¹{[A Psalm] of David.} Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

²When evil-doers, mine adversaries and mine enemies, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

³If a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; if war rise against me, in this will I be confident.

³ Baa wongu marga ga gata sinji ay se, ay bina si humburu. Baa wongu ga tun ay se, Kulu nda yaadin ay gonda bine-gaabi.

⁴One [thing] have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of Jehovah, and to inquire [of him] in his temple.

⁴ Hari folloŋ no ay ŋwaaray Rabbi gaa, Nga no ay ga ceeci, ga ti: Ya goro day Rabbi windo ra ay fundo jirbey kulu me, Zama ay ma Rabbi booriyaŋo guna, Ay ma soobay ka miila a marga windo ra.

⁵For in the day of evil he will hide me in his pavilion; in the secret of his tent will he keep me concealed: he will set me high upon a rock.

⁶And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me; and I will offer in his tent sacrifices of shouts of joy: I will sing, yea, I will sing psalms unto Jehovah.

⁶ Sohõ mo a g'ay beerandi ay ibarey kaŋ yaŋ goono g'ay windi boŋ. Ay mo ga farhã sargay no a hukumo ra da cililiyaŋ. Ay ga baytu, oho, ay ga sifayaŋ baytu te Rabbi se.

⁷Hear, Jehovah; with my voice do I call; be gracious unto me, and answer me.

⁷ Ya Rabbi, ma maa ay se waati kaŋ ay goono ga ce d'ay jinda. Ma gomni goy te ay se ka tu ay se.

⁸My heart said for thee, Seek ye my face. Thy face, O Jehovah, will I seek.

⁸ Saaya kaŋ cine ni ne: «M'ay moyduma ceeci,» Kal ay bina ne ni se: «Ya Rabbi, ni moyduma no ay ga ceeci.»

⁹Hide not thy face from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

⁹ Ma si ni moyduma tugu ay se, Ma si ni tamo gaaray futay ra, Za kaŋ nin no ga ti ay gaako. Ya Irikoy, ay faaba wano, Ma si dira k'ay naŋ! Ma s'ay furu!

¹⁰For had my father and my mother forsaken me, then had Jehovah taken me up.

¹⁰ Baa ay baabo d'ay nyaŋo n'ay furu, Kulu nda yaadin, Rabbi g'ay sambu.

¹¹Teach me thy way, Jehovah, and lead me in an even path, because of mine enemies.

¹¹ Ya Rabbi, m'ay dondonandi ni fonda, M'ay candi mo fonda kaŋ go banda fo ra ay ibarey sabbay se.

¹²Deliver me not over to the will of mine adversaries; for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out violence.

¹² Ma s'ay daŋ ay yanjekaarey kambe ra hal i ma ngey miila te ay boŋ, Zama tangari seedayaŋ tun zama ngey ma gaaba nd'ay, Ngey da wo kaŋ yaŋ ga toonye funsu.

¹³Unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah in the land of the living ...!

¹³ Da manti ay cimandi kaŋ ay ga di Rabbi gomno fundikooney laabo ra, doŋ ay kasam.

¹⁴Wait for Jehovah; be strong and let thy heart take courage: yea, wait for Jehovah.
