¹Mia filo! se vi akceptos miajn parolojn Kaj konservos cxe vi miajn ordonojn,

¹My son, if thou receivest my words, and layest up my commandments with thee,

²Ke via orelo atente auxskultos sagxon Kaj vian koron vi inklinigos al komprenado;

²so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom [and] thou apply thy heart to understanding;

³Se vi vokos la prudenton Kaj direktos vian vocxon al la sagxo:

³yea, if thou criest after discernment [and] liftest up thy voice to understanding;

⁴Se vi sercxos gxin kiel argxenton, Sercxegos kiel trezoron:

⁴if thou seekest her as silver and searchest for her as for hidden treasures:

⁵Tiam vi komprenos la timon antaux la Eternulo, Kaj vi akiros konadon pri Dio.

⁵then shalt thou understand the fear of Jehovah, and find the knowledge of God.

⁶CXar la Eternulo donas sagxon; El Lia busxo venas scio kaj kompreno.

⁶For Jehovah giveth wisdom; out of his mouth [come] knowledge and understanding.

⁷Li havas helpon por la virtuloj; Li estas sxildo por tiuj, kiuj vivas pie.

⁷He layeth up sound wisdom for the upright; [he] is a shield to them that walk in integrity;

⁸Li gardas la iradon de la justo, Kaj zorgas pri la vojo de Siaj piuloj.

⁸guarding the paths of just judgment and keeping the way of his godly ones.

⁹Tiam vi komprenos veremon kaj juston Kaj pion kaj cxiun bonan vojon.

⁹Then shalt thou understand righteousness and judgment and equity: every good path.

¹⁰CXar sagxo venos en vian koron, Kaj scio estos agrabla por via animo.

¹⁰When wisdom entereth into thy heart and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul,

¹¹Bona konscio vin gvidos, Prudento vin gardos,

¹¹discretion shall keep thee, understanding shall preserve thee:

¹²Por savi vin de la vojo de malbono, De homo, parolanta kontrauxverajxon,

¹²To deliver thee from the way of evil, from the man that speaketh froward things;

¹³De tiuj, kiuj forlasas la gxustan vojon, Por iri la vojojn de mallumo,

¹³[from those] who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

¹⁴Kiuj gxojas, kiam ili faras malbonon, Trovas plezuron en la malordo de la malboneco,

¹⁴who rejoice to do evil, [and] delight in the frowardness of evil;

¹⁵Kies vojoj estas malrektaj Kaj kies irado deflankigxis;

¹⁵whose paths are crooked, and who are perverted in their course:

¹⁶Por savi vin de fremda virino, De edzino ne via, kies paroloj estas glataj,

¹⁶To deliver thee from the strange woman, from the stranger who flattereth with her words;

¹⁷Kiu forlasas la amikon de sia juneco, Kaj forgesas la ligon de sia Dio;

¹⁷who forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God;

¹⁸CXar sxia domo kondukas al morto, Kaj sxiaj pasxoj al la inferuloj;

¹⁸-- for her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead;

¹⁹CXiuj, kiuj eniras al sxi, ne revenas, Kaj ne reatingas la vojon de la vivo;

¹⁹none that go unto her return again, neither do they attain to the paths of life:

²⁰Ke vi iru la vojon de bonuloj, Kaj sekvu la pasxosignojn de piuloj.

²⁰-- that thou mayest walk in the way of the good, and keep the paths of the righteous.

²¹CXar la piuloj logxos sur la tero, Kaj la senpekuloj restos sur gxi;

²¹For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it;

²²Sed la malpiuloj estos ekstermitaj de sur la tero, Kaj la maliculoj estos malaperigitaj de tie.

²²but the wicked shall be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful shall be plucked up out of it.
