¹{A Prayer of Moses, the man of God.} Lord, *thou* hast been our dwelling-place in all generations.

²Enne kui mäed sündisid ja kui maa ja maailm loodi, oled sina, Jumal, igavesest igavesti.

²Before the mountains were brought forth, and thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from eternity to eternity thou art ùGod.

³Sina viid inimese jälle põrmu ja ütled: 'Tulge tagasi, inimlapsed!'

³Thou makest [mortal] man to return to dust, and sayest, Return, children of men.

⁴Sest tuhat aastat on sinu silmis nagu eilne päev, kui see on möödunud, ja nagu vahikord öösel.

⁴For a thousand years, in thy sight, are as yesterday when it is past, and [as] a watch in the night.

⁵Sa uhud nad ära, nad on nagu uni, nagu rohi, mis hommikul haljendab.

⁵Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are [as] a sleep: in the morning they are like grass [that] groweth up:

⁶See õitseb hommikul ja haljendab, õhtul see närtsib ja kuivab ära.

⁶In the morning it flourisheth and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down and withereth.

⁷Sest sinu viha tõttu me lõpeme ja su vihaleegist me ehmume.

⁷For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy fury are we troubled.

⁸Sa paned meie pahateod enese ette, meie salapatud oma palge valguse ette.

⁸Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret [sins] in the light of thy countenance.

⁹Sest kõik meie päevad mööduvad su raevu all, meie aastad lõpevad nagu ohe.

⁹For all our days pass away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a [passing] thought.

¹⁰Meie päevade mõõt on seitsekümmend aastat ja kui keegi on tugev, kaheksakümmend aastat, ja parimal puhul on need ometi vaev ja häda. Jah, see möödub kähku ja me lendame ära.

¹⁰The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if, by reason of strength, they be fourscore years, yet their pride is labour and vanity, for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

¹¹Kes tunneb su viha tugevust ja su raevu, nõnda nagu sind tuleb karta?

¹¹Who knoweth the power of thine anger? and thy wrath according to the fear of thee?

¹²Õpeta meid meie päevi arvestama, et me saaksime targa südame!

¹²So teach [us] to number our days, that we may acquire a wise heart.

¹³Pöördu tagasi, Issand! Oh kui kaua? Halasta oma sulaste peale!

¹³Return, Jehovah: how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.

¹⁴Täida meid hommikul oma heldusega, siis me hõiskame ja oleme rõõmsad kogu oma eluaja!

¹⁴Satisfy us early with thy loving-kindness; that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

¹⁵Rõõmusta meid nii palju päevi, kui sa meid vaevasid, nii palju aastaid, kui me nägime õnnetust!

¹⁵Make us glad according to the days [wherein] thou hast afflicted us, according to the years [wherein] we have seen evil.

¹⁶Saagu nähtavaks su töö su sulastele ja nende lastele su auhiilgus!

¹⁶Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy majesty unto their sons.

¹⁷Issandal, meie Jumalal, olgu lahke meel meie vastu! Meie kätetööd ta kinnitagu meile! Kinnita meie kätetööd!

¹⁷And let the beauty of Jehovah our God be upon us; and establish thou the work of our hands upon us: yea, the work of our hands, establish thou it.
