3Lofið hann, sól og tungl, lofið hann, allar lýsandi stjörnur.
3Praise him, sun and moon! Praise him, all you shining stars!
4Lofið hann, himnar himnanna og vötnin, sem eru yfir himninum.
4Praise him, you heavens of heavens, You waters that are above the heavens.
5Þau skulu lofa nafn Drottins, því að hans boði voru þau sköpuð.
5Let them praise the name of Yahweh, For he commanded, and they were created.
6Og hann fékk þeim stað um aldur og ævi, hann gaf þeim lög, sem þau mega eigi brjóta.
6He has also established them forever and ever. He has made a decree which will not pass away.
7Lofið Drottin af jörðu, þér sjóskrímsl og allir hafstraumar,
7Praise Yahweh from the earth, you great sea creatures, and all depths!
8eldur og hagl, snjór og reykur, stormbylurinn, sem framkvæmir orð hans,
8Lightning and hail, snow and clouds; stormy wind, fulfilling his word;
9fjöllin og allar hæðir, ávaxtartrén og öll sedrustrén,
9mountains and all hills; fruit trees and all cedars;
10villidýrin og allur fénaður, skriðkvikindin og fleygir fuglar,
10wild animals and all livestock; small creatures and flying birds;
11konungar jarðarinnar og allar þjóðir, höfðingjar og allir dómendur jarðar,
11kings of the earth and all peoples; princes and all judges of the earth;
12bæði yngismenn og yngismeyjar, öldungar og ungir sveinar!
12both young men and maidens; old men and children:
13Þau skulu lofa nafn Drottins, því að hans nafn eitt er hátt upp hafið, tign hans er yfir jörð og himni.Hann lyftir upp horni fyrir lýð sinn, lofsöngur hljómi hjá öllum dýrkendum hans, hjá sonum Ísraels, þjóðinni, sem er nálæg honum. Halelúja.
13let them praise the name of Yahweh, for his name alone is exalted. His glory is above the earth and the heavens.
14Hann lyftir upp horni fyrir lýð sinn, lofsöngur hljómi hjá öllum dýrkendum hans, hjá sonum Ísraels, þjóðinni, sem er nálæg honum. Halelúja.
14He has lifted up the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near to him. Praise Yah!
