1ואלה תולדת בני נח שם חם ויפת ויולדו להם בנים אחר המבול׃
1And these [are] births of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth; and born to them are sons after the deluge.
2בני יפת גמר ומגוג ומדי ויון ותבל ומשך ותירס׃
2`Sons of Japheth [are] Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3ובני גמר אשכנז וריפת ותגרמה׃
3And sons of Gomer [are] Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4ובני יון אלישה ותרשיש כתים ודדנים׃
4And sons of Javan [are] Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
5מאלה נפרדו איי הגוים בארצתם איש ללשנו למשפחתם בגויהם׃
5By these have the isles of the nations been parted in their lands, each by his tongue, by their families, in their nations.
6ובני חם כוש ומצרים ופוט וכנען׃
6And sons of Ham [are] Cush, and Mitzraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
7ובני כוש סבא וחוילה וסבתה ורעמה וסבתכא ובני רעמה שבא ודדן׃
7And sons of Cush [are] Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah; and sons of Raamah [are] Sheba and Dedan.
8וכוש ילד את נמרד הוא החל להיות גבר בארץ׃
8And Cush hath begotten Nimrod;
9הוא היה גבר ציד לפני יהוה על כן יאמר כנמרד גבור ציד לפני יהוה׃
9he hath begun to be a hero in the land; he hath been a hero in hunting before Jehovah; therefore it is said, `As Nimrod the hero [in] hunting before Jehovah.`
10ותהי ראשית ממלכתו בבל וארך ואכד וכלנה בארץ שנער׃
10And the first part of his kingdom is Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar;
11מן הארץ ההוא יצא אשור ויבן את נינוה ואת רחבת עיר ואת כלח׃
11from that land he hath gone out to Asshur, and buildeth Nineveh, even the broad places of the city, and Calah,
12ואת רסן בין נינוה ובין כלח הוא העיר הגדלה׃
12and Resen, between Nineveh and Calah; it [is] the great city.
13ומצרים ילד את לודים ואת ענמים ואת להבים ואת נפתחים׃
13And Mitzraim hath begotten the Ludim, and the Anamim, and the Lehabim, and the Naphtuhim,
14ואת פתרסים ואת כסלחים אשר יצאו משם פלשתים ואת כפתרים׃
14and the Pathrusim, and the Casluhim, (whence have come out Philistim,) and the Caphtorim.
15וכנען ילד את צידן בכרו ואת חת׃
15And Canaan hath begotten Sidon his first-born, and Heth,
16ואת היבוסי ואת האמרי ואת הגרגשי׃
16and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,
17ואת החוי ואת הערקי ואת הסיני׃
17and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
18ואת הארודי ואת הצמרי ואת החמתי ואחר נפצו משפחות הכנעני׃
18and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite; and afterwards have the families of the Canaanite been scattered.
19ויהי גבול הכנעני מצידן באכה גררה עד עזה באכה סדמה ועמרה ואדמה וצבים עד לשע׃
19And the border of the Canaanite is from Sidon, [in] thy coming towards Gerar, unto Gaza; [in] thy coming towards Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, unto Lasha.
20אלה בני חם למשפחתם ללשנתם בארצתם בגויהם׃
20These [are] sons of Ham, by their families, by their tongues, in their lands, in their nations.
21ולשם ילד גם הוא אבי כל בני עבר אחי יפת הגדול׃
21As to Shem, father of all sons of Eber, brother of Japheth the elder, he hath also begotten:
22בני שם עילם ואשור וארפכשד ולוד וארם׃
22Sons of Shem [are] Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
23ובני ארם עוץ וחול וגתר ומש׃
23And sons of Aram [are] Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
24וארפכשד ילד את שלח ושלח ילד את עבר׃
24And Arphaxad hath begotten Salah, and Salah hath begotten Eber.
25ולעבר ילד שני בנים שם האחד פלג כי בימיו נפלגה הארץ ושם אחיו יקטן׃
25And to Eber have two sons been born; the name of the one [is] Peleg (for in his days hath the earth been divided,) and his brother`s name [is] Joktan.
26ויקטן ילד את אלמודד ואת שלף ואת חצרמות ואת ירח׃
26And Joktan hath begotten Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
27ואת הדורם ואת אוזל ואת דקלה׃
27and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
28ואת עובל ואת אבימאל ואת שבא׃
28and Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
29ואת אופר ואת חוילה ואת יובב כל אלה בני יקטן׃
29and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab; all these [are] sons of Joktan;
30ויהי מושבם ממשא באכה ספרה הר הקדם׃
30and their dwelling is from Mesha, [in] thy coming towards Sephar, a mount of the east.
31אלה בני שם למשפחתם ללשנתם בארצתם לגויהם׃
31These [are] sons of Shem, by their families, by their tongues, in their lands, by their nations.
32אלה משפחת בני נח לתולדתם בגויהם ומאלה נפרדו הגוים בארץ אחר המבול׃
32These [are] families of the sons of Noah, by their births, in their nations, and by these have the nations been parted in the earth after the deluge.
