1Ɛeddan kra n wussan, Sidna Ɛisa yuli ɣer temdint n Lquds akken ad yeḥdeṛ i lɛid n wat Isṛail.
1After these things was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2Di temdint-agi, zdat n tewwurt yețțusemman « tawwurt n wulli, »tella yiwet n temda n waman qqaṛen-as s tɛibṛanit : « Bitesda ». Zzin-as-d xemsa ifragen yesɛan ssqef.
2Now there is in Jerusalem, at the sheepgate, a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches.
3Deg ifragen-agi aṭas n imuḍan i gḍelqen, iderɣalen, iɛibanen d wukrifen țṛaǧun akk ad ḥerrken waman.
3In these lay a multitude of sick, blind, lame, withered, [awaiting the moving of the water.
4Axaṭer tiswiɛin yețṣubbu-d yiwen n lmelk ɣer temda, yețḥerrik aman-nni ; win ara ikecmen d amezwaru ɣer temda m'ara ḥerrken waman ad yeḥlu si lehlak-is akken yebɣu yili.
4For an angel descended at a certain season in the pool and troubled the water. Whoever therefore first went in after the troubling of the water became well, whatever disease he laboured under.]
5Yella dinna yiwen wergaz tmanya utlatin iseggasen nețța di lehlak.
5But there was a certain man there who had been suffering under his infirmity thirty and eight years.
6Sidna Ɛisa mi t-iwala yeḍleq, yeẓra belli aṭas aya segmi yuḍen, yenna-yas: Tebɣiḍ aț-țeḥluḍ ?
6Jesus seeing this [man] lying [there], and knowing that he was [in that state] now a great length of time, says to him, Wouldest thou become well?
7Amuḍin-nni yerra-yas-ed : A Sidi, ur sɛiɣ ara win ara yi gren ɣer temda m'ara ḥerken waman ; m'ara ɛeṛdeɣ ad kecmeɣ wayeḍ a yi-izwir.
7The infirm [man] answered him, Sir, I have not a man, in order, when the water has been troubled, to cast me into the pool; but while I am coming another descends before me.
8Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : Ekker fell-ak, ddem tagertilt-ik telḥuḍ !
8Jesus says to him, Arise, take up thy couch and walk.
9Imiren kan argaz-nni yeḥla, yeddem tagertilt-is yebda tikli. Ayagi yedṛa deg wass n ssebt yellan d ass n westeɛfu.
9And immediately the man became well, and took up his couch and walked: and on that day was sabbath.
10Lecyux n wat Isṛail nnan-as i wergaz-nni yeḥlan : Ass-agi d ass n westeɛfu, d leḥṛam fell-ak aț-țebbibeḍ tagertilt-ik !
10The Jews therefore said to the healed [man], It is sabbath, it is not permitted thee to take up thy couch.
11Nețța yerra-yasen : Win i yi-sseḥlan d nețța i yi-d yennan : « Ddem tagertilt-ik telḥuḍ. »
11He answered them, He that made me well, *he* said to me, Take up thy couch and walk.
12Steqsan-t nnan-as : Anwa i k-d-yennan akka ?
12They asked him [therefore], Who is the man who said to thee, Take up thy couch and walk?
13Lameɛna argaz-nni yeḥlan ur yeẓri ara anwa-t, axaṭer Sidna Ɛisa yekcem ger lɣaci ițemdeḥḥasen dinna.
13But he that had been healed knew not who it was, for Jesus had slidden away, there being a crowd in the place.
14Taswiɛt kan, Sidna Ɛisa yemlal-it-id deg wefrag n lǧameɛ iqedsen yenna yas : Aql-ik teḥliḍ, sya d asawen xḍu i ddnub iwakken ur ideṛṛu ara yid-ek akteṛ n wannect-nni !
14After these things Jesus finds him in the temple, and said to him, Behold, thou art become well: sin no more, that something worse do not happen to thee.
15Argaz-nni iṛuḥ ad ixebbeṛ lecyux n wat Isṛail belli d Sidna Ɛisa i t-yesseḥlan.
