1And Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
1 Kala Elifaz Teman bora tu ka ne:
2If a word were essayed to thee, wouldest thou be grieved? But who can refrain from speaking?
2 «D'i ceeci i ma salaŋ da nin, ni si dukur, wala? Day may no ga hin ka dangay?
3Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands;
3 A go, nin wo, ni na boro boobo yaamar, Ni na kambe londi-buunay-koyey gaabandi.
4Thy words have upholden him that was stumbling, and thou hast braced up the bending knees:
4 Ni sanney doona ka borey kaŋ ga ba ka kaŋ kayandi, Borey kaŋ yaŋ kangey londi bu, ni n'i gaabandi.
5But now it is come upon thee, and thou grievest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.
5 Amma sohõ kaŋ a kaa ni gaa, ni gaze, wala? Kaŋ a lamba ni gaa, ni laakalo tun, wala?
6Hath not thy piety been thy confidence, and the perfection of thy ways thy hope?
6 Ni Irikoy cimandiyaŋo mana wasa ni se deyaŋ, bo? Ni fundo adilitara mo mana wasa ni se beeje hari, bo?
7Remember, I pray thee, who that was innocent has perished? and where were the upright cut off?
7 Ma fongu day, ay ga ni hã, Boro kaŋ sinda taali doona ka halaci, wala? Wala man no i na adilante pati ce fo?
8Even as I have seen, they that plough iniquity and sow mischief, reap the same.
8 Ay diyaŋ gaa, borey kaŋ yaŋ ga laala fansi ka fari soola, Da borey kaŋ yaŋ ga taabi duma, I ga haŋ kaŋ i duma din wi heemar.
9By the breath of +God they perish, and by the blast of his nostrils are they consumed.
9 Irikoy funsaro no g'i halaci, A futay dunga no g'i ŋwa.
10The roar of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken;
10 Muusu beeri ga dundu, Muusu izey mo ga follay jinde tunandi, Amma muusu daŋ kaso hinjey no ga ceeri.
11The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the whelps of the lioness are scattered.
11 Muusu beeri futo ga bu ham jaŋay se, Muusu way izey mo ga say-say.
12Now to me a word was secretly brought, and mine ear received a whisper thereof.
12 Han fo i na sanni fo ciinay te ay se. Ay hanga maa ciina din.
13In thoughts from visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men: --
13 Cin hindiri fonguyaŋ ra no, Saaya kaŋ cine jirbi tiŋo ga boro di.
14Fear came on me, and trembling, and made all my bones to shake;
14 Kala humburkumay da gaaham jijiriyaŋ n'ay di, A n'ay gaa biriyey kulu jijirandi mo.
15And a spirit passed before my face -- the hair of my flesh stood up --
15 Kala biya fo gaaru ka bisa ay jine. Ay gaa-haabiya kulu kay.
16It stood still; I could not discern the appearance thereof: a form was before mine eyes; I heard a slight murmur and a voice:
16 Haya din binde ye ka kay, Amma ay mana hin k'a himando fayanka. Himandi fo go ga kay ay jine. Sum! Kal ay maa jinde kaŋ ne:
17Shall [mortal] man be more just than +God? Shall a man be purer than his Maker?
17 ‹Boro kaŋ ga bu, A adilitara ga bisa Irikoy wane no? Boro beeri ga ciya hanante ka bisa nga Takakwa, wala?
18Lo, he trusteth not his servants, and his angels he chargeth with folly:
18 Guna, a mana nga tamey te deyaŋ hari, A malaykey mo, a na taali dake i boŋ,
19How much more them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed as the moth!
19 Sanku fa binde woone yaŋ kaŋ goono ga goro laabu fuyaŋ ra, Borey kaŋ yaŋ i ganda sinjiyaŋ si kala laabu bulungu ra, Ngey kaŋ yaŋ i g'i mutukuru danga naana-baano cine.
20From morning to evening are they smitten: without any heeding it, they perish for ever.
20 Susuba nda wiciri kambu game ra no i g'i bagu-bagu, I ga halaci hal abada, boro kulu si saal.
21Is not their tent-cord torn away in them? they die, and without wisdom.
21 I n'i fundi korfa pati, I ga bu laakal-jaŋay ra mo.›
