¹{A Prayer of Moses, the man of God.} Lord, *thou* hast been our dwelling-place in all generations.

²Antaux ol la montoj naskigxis Kaj Vi kreis la teron kaj la mondon, Kaj de eterne gxis eterne, Vi estas Dio.

²Before the mountains were brought forth, and thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from eternity to eternity thou art ùGod.

³Vi venigas homon al polvo; Kaj Vi diras:Revenu, homidoj.

³Thou makest [mortal] man to return to dust, and sayest, Return, children of men.

⁴CXar mil jaroj estas en Viaj okuloj Kiel la hierauxa tago, kiu pasis, Kaj kiel nokta gardoparto.

⁴For a thousand years, in thy sight, are as yesterday when it is past, and [as] a watch in the night.

⁵Vi forfluigas ilin torente, ili estas kiel songxo; Matene ili renovigxas kiel herbo:

⁵Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are [as] a sleep: in the morning they are like grass [that] groweth up:

⁶Matene gxi floras kaj gxermas, Vespere gxi dehakigxas kaj sekigxas.

⁶In the morning it flourisheth and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down and withereth.

⁷Jes, ni pereas de Via kolero, Kaj de Via kolerego ni neniigxas.

⁷For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy fury are we troubled.

⁸Vi metis niajn malbonagojn antaux Vin, Nian kasxitajxon antaux la lumon de Via vizagxo.

⁸Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret [sins] in the light of thy countenance.

⁹CXar cxiuj niaj tagoj pasis sub Via kolero, Malaperis niaj jaroj, kiel sono.

⁹For all our days pass away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a [passing] thought.

¹⁰La dauxro de nia vivo estas sepdek jaroj, Kaj cxe forteco okdek jaroj; Kaj ilia tuta majesto estas penado kaj suferado, CXar gxi forkuras rapide kaj ni forflugas.

¹⁰The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if, by reason of strength, they be fourscore years, yet their pride is labour and vanity, for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

¹¹Kiu scias la forton de Via kolero, Vian timindecon kaj Vian indignon?

¹¹Who knoweth the power of thine anger? and thy wrath according to the fear of thee?

¹²Instruu nin kalkuli niajn tagojn, Por ke ni akiru sagxan koron.

¹²So teach [us] to number our days, that we may acquire a wise heart.

¹³Returnu Vin, ho Eternulo! Kiel longe? Kaj kompatu Viajn sklavojn.

¹³Return, Jehovah: how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.

¹⁴Satigu nin matene per Via boneco; Kaj ni kantos kaj gxojos en la dauxro de nia tuta vivo.

¹⁴Satisfy us early with thy loving-kindness; that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

¹⁵GXojigu nin tiel longe, kiel Vi nin premis, Tiom da jaroj, kiom ni vidis mizeron.

¹⁵Make us glad according to the days [wherein] thou hast afflicted us, according to the years [wherein] we have seen evil.

¹⁶Al Viaj sklavoj aperu Viaj faroj, Kaj Via beleco al iliaj infanoj.

¹⁶Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy majesty unto their sons.

¹⁷Kaj la favoro de la Eternulo, nia Dio, estu super ni; Kaj la faron de niaj manoj fortikigu al ni, Kaj fortikigu la faron de niaj manoj.

¹⁷And let the beauty of Jehovah our God be upon us; and establish thou the work of our hands upon us: yea, the work of our hands, establish thou it.