15The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
16Lecyux n wat Isṛail bdan accetki ɣef Sidna Ɛisa imi i gexdem ayagi deg wass n westeɛfu.
16And for this the Jews persecuted Jesus [and sought to kill him], because he had done these things on sabbath.
17Sidna Ɛisa yenna yasen : Baba Ṛebbi ixeddem ar tura, nekk daɣen aql-i xeddmeɣ !
17But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto and I work.
18?ef wawal-agi lecyux-nni ufan-as-ed sebba nniḍen, țqelliben amek ara t-nɣen, mačči kan imi ur iqudeṛ ara ass n westeɛfu meɛna imi gerra Ṛebbi d Baba-s yerna yesseɛdel iman-is d Ṛebbi.
18For this therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he had not only violated the sabbath, but also said that God was his own Father, making himself equal with God.
19Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yasen : S tideț qqaṛeɣ-awen : Mmi-s n Ṛebbi ur ixeddem acemma s yiman is, ixeddem ala ayen yeẓra ixeddem-it Baba-s. Kra n wayen ixeddem Baba-s ixeddem-it Mmi-s daɣen.
19Jesus therefore answered and said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, The Son can do nothing of himself save whatever he sees the Father doing: for whatever things *he* does, these things also the Son does in like manner.
20Axaṭer Baba-s iḥemmel Mmi-s, yesbeggin-as-d lecɣal-is meṛṛa. Ad as-yernu tazmert s wacu ara yexdem ayen yugaren kra n wayen teẓram ar ass-a, aț-țwehmem di lecɣal-is.
20For the Father loves the Son and shews him all things which he himself does; and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may wonder.
21Akken Baba Ṛebbi yeskkaray-ed lmegtin ițțarra-yasen tudert, akken daɣen Mmi-s yețțak tudert i win yebɣa.
21For even as the Father raises the dead and quickens [them], thus the Son also quickens whom he will:
22Baba Ṛebbi ur iḥekkem ɣef yiwen, lameɛna yerra lḥekma ger ifassen n Mmi-s
22for neither does the Father judge any one, but has given all judgment to the Son;
23iwakken imdanen meṛṛa ad qadṛen Mmi-s akken țqadaṛen Baba-s. Win ur nqudeṛ ara Mmi-s ur iqudeṛ ara Baba-s i t-id iceggɛen.
23that all may honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He who honours not the Son, honours not the Father who has sent him.
24S tideț nniɣ-awen : « kra n win yesmeḥsisen i wawal-iw, yumnen s win i yi-d-iceggɛen yesɛa tudert n dayem yerna ulac fell-as lḥisab, lameɛna iɛedda yakan si lmut ɣer tudert.
24Verily, verily, I say unto you, that he that hears my word, and believes him that has sent me, has life eternal, and does not come into judgment, but is passed out of death into life.
25S tideț nniɣ-awen : « iteddu-d lweqt yerna yewweḍ-ed anda lmegtin ad slen i ṣṣut n Mmi-s n Ṛebbi, yerna wid akk ara s-yeslen ad idiren.
25Verily, verily, I say unto you, that an hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that have heard shall live.
26Akken yesɛa Baba Ṛebbi tudert deg yiman-is i gefka daɣen i Mmi-s ad yesɛu tudert deg yiman-is.
26For even as the Father has life in himself, so he has given to the Son also to have life in himself,
27Yerra ger ifassen-is lḥekma imi d Mmi-s n bunadem i gella.
27and has given him authority to execute judgment [also], because he is Son of man.
28Ur țțawhamet ara, axaṭer lweqt iteddu-d, wid akk yellan deg i?ekwan ad slen i ṣṣut n Mmi-s n bunadem,
28Wonder not at this, for an hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs shall hear his voice,
29imiren a d-kkren ; wid ixedmen lxiṛ a d-ḥyun ɣer tudert n dayem ma d wid ixedmen cceṛ a d-ḥyun iwakken ad țțuḥasben.
29and shall go forth; those that have practised good, to resurrection of life, and those that have done evil, to resurrection of judgment.
