1{A Song of degrees. Of Solomon.} Unless Jehovah build the house, in vain do its builders labour in it; unless Jehovah keep the city, the keeper watcheth in vain:
1 Zijiyaŋ dooni no. Suleymanu wane no. Da manti Rabbi no ka windo cina, Kulu cinakoy goono ga taabi no yaamo. Da manti Rabbi no ka gallo batu, Batuko jirbi jaŋa mo yaamo no.
2It is vain for you to rise up early, to lie down late, to eat the bread of sorrows: so to his beloved one he giveth sleep.
2 Yaamo no araŋ se, araŋ ma tun za da hinay, Araŋ ma te cin mo hala araŋ ma fulanzam, Araŋ ma taabi ŋwaari ŋwa. Zama Rabbi ga nga baakoy no jirbi.
3Lo, children are an inheritance from Jehovah, [and] the fruit of the womb a reward.
3 A go, izeyaŋ ya tubu no kaŋ ga fun Rabbi do, Gunde izey mo a alhakku no.
4As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth.
4 Sanda hangawyaŋ kaŋ go boro gaabikooni kambe ra, Yaadin cine no zankataray izey bara nd'a.
5Happy is the man that hath filled his quiver with them. They shall not be ashamed when they speak with enemies in the gate.
5 Albarkante no bora kaŋ a tonga ga to d'ey. Haawi s'i di waati kaŋ i ga kakaw da ibarey faada meyey ra.
