1And Job answered and said,
1 Ayuba tu ka ne:
2Hear attentively my speech, and let this replace your consolations.
2 «Wa hanga jeeri nda himma ka maa ay sanno, Woone mo ma ciya araŋ suurandiyaŋ hari.
3Suffer me and I will speak; and after I have spoken, mock on!
3 Wa naŋ, ay mo ma salaŋ. D'ay salaŋ ka ban, Gaa araŋ mo ma soobay ka araŋ hahaaray sanney te.
4As for me, is my complaint to a man? or wherefore should not my spirit be impatient?
4 Ay wo, ay kalima ga margu nda boro no? Ifo no g'ay ganji ya suuru-jaŋay te binde?
5Mark me, and be astonished, and lay the hand upon the mouth.
5 W'ay guna ka soobay ka dambara! Wa araŋ kambey daŋ mo ka araŋ meyey daabu.
6Even when I think [thereon], I am affrighted, and trembling taketh hold of my flesh.
6 Baa waati kaŋ ay ga fongu, kala ya kankam, Ay gaahamo kulu ma gasi.
7Wherefore do the wicked live, grow old, yea, become mighty in power?
7 Ifo se no boro laaley ga gay da fundi, I ma zeen, oho, i ma beeri mo da hin?
8Their seed is established with them in their sight, and their offspring before their eyes.
8 I ga di ngey banda go ga sinji ngey nangey ra. I moy ga di ngey gunda izey.
9Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of +God upon them.
9 I nangorayey go baani samay, Humburkumay kulu si no, Irikoy goobo mo s'i kar.
10Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
10 I yeejey ga gunde daŋ, i si fappe, I haw wayey ga hay, i si te gunde hasaraw,
11They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
11 I ga ngey ize kayney donton, sanda kuru no, I izey go ga sar ka zimbi.
12They shout to the tambour and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the pipe.
12 I goono ga doon ka goojey da moolo beeri yaŋ kar, I ga farhã waati kaŋ i ga maa seese jinde,
13They spend their days in prosperity, and in a moment go down to Sheol.
13 I goono ga ngey goray te nda arzaka. Amma sahãadin-sahãadin i ga gunguray ka koy Alaahara.
14And they say unto ùGod, Depart from us, for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways!
14 Ngey binde no ga ne Irikoy se: ‹Fay da iri, Zama iri si ba iri ma ni muraadey bay.
15What is the Almighty that we should serve him? and what are we profited if we pray unto him?
15 May no ga ti Hina-Kulu-Koyo hala iri ma may a se? Nafa woofo no iri ga du d'iri na adduwa te a gaa?›
16Behold, their prosperity is not in their hand. The counsel of the wicked be far from me!
16 Guna, i arzakey, manti i kambey ra no a go bo! Borey laaley saawara din ga mooru ay.
17How often is the lamp of the wicked put out, and cometh their calamity upon them? Doth he distribute sorrows [to them] in his anger?
17 Sorro marge no boro laaley fitilley bu? Sorro marge no masiiba ga kaŋ i boŋ? Sorro marge mo no Irikoy ga bine saray zaban i se nga futa ra?
18Do they become as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away?
18 Sorro marge mo no i ga ciya sanda bari subu kaŋ go haw jine? Wala danga du kaŋ hari haw bambata goono ga hamay ka kond'a?
19+God layeth up [the punishment of] his iniquity for his children; he rewardeth him, and he shall know [it]:
19 Araŋ wo go ga ne: ‹Irikoy ga boro laala alhakko jisi a izey se.› Dambe day a ma bana boro laalo bumbo gaa, Zama a ma du ka bay!
20His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the fury of the Almighty.
20 Naŋ nga bumbo moy ma di nga halaciyaŋo, Nga bumbo din mo ma Hina-Kulu-Koyo futa haŋ.
21For what pleasure should he have in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off?
21 Zama a saalay go nga windo gaa a buuyaŋo banda, wala, Waati kaŋ a handey lasaabuyaŋo gaze?
22Can any teach ùGod knowledge? And he it is that judgeth those that are high.
22 Boro kaŋ ga Irikoy dondonandi bayray, a go no, wala? Za kaŋ Irikoy ga beena ra waney ciiti.
23One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet;
23 Boro fo ga bu nga gaabo bindi ra, A fundo go fulanzamay ra, fitina si,
24His sides are full of fat, and the marrow of his bones is moistened;
24 A gaasey ga to da wa, A biriyey londi mo igani no.
25And another dieth in bitterness of soul, and hath not tasted good:
25 Afo mo ga bu nga fundo gurzuga ra, A mana kaani taba baa ce fo.
26Together they lie down in the dust, and the worms cover them.
26 I kulu afolloŋ no, ganda laabo ra no i ga kani, Nooni no g'i daabu.
27Lo, I know your thoughts, and the devices ye wrongfully imagine against me.
27 Guna, ay na araŋ fonguyaŋey bay, Da me-hawyaŋey kaŋ araŋ goono ga te ay boŋ, Miila laalo waney.
28For ye say, Where is the house of the noble? and where the tent of the dwellings of the wicked?
28 Zama araŋ go ga ne: ‹Man mayraykoyo windo? Man windo din kaŋ ra boro laaley goro waato?›
29Have ye not asked the wayfarers? and do ye not regard their tokens:
29 Araŋ mana dirakoy hã bo? Araŋ mana i seedey bay no,
30That the wicked is reserved for the day of calamity? They are led forth to the day of wrath.
30 Kaŋ i ga boro laalo fay waani masiiba zaari ra? I g'i kaa kambe mo futay zaari ra no?
31Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?
31 May no g'a daa cabe a se taray kwaaray? Wala may no g'a goyo alhakko bana a se?
32Yet is he carried to the graves, and watch is kept over the tomb.
32 Kulu nda yaadin, borey g'a sambu ka kond'a saaray do. I ga haggoy d'a saara mo hal a ma boori.
33The clods of the valley are sweet unto him; and every man followeth suit after him, as there were innumerable before him.
33 Gooru gu-guwey ga kaan a se, Borey kulu mo ga gana a banda, Sanda ngey kaŋ yaŋ jin, i bisa haŋ kaŋ ga lasaabu.
34How then comfort ye me in vain? Your answers remain perfidious.
34 Ifo se no binde araŋ goono g'araŋ kunfayaŋ yaamo wo te ay se, Za kaŋ sanney kaŋ araŋ goono ga kande yaŋ, I ra hay kulu mana cindi kala tangari?»