30Ur xeddmeɣ acemma s lebɣi-w lameɛna ḥekkmeɣ s lebɣi n Baba Ṛebbi. Lḥekma-inu d lḥeqq axaṭer ur țqellibeɣ ara ad xedmeɣ lebɣi-w, lameɛna lebɣi n win i yi-d-iceggɛen. »
30I cannot do anything of myself; as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous, because I do not seek my will, but the will of him that has sent me.
31Ma yella d nekk kan i d icehden ɣef yiman-iw cchada-inu ur tețwaqbal ara.
31If I bear witness concerning myself, my witness is not true.
32Lameɛna sɛiɣ inigi nniḍen, yerna cchada-ines tṣeḥḥa.
32It is another who bears witness concerning me, and I know that the witness which he bears concerning me is true.
33Tceggɛem ɣer Yeḥya testeqsam-t, nețța icehhed-ed ɣef tideț.
33Ye have sent unto John, and he has borne witness to the truth.
34Nekk ur țkileɣ ara ɣef cchada n wemdan, nniɣ-awen-d annect-agi akken aț-țețwasellkem.
34But I do not receive witness from man, but I say this that *ye* might be saved.
35Yeḥya yusa-d ț-țaftilt yețfeǧǧiǧen ger yemdanen, ma d kunwi tebɣam aț-țferḥem taswiɛt kan di tafat-is.
35*He* was the burning and shining lamp, and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
36Tella fell-i cchada nniḍen yugaren tin n Yeḥya : d lecɣal i yi d-yefka Baba Ṛebbi a ten-xedmeɣ. Lecɣal-agi țcehhiden-d fell-i belli d Baba Ṛebbi i yi-d-iceggɛen.
36But I have the witness [that is] greater than [that] of John; for the works which the Father has given me that I should complete them, the works themselves which I do, bear witness concerning me that the Father has sent me.
37Ula d Baba Ṛebbi i yi d-iceggɛen icehhed-ed fell-i, meɛna kunwi leɛmeṛ ur teslim i ṣṣut-is, ur teẓrim udem-is.
37And the Father who has sent me himself has borne witness concerning me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor have seen his shape,
38Awal-is ur yezdiɣ ara deg wulawen nwen imi ur tuminem ara s win i d-iceggeɛ.
38and ye have not his word abiding in you; for whom *he* hath sent, him ye do not believe.
39Tețnadim di tektabin iqedsen tɣilem aț-țafem deg-sent tudert n dayem. Tiktabin-agi d nutenti i-d-icehden fell-i.
39Ye search the scriptures, for ye think that in them ye have life eternal, and they it is which bear witness concerning me;
40Lameɛna kunwi tugim a d-tasem ɣuṛ-i aț-țesɛum tudert.
40and ye will not come to me that ye might have life.
41Ur țqellibeɣ ara ad sɛuɣ cciɛa ɣer yemdanen,
41I do not receive glory from men,
42?riɣ belli deg wulawen-nwen ur tḥemmlem ara Ṛebbi.
42but I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
43Nekk usiɣ-ed s yisem n Baba Ṛebbi, kunwi ur iyi-teqbilem ara. Lemmer a d-yas wayeḍ a d-icehhed ɣef yiman-is a t-tqeblem !
43I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not; if another come in his own name, him ye will receive.
44Amek ara tesɛum liman ma yella tețnadim aț-țemyeɛǧabem wway gar awen wala aț-țɛeǧbem kan i Ṛebbi ?
44How can ye believe, who receive glory one of another, and seek not the glory which [comes] from God alone?
45?adret aț-țɣilem d nekk ara iccetkin fell-awen zdat Baba Ṛebbi ! D Musa ara iccetkin fell-awen, d Musa-nni ɣef i tețțeklem.
45Think not that I will accuse you to the Father: there is [one] who accuses you, Moses, on whom ye trust;
46Lemmer ț-țideț tumnem s Musa tili tumnem yis-i, axaṭer yura-d fell-i di tira iqedsen.
46for if ye had believed Moses, ye would have believed me, for he wrote of me.
47Ma yella ur tuminem ara s wayen i d-yura, amek ara tamnem s wawal-iw ?
47But if ye do not believe his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
