1And it came to pass when Sanballat, and Tobijah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had built the wall, and that there was no breach left in it (though at that time I had not set up the doors in the gates),
1 Waato kaŋ i konda baaru Sanballat da Tobiya nda Laarabo Gesem, d'iri ibare cindey kulu se, ka ne ay na birni cinaro te hala kortimi kulu mana cindi (amma hala hõ ay mana jin ka me daabuyaŋ bundey sinji meyey gaa jina,)
2that Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, Come, let us meet together in the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief.
2 kala Sanballat da Gesem donton ay gaa ka ne: «Kaa, iri ma care kubay Ono gooro kawyey fo ra.» (Amma ngey wo, i ga ne hala ngey ga hasaraw fo te ay se no.)
3And I sent messengers to them, saying, I am doing a great work, and I cannot come down. Why should the work cease, whilst I leave it and come down to you?
3 Ay mo na diyayaŋ donton i gaa ka ne: «Ay goono ga goy fo te kaŋ ga beeri, kaŋ ga naŋ ay si du ka kaa. Ifo se no i ga goyo naŋ hal ay ma fay d'a ka zulli ka kaa araŋ do?»
4And they sent to me four times after this sort; and I answered them in the same manner.
4 I donton ay gaa hala sorro taaci da ceeyaŋ wo dumi. Ay mo, yaadin no ay ga tu d'a i se, sanda waato wano cine.
5Then sent Sanballat his servant to me in this manner the fifth time, with an open letter in his hand,
5 Saaya din Sanballat ye ka donton ay gaa hala sorro guwanta, kaŋ a ga nga zanka donton nda tira feerante nga kambe ra.
6in which was written: It is reported among the nations, and Gashmu says [it, that] thou and the Jews think to rebel, for which cause thou buildest the wall, and according to these words thou wilt become their king.
6 A ra binde i hantum ya-cine ka ne: «I goono ga ci dumi cindey ra, Gesem mo no goono ga ci ka ne, way, kaŋ nin da Yahudancey, araŋ gonda murteyaŋ miila. Woodin se no ni goono ga birni windanta cinaro cina. Ni ga ba ni ma ciya i bonkooni, sanney din boŋ.
7And thou hast also appointed prophets to proclaim concerning thee at Jerusalem saying, There is a king in Judah! And now it will be reported to the king according to these words. Come now therefore, and let us take counsel together.
7 Woodin banda, ni na annabiyaŋ daŋ Urusalima ra, ka ne i ma annabitaray te ka ne: ‹Bonkooni go no Yahuda ra.› Sohõ binde, i ga seeda bonkoono se sanni woodin yaŋ boŋ. Ni binde, ni ma kaa sohõ, iri ma saaware.»
8And I sent to him, saying, There are no such things done as thou sayest, but thou feignest them out of thine own heart.
8 Gaa no ay donton i gaa ka ne: «Hay kulu kaŋ ni ci, i mana a dumi te, amma ni bina ra no ni n'i dagu ka kaa taray.»
9For they all would have made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be slackened from the work, that it be not carried out. -- Now therefore strengthen my hands!
9 Zama i kulu miila ga ti ngey m'iri humburandi. I si ne kal iri kambey ga yay goyo ra, hala iri ma si hin k'a te. Amma sohõ, ya Irikoy, m'ay kambey gaabandi!
10And I came to the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah, the son of Mehetabeel, who had shut himself up. And he said, Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us shut the doors of the temple; for they are coming to kill thee; even in the night are they coming to kill thee.
10 Koyne, ay koy Semaya Delaya izo Mehetabel ize kwaara, boro fo kaŋ go daabante. Nga mo ne: «Naŋ iri ma care kubay Irikoy windo ra, sududuyaŋ fuwo ra. Iri ma fuwo meyey daabu, zama i ga kaa ka ni wi. Oho, cin no i ga kaa ka ni wi!»
11And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, could go into the temple, and live? I will not go in.
11 Amma ay ne a se: «Boro sanda ay cine no ga zuru, wala? May no koyne, ay wo dumi, kaŋ ga hin ka furo sududuyaŋ fuwo ra, a ma funa mo? Ay wo si furo bo!»
12And I perceived, and behold, God had not sent him; for he pronounced this prophecy against me; and Tobijah and Sanballat had hired him.
12 Ay du ka faham mo kaŋ a go, manti Irikoy no k'a donton, amma a na annabitaray woodin ci no ka gaaba nd'ay. Tobiyayaŋ da Sanballat mo, ngey no k'a sufuray.
13Therefore was he hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and that they might have wherewith to spread an evil report, that they might reproach me.
13 I n'a sufuray no zama a m'ay humburandi se, ay ma woodin te ka zunubi te se, ngey mo ma du fondo kaŋ g'ay wow, zama ngey ma janceyaŋ candi ka kande iri gaa mo.
14My God, remember Tobijah and Sanballat according to these their works, and also the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets who would have put me in fear.
14 Ya ay Irikoyo, ma fongu Tobiya nda Sanballat gaa i goyey wo boŋ, da wayboro annabo* mo, Nowadiya, da annabi cindey kaŋ yaŋ ga ba ngey m'ay humburandi.
15So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth of Elul, in fifty-two days.
15 Yaadin no i na birno windanta cinaro ban d'a Elul hando ra, a jirbi waranka cindi guwanta ra, sanda jirbi waygu cindi hinka nooya.
16And it came to pass that when all our enemies heard [of it], all the nations that were about us were afraid and were much cast down in their own eyes, and they perceived that this work was wrought by our God.
16 A ciya mo, waato kaŋ iri ibarey kulu maa baaro, kala dumi cindey kulu kaŋ yaŋ goono g'iri windi humburu, i biney pati mo ka donda ngey boŋ zama i bay kaŋ goy woodin, iri Irikoyo dabari no.
17Moreover in those days the nobles of Judah sent many letters to Tobijah, and those of Tobijah came to them.
17 Jirbey din ra mo Yahuda laabukoyey soobay ka tira boobo hantum Tobiya se. Tobiya mo tirey goono ga koy i do.
18For there were many in Judah sworn to him; for he was a son-in-law of Shechaniah the son of Arah; and his son Johanan had taken the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berechiah.
18 Zama boro boobo go Yahuda ra kaŋ yaŋ gonda zeyaŋ nga nd'ey game ra, zama Sekaniya Ara izo anzuray no. A ize Yehohanan no ka Mesullam Bereciya izo ize way hiiji.
19Also they spoke of his good deeds before me, and reported my words to him. [And] Tobijah sent letters to put me in fear.
19 Hala mo i g'a goy hanney ci ay jine, i g'ay sanney mo ci a se. Tobiya mo ga tirayaŋ samba zama i m'ay humburandi se.
