¹En la komenco de la regxado de Jehojakim, filo de Josxija, regxo de Judujo, aperis jena vorto de la Eternulo:

¹In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word from Yahweh, saying,

²Tiele diras la Eternulo:Starigxu sur la korto de la domo de la Eternulo, kaj parolu pri cxiuj urboj de Judujo, kiuj venas en la domon de la Eternulo por adorklinigxi, cxiujn vortojn, kiujn Mi ordonis al vi diri al ili; ne mankigu ecx unu vorton.

²Thus says Yahweh: Stand in the court of Yahweh’s house, and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in Yahweh’s house, all the words that I command you to speak to them; don’t diminish a word.

³Eble ili auxskultos kaj returnos sin cxiu de sia malbona vojo; kaj tiam Mi fordecidos la malbonon, kiun Mi intencas fari al ili pro iliaj malbonaj agoj.

³It may be they will listen, and turn every man from his evil way; that I may repent me of the evil which I purpose to do to them because of the evil of their doings.

⁴Kaj diru al ili:Tiele diras la Eternulo:Se vi ne obeos Min, por agadi laux Mia instruo, kiun Mi donis al vi,

⁴You shall tell them, Thus says Yahweh: If you will not listen to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,

⁵por obei la vortojn de Miaj servantoj, la profetoj, kiujn Mi sendas al vi, kiujn Mi konstante sendadis, sed vi ilin ne auxskultis:

⁵to listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I send to you, even rising up early and sending them, but you have not listened;

⁶tiam Mi agos kun cxi tiu domo kiel kun SXilo, kaj cxi tiun urbon Mi faros malbeno por cxiuj popoloj de la tero.

⁶then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.

⁷Kaj auxdis la pastroj kaj la profetoj kaj la tuta popolo, kiel Jeremia parolis tiujn vortojn en la domo de la Eternulo.

⁷The priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of Yahweh.

⁸Kiam Jeremia finis la paroladon de cxio, kion la Eternulo ordonis diri al la tuta popolo, tiam kaptis lin la pastroj kaj la profetoj kaj la tuta popolo, dirante:Vi devas morti!

⁸It happened, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that Yahweh had commanded him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people laid hold on him, saying, You shall surely die.

⁹Kial vi profetas en la nomo de la Eternulo, dirante:CXi tiu domo farigxos kiel SXilo, kaj cxi tiu urbo dezertigxos tiel, ke estos en gxi neniu logxanto? Kaj la tuta popolo amasigxis cxirkaux Jeremia en la domo de la Eternulo.

⁹Why have you prophesied in the name of Yahweh, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without inhabitant? All the people were gathered to Jeremiah in the house of Yahweh.

¹⁰Kiam la eminentuloj de Judujo auxdis pri tio, ili iris el la regxa domo en la domon de la Eternulo kaj sidigxis cxe la enirejo de la nova pordego de la domo de la Eternulo.

¹⁰When the princes of Judah heard these things, they came up from the king’s house to the house of Yahweh; and they sat in the entry of the new gate of Yahweh’s house.

¹¹Kaj la pastroj kaj la profetoj diris al la eminentuloj kaj al la tuta popolo jene:Al morto estas kondamninda cxi tiu homo, cxar li profetis kontraux cxi tiu urbo, kiel vi auxdis per viaj oreloj.

¹¹Then spoke the priests and the prophets to the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy of death; for he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears.

¹²Tiam Jeremia diris al cxiuj eminentuloj kaj al la tuta popolo jene:La Eternulo sendis min, por profeti kontraux cxi tiu domo kaj cxi tiu urbo cxion, kion vi auxdis.

¹²Then spoke Jeremiah to all the princes and to all the people, saying, Yahweh sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard.

¹³Plibonigu do nun viajn vojojn kaj vian konduton, kaj obeu la vocxon de la Eternulo, via Dio; kaj tiam la Eternulo fordecidos la malbonon, kiun Li diris pri vi.

¹³Now therefore amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of Yahweh your God; and Yahweh will repent him of the evil that he has pronounced against you.

¹⁴Kaj mi estas nun en viaj manoj; faru kun mi tion, kion vi trovas bona kaj justa.

¹⁴But as for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as is good and right in your eyes.

¹⁵Sed sciu, ke se vi min mortigos, vi sxargxos per senkulpa sango vin kaj cxi tiun urbon kaj gxiajn logxantojn; cxar vere la Eternulo sendis min al vi, por diri en viajn orelojn cxiujn tiujn vortojn.

¹⁵Only know for certain that, if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood on yourselves, and on this city, and on its inhabitants; for of a truth Yahweh has sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.

¹⁶Tiam la eminentuloj kaj la tuta popolo diris al la pastroj kaj al la profetoj:CXi tiu homo ne estas kondamninda al morto, cxar li parolis al ni en la nomo de la Eternulo, nia Dio.

¹⁶Then the princes and all the people said to the priests and to the prophets: This man is not worthy of death; for he has spoken to us in the name of Yahweh our God.

¹⁷Kaj levigxis kelkaj el la plejagxuloj de la lando, kaj diris al la tuta amaso de la popolo jene:

¹⁷Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying,

¹⁸Mihxa, la Moresxetano, profetis en la tempo de HXizkija, regxo de Judujo, kaj diris al la tuta Juda popolo jene:Tiele diras la Eternulo Cebaot:Cion estos plugita kiel kampo, Jerusalem farigxos ruinajxo, kaj la monto de la templo farigxos arbara altajxo.

¹⁸Micah the Morashtite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and he spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus says Yahweh of Armies: Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.

¹⁹CXu mortigis lin HXizkija, regxo de Judujo, kaj cxiuj Judoj? ili timis ja la Eternulon kaj pregxis antaux la Eternulo, kaj la Eternulo fordecidis la malbonon, kiun Li diris pri ili. Kaj ni farus grandan malbonon kontraux niaj animoj.

¹⁹Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him to death? Didn’t he fear Yahweh, and entreat the favor of Yahweh, and Yahweh relented of the disaster which he had pronounced against them? Thus should we commit great evil against our own souls.

²⁰Ankaux alia homo profetis en la nomo de la Eternulo, Urija, filo de SXemaja, el Kirjat-Jearim; li profetis kontraux cxi tiu urbo kaj cxi tiu lando, simile al cxio, kion diris Jeremia.

²⁰There was also a man who prophesied in the name of Yahweh, Uriah the son of Shemaiah of Kiriath Jearim; and he prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah:

²¹Kaj liajn vortojn auxdis la regxo Jehojakim kaj cxiuj liaj potenculoj kaj cxiuj eminentuloj, kaj la regxo intencis mortigi lin; sed Urija tion auxdis, kaj ektimis, kaj forkuris kaj venis en Egiptujon.

²¹and when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death; but when Uriah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt:

²²and Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him, into Egypt;

²³and they fetched forth Uriah out of Egypt, and brought him to Jehoiakim the king, who killed him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.

²⁴Tamen la mano de Ahxikam, filo de SXafan, protektis Jeremian, ne lasante transdoni lin en la manojn de la popolo, por mortigi lin.

²⁴But the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
