¹Psalmo de Asaf. Jes, bona estas Dio por Izrael, Por tiuj, kiuj havas puran koron.

¹{A Psalm of Asaph.} Truly God is good to Israel, to such as are of a pure heart.

²Sed mi-apenaux ne falsxanceligxis miaj piedoj, Preskaux elglitis miaj pasxoj.

²But as for me, my feet were almost gone, my steps had well nigh slipped;

³CXar mi cxagrenigxis pro la fanfaronuloj, Vidante la bonstaton de la malvirtuloj.

³For I was envious at the arrogant, seeing the prosperity of the wicked.

⁴CXar ili ne havas suferojn de morto, Kaj iliaj fortoj estas fortikaj.

⁴For they have no pangs in their death, and their body is well nourished;

⁵Ili ne partoprenas en la zorgoj de homoj, Kaj ili ne suferas kun aliaj homoj.

⁵They have not the hardships of mankind, neither are they plagued like [other] men:

⁶Tial ilian kolon cxirkauxvolvis fiereco, Kaj perforteco ilin vestas kiel ornamo.

⁶Therefore pride encompasseth them as a neck-chain, violence covereth them [as] a garment;

⁷Pro graso elmetigxis iliaj okuloj, Superbordigxis en ilia koro la intencoj.

⁷Their eyes stand out from fatness, they exceed the imaginations of their heart:

⁸Ili mokas, ili parolas malbonintence pri premado; Ili parolas de alte.

⁸They mock and speak wickedly of oppression, they speak loftily:

⁹Kontraux la cxielon ili levas sian busxon, Kaj ilia lango promenas sur la tero.

⁹They set their mouth in the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

¹⁰Tial tien ankaux iras Lia popolo, Kaj ili akvon cxerpas abunde.

¹⁰Therefore his people turn hither, and waters in fulness are wrung out to them.

¹¹Kaj ili diras:Kiel Dio scias? Kaj cxu la Plejaltulo komprenas?

¹¹And they say, How can ùGod know, and is there knowledge in the Most High?

¹²Jen tiuj estas malvirtuloj, Kaj ili estas felicxuloj de la mondo kaj atingis ricxecon!

¹²Behold, these are the wicked, and they prosper in the world: they heap up riches.

¹³Nur vane mi purigis mian koron Kaj lavis per senkulpeco miajn manojn,

¹³Truly have I purified my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency:

¹⁴Kaj mi turmentigxas cxiutage Kaj mi suferas punon cxiumatene!

¹⁴For all the day have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

¹⁵Se mi intencus paroli kiel ili, Tiam mi farigxus perfida al la generacio de Viaj filoj.

¹⁵If I said, I will speak thus, behold, I should be faithless to the generation of thy children.

¹⁶Mi meditis, por kompreni cxi tion; Sed gxi estis malfacila en miaj okuloj,

¹⁶When I thought to be able to know this, it was a grievous task in mine eyes;

¹⁷GXis mi venis en la sanktejon de Dio Kaj ekkomprenis la finon de tio.

¹⁷Until I went into the sanctuaries of ùGod; [then] understood I their end.

¹⁸Vi starigas ilin sur glitiga loko; Kaj Vi jxetas ilin en pereon.

¹⁸Truly thou settest them in slippery places, thou castest them down in ruins.

¹⁹Kiel momente ili ruinigxis! Pereis, malaperis de subita teruro!

¹⁹How are they suddenly made desolate! they pass away, consumed with terrors.

²⁰Simile al songxo post la vekigxo, Vi, ho mia Sinjoro, en kolero tute sensignifigas ilian bildon.

²⁰As a dream, when one awaketh, wilt thou, Lord, on arising despise their image.

²¹Kiam bolis mia koro Kaj turmentigxis mia internajxo,

²¹When my heart was in a ferment, and I was pricked in my reins,

²²Tiam mi estis senklerulo kaj mi ne komprenis; Mi estis kiel bruto antaux Vi.

²²Then I was brutish and knew nothing; I was [as] a beast with thee.

²³Sed mi cxiam estas apud Vi; Vi tenas min je la dekstra mano.

²³Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden my right hand;

²⁴Per Via konsilo Vi min kondukas, Kaj poste Vi akceptas min kun honoro.

²⁴Thou wilt guide me by thy counsel, and after the glory, thou wilt receive me.

²⁵Kiu estas por mi en la cxielo? Kaj krom Vi mi nenion volas sur la tero.

²⁵Whom have I in the heavens? and there is none upon earth I desire beside thee.

²⁶Konsumigxas mia karno kaj mia koro; Sed la fortikajxo de mia koro kaj mia parto estas Dio por eterne.

²⁶My flesh and my heart faileth: God is the rock of my heart and my portion for ever.

²⁷Jen tiuj, kiuj malproksimigxas de Vi, pereas; Vi ekstermas cxiun, kiu perfidigxis al Vi.

²⁷For behold, they that are far from thee shall perish; thou destroyest every one that goeth a whoring from thee.

²⁸Sed al mi estas bone, ke mi estas proksima al Dio; Sur mian Sinjoron, sur la Eternulon, mi metis mian fidon, Por rakonti cxiujn Viajn farojn.

²⁸But as for me, it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord Jehovah, that I may declare all thy works.
