¹Ja kui inimesi hakkas maa peal palju saama ja neile sündis tütreid,

¹And it came to pass when mankind began to multiply on the earth, and daughters were born to them,

²siis nägid Jumala pojad, et inimeste tütred olid ilusad, ja nad võtsid enestele naisi kõigist neist, keda nad välja valisid.

²that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair, and took themselves wives of all that they chose.

³Aga Issand ütles: 'Minu Vaim ei pea igavesti jääma inimesse, sest ta on ikkagi ainult liha. Olgu ta elupäevi sada kakskümmend aastat!'

³And Jehovah said, My Spirit shall not always plead with Man; for he indeed is flesh; but his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.

⁴Sel ajal, ja veel pärastpoolegi, kui Jumala pojad heitsid inimeste tütarde juurde ja need neile lapsi ilmale tõid, olid hiiglased maa peal: needsamad vägimehed, kes muistsest ajast on kuulsad mehed.

⁴In those days were the giants on the earth, and also afterwards, when the sons of God had come in to the daughters of men, and they had borne [children] to them; these were the heroes, who of old were men of renown.

⁵Kui Issand nägi, et inimese kurjus maa peal oli suur ja kõik ta südame mõtlemised iga päev üksnes kurjad,

⁵And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of Man was great on the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart only evil continually.

⁶siis Issand kahetses, et ta inimese oli teinud maa peale, ja ta süda valutas.

⁶And Jehovah repented that he had made Man on the earth, and it grieved him in his heart.

⁷Ja Issand ütles: 'Ma tahan inimese, kelle ma olen loonud, maa pealt kaotada, niihästi inimesed kui loomad ja roomajad ja taeva linnud, sest ma kahetsen, et ma nad olen teinud!'

⁷And Jehovah said, I will destroy Man, whom I have created, from the earth -- from man to cattle, to creeping things, and to fowl of the heavens; for I repent that I have made them.

⁸Aga Noa leidis armu Issanda silmis.

⁸But Noah found favour in the eyes of Jehovah.

⁹This is the history of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect amongst his generations: Noah walked with God.

¹⁰Ja Noale sündis kolm poega - Seem, Haam ja Jaafet.

¹⁰And Noah begot three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

¹¹Aga maa oli Jumala palge ees raisku läinud ja vägivald täitis maad.

¹¹And the earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was full of violence.

¹²Ja Jumal vaatas maad, ja näe, see oli raisku läinud, sest kõik liha maa peal oli oma eluviisides raiskunud.

¹²And God looked upon the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted its way on the earth.

¹³Ja Jumal ütles Noale: 'Ma olen otsustanud teha lõpu kõigele lihale, sest maa on täis nende vägivalda, ja seepärast, vaata, ma hävitan nemad koos maaga.

¹³And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me, for the earth is full of violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

¹⁴Tee enesele laev goferipuust; laev tee kambritega ja pigita seda seest ning väljast maapigiga!

¹⁴Make thyself an ark of gopher wood: [with] cells shalt thou make the ark; and pitch it inside and outside with pitch.

¹⁵Ja tee see nõndaviisi: laeva pikkus olgu kolmsada küünart, laius viiskümmend küünart ja kõrgus kolmkümmend küünart;

¹⁵And thus shalt thou make it: let the length of the ark be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

¹⁶valmista see küünramõõdu järgi; tee laevale katus peale ja tee uks laeva küljesse; tee sellele alumine, keskmine ja ülemine lagi!

¹⁶A light shalt thou make to the ark; and to a cubit high shalt thou finish it above. And the door of the ark shalt thou set in its side: [with] a lower, second, and third [story] shalt thou make it.

¹⁷Sest vaata, ma saadan veeuputuse maa peale ja hävitan taeva alt kõik liha, kus eluvaim sees on; kõik, mis maa peal on, peab hinge heitma!

¹⁷For I, behold, I bring a flood of waters on the earth, to destroy all flesh under the heavens in which is the breath of life: everything that is on the earth shall expire.

¹⁸Aga sinuga ma teen lepingu ja sina pead minema laeva, sina ja su pojad, su naine ja su poegade naised sinuga.

¹⁸But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt go into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.

¹⁹Ja sa pead viima laeva kõigist elavaist olendeist, kõigest lihast, igast liigist kaks, et nad koos sinuga jääksid elama: need olgu isane ja emane.

¹⁹And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every [sort] shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep [them] alive with thee: they shall be male and female.

²⁰Lindudest nende liikide järgi ja loomadest nende liikide järgi, kõigist roomajaist maa peal nende liikide järgi, kõigist peavad kaks tulema sinu juurde, et nad võiksid jääda elama.

²⁰Of fowl after their kind, and of the cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of each shall go in to thee, to keep [them] alive.

²¹Ja sina võta enesele kõigest roast, mida süüakse, ja kogu enese juurde, et see oleks toiduks sinule ja neile.'

²¹And take thou of all food that is eaten, and gather [it] to thee, that it may be for food for thee and for them.

²²Ja Noa tegi kõik. Nii nagu Jumal teda käskis, nõnda ta tegi.

²²And Noah did it; according to all that God had commanded him, so did he.
