¹{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Free me, O Jehovah, from the evil man; preserve me from the violent man:

²Kontraux tiuj, kiuj elpensas malbonon en la koro, CXiutage kauxzas militojn;

²Who devise mischiefs in [their] heart; every day are they banded together for war.

³Kiuj akrigas sian langon, kiel serpento; Veneno de vipuro estas sub iliaj lipoj. Sela.

³They sharpen their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.

⁴Gardu min, ho Eternulo, kontraux la manoj de malvirtuloj, Gardu min kontraux perfortuloj, Kiuj intencas renversi miajn pasxojn.

⁴Keep me, O Jehovah, from the hands of the wicked [man], preserve me from the violent man, who devise to overthrow my steps.

⁵Fieruloj kasxis kaptilon por mi kaj sxnurojn, Ili etendis reton cxe la vojo, implikilon ili metis por mi. Sela.

⁵The proud have hidden a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the way-side; they have set traps for me. Selah.

⁶Mi diris al la Eternulo:Vi estas mia Dio; Atentu, ho Eternulo, la vocxon de mia petego.

⁶I have said unto Jehovah, Thou art my ùGod: give ear, O Jehovah, to the voice of my supplications.

⁷Ho Eternulo, mia Sinjoro, forto de mia savo, Vi sxirmas mian kapon en la tago de batalo.

⁷Jehovah, the Lord, is the strength of my salvation: thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

⁸Ne donu, ho Eternulo, al malvirtulo lian deziratajxon, Lian intencon ne efektivigu, ke ili ne fierigxu. Sela.

⁸Grant not, O Jehovah, the desire of the wicked; further not his device: they would exalt themselves. Selah.

⁹La veneno de miaj cxirkauxantoj, La malicajxo de iliaj lipoj kovru ilin.

⁹[As for] the head of those that encompass me, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

¹⁰Falu sur ilin brulantaj karboj; Ili jxetigxu en fajron, En abismojn, ke ili ne levigxu.

¹⁰Let burning coals fall on them; let them be cast into the fire; into deep waters, that they rise not up again.

¹¹Kalumnianto ne staros forte sur la tero; Perfortulon la malbono entiros en pereon.

¹¹Let not the man of [evil] tongue be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the man of violence to [his] ruin.

¹²Mi scias, ke la Eternulo defendos la aferon de mizerulo, La rajton de malricxuloj.

¹²I know that Jehovah will maintain the cause of the afflicted one, the right of the needy.

¹³Kaj virtuloj ja gloros Vian nomon; Piuloj restos antaux Via vizagxo.

¹³Yea, the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name; the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
