1Whoso loveth discipline loveth knowledge, but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
1 Boro kaŋ ga ba goojiyaŋ ya bayray baako no, Amma boro kaŋ wangu kaseetiyaŋ, alman daa no a se.
2A good [man] obtaineth favour of Jehovah; but a man of mischievous devices will he condemn.
2 Boro hanno ga du gaakuri Rabbi do, Amma a ga dabari-laalo-koy zeeri.
3A man shall not be established by wickedness; but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
3 I si boro sinji laala boŋ bo, Amma i si adilante tiksa hibandi.
4A woman of worth is a crown to her husband; but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
4 Wayboro bine-hanante-koy ya darza fuula no nga kurnye se, Amma haawi teeko wo ga hima biri ra fumbi.
5The thoughts of the righteous are right; the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
5 Adilantey fonguyaŋey ya cimikoyyaŋ no, Amma boro laaley saawarey ga ti gulinci.
6The words of the wicked are a lying-in-wait for blood; but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
6 Boro laaley sanney ya gumandi no boro wiyaŋ se, Amma adilantey me g'i faaba.
7Overthrow the wicked, and they are no [more]; but the house of the righteous shall stand.
7 I ga boro laaley bare ka gum hala i ma si no, Amma adilantey dumo ga sinji.
8A man is commended according to his wisdom; but he that is of a perverted heart shall be despised.
8 Boro ga du sifayaŋ nga laakal goyo boŋ, Amma i ga donda boro kaŋ laakal ga siiri.
9Better is he that is lightly esteemed, and hath a servant, than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.
9 Boro kaŋ i man'a ye hay fo hanno no, Day a gonda bannya, A bisa boro kaŋ ga nga boŋ beerandi, A sinda baa ŋwaari mo.
10A righteous man is concerned for the life of his beast; but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
10 Adilante ga laakal nda nga almano fundi, Amma boro laalo suujo ya bine-biibay no.
11He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread; but he that followeth the worthless is void of understanding.
11 Boro kaŋ na nga fari far ga kungu nda ŋwaari, Amma boro kaŋ na boro yaamey gana, a koy sinda boŋ.
12The wicked desireth the net of evil [men]; but the root of the righteous yieldeth [fruit].
12 Boro laalo ga yalla nda laala hirrimi ham, Amma adilante tiksa ga nafa no.
13In the transgression of the lips is an evil snare; but a righteous [man] shall go forth out of trouble.

14A man is satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth; and the recompense of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.
14 Boro ga kungu nda gomni nga me nafayaŋo do, I ga boro bana mo nda nga kambe goyey.
15The way of a fool is right in his own eyes; but he that is wise hearkeneth unto counsel.
15 Saamo diyaŋo gaa, nga fonda ga saba no, Amma laakalkooni ga hangan saaware se.
16The vexation of the fool is presently known; but a prudent [man] covereth shame.
16 Saamo futa ga bangay sahãadin, Amma laakalkooni ga haawi daabu.
17He that uttereth truth sheweth forth righteousness; but a false witness deceit.
17 Boro kaŋ na cimi ci, adilitaray no a ga bangandi, Amma tangari seedakoy, kala gulinci.
18There is that babbleth like the piercings of a sword; but the tongue of the wise is health.
18 Boro go no kaŋ ga salaŋ nda cahãyaŋ danga takuba gooruyaŋ cine, Amma laakalkooni deene ya baani no.
19The lip of truth shall be established for ever; but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
19 Me kaŋ ga cimi ci ga tabbat hal abada, Amma deena kaŋ ga tangari te ga ban fap! folloŋ.
20Deceit is in the heart of them that devise evil; but to the counsellors of peace is joy.

24The hand of the diligent shall bear rule; but the slothful [hand] shall be under tribute.
24 Kookarantey kambey ga te mayray, Amma i ga tilas goy dake hawfuney boŋ.
25Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop; but a good word maketh it glad.

27The slothful roasteth not what he took in hunting; but man's precious substance is to the diligent.
27 Hawfuno si nga koli ham fooru bo, Amma himmante duure ya darza hari no.
28In the path of righteousness is life, and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
