ga ni di diyaŋ hanno.

¹⁸Rolling thee up completely, he will roll thee as a ball into a wide country: there shalt thou die, and there shall be the chariots of thy glory, O shame of thy lord's house!

¹⁸ A ga ni windi-windi sanda taawa cine ka ni catu kala ni ma koy laabu fo kaŋ ga tafay ra. Noodin no ni ga bu, Noodin mo no ni torko darzantey go, Ya nin, ni jine bora windo haawi haro!

¹⁹And I will drive thee from thine office, and from thy station will I pull thee down.

¹⁹ Ay ga ni gaaray ka ni kaa ni goyo ra, Ay ga ni dagu ka kaa ni nango ra mo.

²⁰And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkijah;

²⁰ A ga ciya mo, han din hane ay g'ay tamo Eliyacim Hilciya ize ce.

²¹and I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand; and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.

²¹ Ay ga ni kwaayo daŋ Eliyacim gaa ka ni guddama korfa haw a gaa. A kambe ra mo no ay ga ni mayra daŋ. A ga ciya baaba Urusalima gorokoy da Yahuda dumo mo se.

²²And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; and he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

²² Dawda windo daabuyaŋ haro mo, ay g'a daŋ a kambe ra. D'a n'a feeri, boro kulu s'a daabu. D'a n'a daabu mo, boro kulu s'a feeri.

²³And I will fasten him [as] a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a throne of glory to his father's house:

²³ Ay g'a sinji sanda sarfa cine nangu tabbatante ra, a ga ciya karga darzante mo nga baabo dumo se.

²⁴and they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all the small vessels, as well the vessels of cups as all the vessels of flagons.

²⁴ A baabo dumo darza kulu ga sarku a gaa, izey nda ngey banda. Hari jinay kulu, za haŋ gaasiyey gaa kal a ma koy gullayzey kulu gaa, ngey mo ga sarku a gaa.

²⁵In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened in a sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for Jehovah hath spoken.
