1Ja Eliihu jätkas ning ütles:
1Moreover Elihu answered and said,
2'Kuulge mu sõnu, te targad, ja pöörake oma kõrv minu poole, te teadjad!
2Hear my words, ye wise [men]; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.
3Sest kõrv katsub sõnad läbi ja suulagi maitseb rooga.
3For the ear trieth words, as the palate tasteth food.
4Valigem endile, mis on õige, tunnetagem isekeskis, mis on hea!
4Let us choose for ourselves what is right; let us know among ourselves what is good!
5Sest Iiob on öelnud: 'Ma olen õige, aga Jumal on võtnud minult õiguse.
5For Job hath said, I am righteous, and ùGod hath taken away my judgment:
6Kuigi mul on õigus, peetakse mind valetajaks. Mul on parandamatu haav, kuigi ma pole üle astunud.'
6Should I lie against my right? My wound is incurable without transgression.
7Kas on Iiobi sarnast meest, kes pilget joob nagu vett,
7What man is like Job? he drinketh up scorning like water,
8kes läheb ülekohtutegijate kilda ja käib koos õelate inimestega?
8And goeth in company with workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.
9Sest tema ütleb: 'Ei ole inimesel sellest kasu, et tal on sõprus Jumalaga!'
9For he hath said, It profiteth not a man if he delight himself in God.
10Seepärast kuulge, mõistlikud mehed, mind: kaugel on Jumalast õelus ja Kõigevägevamast ülekohtutegu.
10Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: Far be wickedness from ùGod, and wrong from the Almighty!
11Sest inimese tegu mööda tasub ta temale, ja nagu on kellegi tee, nõnda temale antakse.
11For a man's work will he render to him, and cause every one to find according to [his] way.
12Jah, tõesti, Jumal ei tee ülekohut ja Kõigevägevam ei vääna õigust.
12Yea, surely, ùGod acteth not wickedly, and the Almighty perverteth not judgment.
13Kes on temale usaldanud maa? Ja kes on loonud kogu maailma?
13Who hath entrusted to him the earth? and who hath disposed the whole world?
14Kui ta iseenesesse tõmbuks, oma Vaimu ja hingeõhu tagasi võtaks,
14If he only thought of himself, [and] gathered unto him his spirit and his breath,
15siis heidaks kõik liha üheskoos hinge ja inimene saaks jälle põrmuks.
15All flesh would expire together, and man would return to the dust.
16Kui sul nüüd on arukust, siis kuule seda, võta kõrvu mu sõnade kõla!
16If now [thou hast] understanding, hear this: give ear to the voice of my words!
17Kas siis tõesti peaks valitsema õiguse vihkaja? Või tahad sa süüdi mõista õiget ja võimast,
17Should he that hateth right indeed govern? and wilt thou condemn the All-just?
18kes ütleb kuningale: 'Kõlvatu!', vürstidele: 'Õel!',
18Shall one say to a king, Belial? to nobles, Wicked?
19kes ei pea lugu vürstidest ega eelista suursugust viletsale, sest et need kõik on tema kätetöö?
19[How then to him] that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich man more than the poor? for they are all the work of his hands.
20Nad surevad äkitselt keset ööd: inimesed vaaruvad ja lähevad, ja ilma käetagi võetakse ära vägev.
20In a moment they die, even at midnight the people are convulsed and pass away; and the strong are taken away without hand.
21Sest tema silmad on igaühe teede peal ja ta näeb kõiki tema samme.
21For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his steps.
22Ei ole pimedust ega varjulist paika, kuhu ülekohtutegijad saaksid peitu pugeda.
22There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
23Sest tema ei anna inimesele aega Jumala juurde kohtusse minekuks:
23For he doth not long consider a man, to bring him before ùGod in judgment.
24ta peksab vägevad üle kuulamata puruks ja paneb teised nende asemele.
24He breaketh in pieces mighty men without inquiry, and setteth others in their stead;
25Sellepärast, et ta nende tegusid tunneb, hävitab ta nad öösel ja nad purustatakse.
25Since he knoweth their actions; and he overthroweth [them] in the night, and they are crushed.
26Ta peksab neid nagu kurjategijaid paigas, kus on nägijaid,
26He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others,
27sellepärast et nad taganesid tema järelt ega hoolinud ühestki tema teest.
27Because they have turned back from him, and would consider none of his ways;
28Nende pärast tõusis viletsate hädakisa tema ette, ja tema kuulis vaeste appihüüdeid.
28So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
29Kui ta on vait, kes võiks teda süüdistada? Ja kui ta oma palge peidab, kes saaks teda näha? Niihästi rahva kui inimese üle
29When he giveth quietness, who then will disturb? and when he hideth [his] face, who shall behold him? and this towards a nation, or towards a man alike;
30paneb ta kuningaks jumalavallatu inimese rahva võrgutajate seast.
30That the ungodly man reign not, that the people be not ensnared.
31Kui keegi ütleb Jumalale: 'Ma olen eksinud, ma ei tee enam kurja;
31For hath he said unto ùGod, I bear [chastisement], I will not offend;
32mida ma ei mõista, seda õpeta sina mulle, ja kui olen ülekohut teinud, siis ma seda enam ei tee!',
32What I see not, teach thou me; if I have done wrong, I will do so no more?
33kas ta siis sinu arust peaks kätte maksma, sellepärast et sina ei ole sellega rahul? Kuid sina pead otsustama, mitte mina, seepärast räägi, mida sa tead!
33Shall he recompense according to thy mind? for thou hast refused [his judgment]; for thou so choosest, and not I; speak then what thou knowest.
34Mõistlikud inimesed ütlevad mulle, samuti tark mees, kes mind kuuleb:
34Men of understanding will say to me, and a wise man who heareth me:
35'Iiob räägib mõistmatult ja tema sõnad pole targad.'
35Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were not with intelligence.
36Ah, peaks ometi Iiob pandama lõpuni proovile, kuna ta on vastanud nurjatul viisil!
36Would that Job may be tried unto the end, because of [his] answers after the manner of evil men!
37Sest ta lisab oma patule üleastumise, peksab meie keskel keelt ja räägib palju Jumala vastu.'
37For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth [his hands] among us, and multiplieth his words against ùGod.
