¹Psalmo de Asaf. Jes, bona estas Dio por Izrael, Por tiuj, kiuj havas puran koron.

¹A Psalm of Asaph. Only — good to Israel [is] God, to the clean of heart. And I — as a little thing, My feet have been turned aside,

²Sed mi-apenaux ne falsxanceligxis miaj piedoj, Preskaux elglitis miaj pasxoj.

²As nothing, have my steps slipped, For I have been envious of the boastful,

³CXar mi cxagrenigxis pro la fanfaronuloj, Vidante la bonstaton de la malvirtuloj.

³The peace of the wicked I see, That there are no bands at their death,

⁴CXar ili ne havas suferojn de morto, Kaj iliaj fortoj estas fortikaj.

⁴And their might [is] firm.

⁵Ili ne partoprenas en la zorgoj de homoj, Kaj ili ne suferas kun aliaj homoj.

⁵In the misery of mortals they are not, And with common men they are not plagued.

⁶Tial ilian kolon cxirkauxvolvis fiereco, Kaj perforteco ilin vestas kiel ornamo.

⁶Therefore hath pride encircled them, Violence covereth them as a dress.

⁷Pro graso elmetigxis iliaj okuloj, Superbordigxis en ilia koro la intencoj.

⁷Their eye hath come out from fat. The imaginations of the heart transgressed;

⁸Ili mokas, ili parolas malbonintence pri premado; Ili parolas de alte.

⁸They do corruptly, And they speak in the wickedness of oppression, From on high they speak.

⁹Kontraux la cxielon ili levas sian busxon, Kaj ilia lango promenas sur la tero.

⁹They have set in the heavens their mouth, And their tongue walketh in the earth.

¹⁰Tial tien ankaux iras Lia popolo, Kaj ili akvon cxerpas abunde.

¹⁰Therefore do His people return hither, And waters of fulness are wrung out to them.

¹¹Kaj ili diras:Kiel Dio scias? Kaj cxu la Plejaltulo komprenas?

¹¹And they have said, `How hath God known? And is there knowledge in the Most High?`

¹²Jen tiuj estas malvirtuloj, Kaj ili estas felicxuloj de la mondo kaj atingis ricxecon!

¹²Lo, these [are] the wicked and easy ones of the age, They have increased strength.

¹³Nur vane mi purigis mian koron Kaj lavis per senkulpeco miajn manojn,

¹³Only — a vain thing! I have purified my heart, And I wash in innocency my hands,

¹⁴Kaj mi turmentigxas cxiutage Kaj mi suferas punon cxiumatene!

¹⁴And I am plagued all the day, And my reproof [is] every morning.

¹⁵Se mi intencus paroli kiel ili, Tiam mi farigxus perfida al la generacio de Viaj filoj.

¹⁵If I have said, `I recount thus,` Lo, a generation of Thy sons I have deceived.

¹⁶Mi meditis, por kompreni cxi tion; Sed gxi estis malfacila en miaj okuloj,

¹⁶And I think to know this, Perverseness it [is] in mine eyes,

¹⁷GXis mi venis en la sanktejon de Dio Kaj ekkomprenis la finon de tio.

¹⁷Till I come in to the sanctuaries of God, I attend to their latter end.

¹⁸Vi starigas ilin sur glitiga loko; Kaj Vi jxetas ilin en pereon.

¹⁸Only, in slippery places Thou dost set them, Thou hast caused them to fall to desolations.

¹⁹Kiel momente ili ruinigxis! Pereis, malaperis de subita teruro!

¹⁹How have they become a desolation as in a moment, They have been ended — consumed from terrors.

²⁰Simile al songxo post la vekigxo, Vi, ho mia Sinjoro, en kolero tute sensignifigas ilian bildon.

²⁰As a dream from awakening, O Lord, In awaking, their image Thou despisest.

²¹Kiam bolis mia koro Kaj turmentigxis mia internajxo,

²¹For my heart doth show itself violent, And my reins prick themselves,

²²Tiam mi estis senklerulo kaj mi ne komprenis; Mi estis kiel bruto antaux Vi.

²²And I am brutish, and do not know. A beast I have been with Thee.

²³Sed mi cxiam estas apud Vi; Vi tenas min je la dekstra mano.

²³And I [am] continually with Thee, Thou hast laid hold on my right hand.

²⁴Per Via konsilo Vi min kondukas, Kaj poste Vi akceptas min kun honoro.

²⁴With Thy counsel Thou dost lead me, And after honour dost receive me.

²⁵Kiu estas por mi en la cxielo? Kaj krom Vi mi nenion volas sur la tero.

²⁵Whom have I in the heavens? And with Thee none I have desired in earth.

²⁶Konsumigxas mia karno kaj mia koro; Sed la fortikajxo de mia koro kaj mia parto estas Dio por eterne.

²⁶Consumed hath been my flesh and my heart, The rock of my heart and my portion [is] God to the age.

²⁷Jen tiuj, kiuj malproksimigxas de Vi, pereas; Vi ekstermas cxiun, kiu perfidigxis al Vi.

²⁷For, lo, those far from Thee do perish, Thou hast cut off every one, Who is going a whoring from Thee.

²⁸Sed al mi estas bone, ke mi estas proksima al Dio; Sur mian Sinjoron, sur la Eternulon, mi metis mian fidon, Por rakonti cxiujn Viajn farojn.

²⁸And I — nearness of God to me [is] good, I have placed in the Lord Jehovah my refuge, To recount all Thy works!
